Dravid is not a powerful leader and has no self belief. He is too introvert & self centered to be a captain. For his selfish act and self interest he (with the help from another two similar minded person Greg& More ) turned the 'Team India'( inherited from great Ganguly era) to a collection of great players. If you can not build a team then you can not be a team leader. Without a %u201Cteam%u201D you can't win. Consequently we dropped from ICC ranking 2 to 6. He has no influencing power and does not have any charisma to be a captain. He himself understands that. That%u2019s why now he got another a couple of south colleagues (Prasad & Sing) to get the help, support and the %u201Cpower%u201D to make the players agree to his silly plans. Remember if that plain fails he will complain like a child that his players didn%u2019t support him.
A person who can%u2019t lead himself how can he lead 1.2 billion people ?
If a simple man like me can understand, why all the so called experts and knowledgeable BCCI persons can%u2019t understand that?
I think they do understand. But this is the board politics and the part of the arrangement how they came into power. The current management does not care about Indian cricket . As long as they are in power and get the money everything else is fine. DRAVID IS THEIR YES MAN. They just want to put people%u2019%u2019s attention to something different, so that they are not judge by their own performance.
The players should go if they are not performing. But so do the captain, coach & the BCCI management. Because of their combined effort India has slipped down to ICC ranking 6, from ICC ranking 2, when they took power from the previous board.
Only in India we sack our most successful captain after a series win while the captain scored a ton in his last test innings. But we keep our captain (and probably our coach too if he wanted to stay) after such a measurable performance in world cup, champions trophy and so on%u2026.
I think we should change attitude towards cricket tournaments. Just like Olympics we should say participation is the main thing. We do not want to win; all we want our good boy Dravid as captain. The team will not win and the players will not demand. After all it is BCCI who are there to control the players and show who are in charge. Not to help or listen to the player or sort our player%u2019s or support%u2019s problem.

If Vengsarkar did not sign the BCCI selection (not selectors' selection) of Rahul Dravid as a captain again, it should be raised again on 20th April meeting and sack Dravid from Captaincy. Dravid is a spineless, slave.
Indian cricket will be saved if Dravid is sacked.
He and Greig Chappell damaged the TEAM-INDIA in last two years.
Dravid is so CHEAP person that he even did not resign from captaincy and again accepted the captaincy. He never got education how to show and give dignity of moral values.
Sachin is still asset of the INDIAN cricket. See how whole team break down when Sachin gets out. Then Mr. Gum (Wall) even cannot save or win the match. Mr. Gum also exploited Sachin many times.

Blaming Dravid is absolutely bullshit. Ganguly, as others have said, is the best captain for India? but how did he become the best captain? he had an impeccable vice captain in Dravid and all the players were united and played as a team. Dravid had sachin as his deputy and per Greg, the so called senior players were always trying to undermine him. How the hell you would lead the team under such circumstances. Assuming what Greg had said is correct, he and Dravid wanted to bowl against Bangladesh which was duly opposed by the senior members. If you have differences between yourselves, you cannot play as a team and you can never expect a captain to be successful. On the other hand, Ganguly had Dravid as his deputy who did a very neat job of balancing the team, providing wise thoughts at crunch times. Even Ganguly had admitted that he had a good aide in Dravid. Ganguly's victories are not based on his thoughts only. His decisions were made in consultation with the team's key players. How many times have you seen Ganguly facing the press when we lost? Not even once. Dravid has to do all the balancing act of addressing the media. Bottom line is, if there is no unity in the team and if the vice captain and the so called senior players are trying to undermine the captain, even GOD cannot captain the Indian team and win matches.

Dravid was spineless deputy of ganguly..The way Ganguly wanted to mold Dravid, he had molded...So ultimate result is u r the captain of Bullshit
gone are the days when sachin and ganguly used to shine like pearls and outthrow every one coming in their way to glory.... earlier their willow used to speak now someone else is supposed to advocate for them.. arn't they capable enough to prove their worth!!!! a captain can't do anything unless all 11 players on the field giv their best..may be dravid's backing of one and two players may be a wrong decision but were there only 2-3 of them in the ground playing for indai included dravid...where is the moral responsibility by those big guns of india... dravid should be praised FOR THE man he is and the stuff he is made of.. he isn't a stroke player so no one is ever facisinated by him...but look into the stats even,, his worthy runs came always in the hour of crisis... he deserves the respect which he hasn't received so far 'coz of big guns of india.. he is also a superstar but we are not acepting it as him being superstar will hurt the likes of big guns.. trust me..he only can lead india to a glorious future...

The way Dravid captained India in last 1 year (rather slightly non-friendly wickets) very bad. It was clear that newly laid wickets in Westindies in start of the season requires batsman having grafting capability not for so called stroke player (likes of Dhoni, Utthapa and co.). He dropped Kaif, Laxman kind of player and persisted with Utthapa in all three matches of world cup. Has anybody in this forum had faith of Utthapa succeeding with only one stroke (hit every ball) in seaming wickets of initial overs ? But Dravid persisted .. and result is clear. Steve Waugh was dropped in One-day after Australia failed to qualify for 2002 tri-series final once. A failed captain (worst result) can never build a fresh team. I think BCCI politicians have played a safe trick here. BCCI really pathetic..
