ravi sastri is one of the most exciting vetern cricker along with sunil , who has the best understanding nature of a crickter in all circumstances. i appreciate boards decision and this may be the turning point for our teams ambition for victory in world cup and 90% success rate . sastri can influence even sachin to a great extent , who can visulise sachin s feelings about the game and respect it. I ONCE AGAIN PRONOUNCE TO 1 BILLION INDIANS THAT A NEW CHAPTER WAS OPENED AND TIME IS BACK .

Ravi Shastri
by Abraham Jacob on Apr 07, 2007 05:06 PM  Permalink

We don't have to look for another coach for the next 40 years once Ravi Shastri occupies the crease. All maharashtrians spoils cricket...!

ravi shastri hai hai
by Anurag Shrivastava on Apr 07, 2007 04:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ravi Shastri was on eof the dullest player in the 80s and we used to pray he gets out very fast. He would occupy the crease for a long time and not score any runs leading to India losing most ofthe matches in the late 80s in ODI. He is a man of limited talent who was only interested in somehow keeping his job. Good thing about him - he retired when he was just 30 years old and took over a role as a commentator in which he has been doing a fine job. Anyway ... BCCI did not have a much of choice - Mohinder is too anti-establishment and can call them a " bunch of jokers anytime" and Sandeep Patil does not a have a personality to coach the indian team. Gavaskar is a political animal , Kapil too inarticulate and the rest too mediocre. Our cricket players are like our software engineers - much hyped , paid well , do a lor of work but can compete only against third rate competitors and never in the big league !

Mr Chappel as a consultant to NCA
by Circuit on Apr 07, 2007 04:51 PM  Permalink

The post offered to Mr. Chappel is another part of fithy politics played by BCCI which of late has mired the passion of our cricket lovers and brought disrepute to the game itself.

It is a concious effort to keep Mr. Chappels within the wraps and peventing him to spill the beans of the ugly side of the team & its management as a whole.

This definitely won't serve the purpose of the game as the system needs complete overhaul and prevent all political interferences in the game itself.

Media should play a very proactive role to bring out the facts.
