World's slowest bowler is bowling coach!!!!!!!!!!!
by pankaj mittal on Apr 07, 2007 09:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What a joke!!!! Venkatesh prasad is our bowling coach. During his tenure with Indian team he was the laziest and slowest bowler in the team. Most of the teams have milked him like a child and now BCCI has appointed him as a bowling coach.

Ravi Shastri Manager of Indian Team ??
by ramakrishna maturi on Apr 07, 2007 09:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

He was the one who played once only to get "Audi" car. Where as Srikanth who was also a contender for that car played his nautral game. I don't understand what role Ravi play at this stage to improve the performance. He will only end up being a broker between Board and Players.

I absolutely agree with you.

Ravi Shastri is made manager beacuse he can talk big big things like chappel. Beacuse he is from mumbai. Because he has the ability to boss over the captain and make sure that the board officiales get the most benefits, money.

Coach, Captain and Manager Are Secondary Factors.
by Errampalle Jawahardatham on Apr 07, 2007 09:49 PM  Permalink

Coach, Captain and Manager Are Secondary Factors. The fundamental reason for the failure is the quality of our players and the way they are selected. Except 2 or 3, rest of our players are useless fellows... mere buffoons.

Our selection process is flawed. When a player hits a century by fluke they flatter him and keep him for the next 10 matches irrespective his performance. There is no method of evaluating exactly the technical and tactical merits of a player. The selectors base their assessment finally on the players' fluke performance and figures, and ultimately end up selecting idiots, buffoons and jokers, who fit only in Circus. Indian authorties so far have not focused their attention to give encouragement for the circus teams. Perhaps our players will be successful there at least as buffoons.

Our cricket players have the capabilities to become buffoons of international fame.

BCCI

On the whole most of the measures to be taken appear to be good, and may help in improving the present situation, provided they are implemented seriously and transparently.

However about limiting endorsements, how far they would help, it is a thing to be seen. ACTUALLY the problem with them is neither heatrt burning since they are making astrnomical amounts nor waste of time. The basic issue is when a sponseror is investing such huge amounts on certain players, and the contract duration is for certain duration of time. If during midway that particular players continuously perfoms badly and is likely to be dropped, then the sposorer are most likely to influence the selectors in maintaining him. There have been already rumours that certain selectors were definitely approached with tempting offers. Thus the endorsements are likely to influence the selections of a particular player since huge amounts are involved.

Many times I have posted here that endorsements has nothing to do with the performance!! It's actually the players should have that wish & will to fight for the country & win!!

Example? Valentino Rossi, Micheal Schumacher, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, etc. Take Rossi (he was 2nd on the list made by Sports Illustrated of CNN) with a huge sum - $30,000,000 in 2006. You look at him in the MotoGP now - he is a Gold in terms of performance, quest for reaching greater heights, and thirst for more & more wins!! (FYI, he is only 28yrs with 7 world titles compared to 34 yrs of Schumacher with 7 world titles!!)

So this proves what? Something big is wrong with our India players!! Don't you agree even now?

all must go
by jeet gupta on Apr 07, 2007 09:48 PM  Permalink

making lots of coaches will not help.shastri leading all will lead to groupism.shastri does not hv any quality in that sense.they will thrash b/desh , n feel then all is well.they will never improve.

Venkatesh Prasad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Dinesh Kumar on Apr 07, 2007 09:44 PM  Permalink

Fine , but somebody must coach Venkatesh prasad so that he would coach our team !!!!!!!!. I'm afraid this decision today in BCCI would make the Indian Bowling "THE WORST"
