I think Dravid could lead the young team, but after the upcoming results, whether a the old team should continue or the young team. Dravid better quit........

Those who wanted to see the best leader already got a slap after world cup.

They will get another slap very soon, wait for pathetic exit of Dravid soon.

A mean minded spineless person (Dravid) kept as
a captain who could be manipulated by BCCI on its own interest.

Sachin or Yubraj would be 100 times better than Dravid.

Sachin is not at all playing well these days and v already know that he cannot play well when he is captain..Giving him the captaincy would be like asking him to retire..Yuvraj is not the right man..He is not even a regular and has made his way back into the indian team just now..

Ruining Performance
by Surajit Dash on Apr 07, 2007 10:41 PM  Permalink

Its India's Cricket history. Whenever a player becomes captain, he ruins his skills. When non cricketing people are running BCCI, why cant a not cricketing person be made the captain? like a Chartered accountant, or a business man ? They can be made to sit outside the field (non-playing captain) and BCCI can direct the players instead..

Retention after a great failure ... certainly there is no evaluation of performance in Indian Cricket. Some other factors are driving it.

Team India and Superstars
by Sanjay on Apr 07, 2007 10:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As I write this I am following the Bagladeshi team put up a fight against South Africa. They have already made more 245 runs. Compare this with Team India's performance against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the WC and realize how outclassed our superstars were. I wonder if BCCI will continue with them or look more more reliable players? The definition of insanity is keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

Now I am geting concerned about our next series (with Bangladesh). Thanks to our Team's current form it promises to be an exciting one. Our superstars should appear in commercials for bangles and anklets.

Dont think that INDIANs are going to give it up so easily.Banglas will have to fight realy hard although the result for the indian team is inevitable i.e. another defeat.

What is really required
by No Returns on Apr 07, 2007 10:36 PM  Permalink

1. Fire most all members of BCCI a CEO is fired for company's debacle why not these guys? Anyone who was involved in making decision about and for the team should go.
2. Get Greg Chappell as far away from Indian Cricket as possible. He tried to be the manager and a coach but worst he is only a politician covering his own back side.
3. Find a captain who is like Kapil Dev and can fire-up the team instead of accepting their mediocre performance
4. Always hire selectors from outside with no say of BCCI or any government agency. Keep the identity of Selectors secret so none can be influenced.
5. Fire the a player immediately if he is recommended by a company for selection.
6. Time for Ganguly, Harbhajan Sing, Agarkar, Sahwaag, Utthappa to go.
7. Bring Tendulkar to open again.
8. Encourage a lot of TV coverage, colored clothing one-day tournament, day night cricket and sponsorship for local cricket. Abolish the three-day junk cricket.
10. Again BCCI and any Cricketing decision makers who were involved in past 4 years must go. Since they are the ones who have done this to India and now while they escape the players are taking all the blame and mainly for not coming up with any measurable improvement.

Make a cricket team with Cinema Heroines.
Of course the cricket dress code should also be changed.

Pawar proves himself
by Teri Jaat Ka Paida Maroon on Apr 07, 2007 10:33 PM  Permalink

Proves himself to be a true dirty politician. In 2004 Mah. elections he had promised to go hand-in-hand with cong. with whom his party was sharing seats. and then he slyly started campaining against cong in the constituencies that he had given to congress.

this guy is a big schemer. the notice to sachin, limit on endorsements, paid selectors after one year etc etc is just a temporary cover-up job he is doing to gain public sympathy. if he had to go against the players who get money for the board in the first place, to earn sympathy for bcci, so be it. This little dirty schemer that he is.

We should try team from LAGAN
by sachin bajaj on Apr 07, 2007 10:30 PM  Permalink

Team from lagan would have done much better, atleast would have beaten the banglas & the tunda would have picked up atleast one wicket unlike bhajji who dont have any "BHEJA".

DRAVID THE SCHEMER RETAINED???
by rama prasad on Apr 07, 2007 09:47 PM | Hide replies | Hide message

WHY HAS DRAVID BEEN RETAINED? FOR THE LAST ONE YEAR HIS CAPTAINCY HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY BULLSHIT. HE MIGHT BE A 'WALL' IN BATTING BUT HIS BRAINS ARE ALSO FULL OF BRICKS ANS STONES AS PER HIS RECORD. HE CANNOT BLAME SENIORS AS ALL JUNIORS FAILED FOR TWO LONG YEARS AND HE WAS GIVEN FULL SUPPORT BY THE SELECTION COMMITTEE. HE WAS MADE CAPTAIN FOR TWO YEARS. NO OTHER CPATAIN GOT SO MUCH LIFT FROM THE BCCI NOT EVEN THE MOST SUCCESSFUL CAPTAIN SOURAV.
WHY IS THIS FAVOURITISM BEING SHOW TO HIM? ARE HIS SPONSORS THE SAME AS THE ONES WHO ARE SPONSORING THE BCCI??? THE INDIAN PUBLIC IS NOT A FOOL.
WHY ARE PLAYERS BEING SINGLED OUT. THE BCCI GAVE TOO MUCH LIFT TO DRAVID AND GREG AND THEY BEHAVED LIKE DICTATORS AND EVERY ONE SUFFERED A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. EVEN THE JUNIORS FAILED TIME AND AGAIN INS SPITE OF BEING GIVEN SEVERAL CHANCES.
THE YOUNG TEAM TO BANGLADESH WILL NOT INCLUDE SOURAV FOR SURE. I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THE OTHERS. BUT DRAVID THE "B.....D" THINKS HE IS A GREAT CAPTAIN WHEN A TAXI DRIVER WILL BE BETTER THAN HIM.

dravid a waste of space in Indian team....come on bcci look at southafrica they brought in grame smith to captaincy when he was just 20..start patronising young talent ...there'z no wall in australian team or south african team ,why India alone needs a wall like dravid start finding a team player we don't need the media so called matchwinner or the wall...come on it'z a team sport not like tennis where individual effort counts.I stopped watching cricket there were many sleepless night for me b'coz of cricket...all i wanted Indian team to do well in every tournament ,forget the worldcup.Bring in new players which the bcci will not do at all,i realised later they are playing poker not cricket.
GUYZ LETZ START PROMOTING OTHER SPOTZ LIKE ...FOOTBALL,BASKETBALL,VOLLEYBALL,HOCKEY..ENOUGH WITH CRICKET LET'Z GROW UP INDIAN CRICKET TEAM ALONG WITH BCCI WISH THEM TO END UP IN EARLY GRAVE FOR MAKING AS BUNCH OF JOKERS FOR A LONG TIME.

Dravid is a wall, fevicol gum, use for nothing as compare to Ponting, Smith, Lara etc.

He is CHEAP person, spineless too.
BCCI needs him very badly.

INDIAN cricket's death certificate will arrive soon from the BEST LEADER, DRAVID !!!
