Cricket is a corruption
by Ganesh B on Apr 07, 2007 11:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

11 fools are making 1.1 billion people in India fools. Cricket is the biggest corruption. But since people involved are higher castes no one is bothered about it. What is the cost of cricket betting corruption vs stamp paper racket vs bofors. Cricket will stand first. But why no one is taking any action against it. Instead, people want to stand for the cricketers during their tough times. Do a sample study of the caste of cricketers. How many belong to that "higher" caste? Almost 100% (Except some minorities, of course). Why should 90% India watch the 10% minorities games?

Ganguly
by carol devon on Apr 07, 2007 11:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

ok u want to know why ganguly was a good captain..Tell me in the recent times has he batted well..Take one example. The world cup do u think it was becoz of ganguly that v went to the finals of last world cup..Let me give u statistics.Don't support Ganguly only becoz u r a fan and come up with crazy ideas that he led india to glory only becoz of himself.Let me give u the real statistics..Take World Cup 2003 for example..Against Zim ganguly went for 23 runs whereas Sachin and Rahul batted till the end scoring 88 and 43 not out respectively.India won..India against England.Ganguly out for 19 runs.Sachin 59 Dravid 62 and Nehra 6 wickets ensured India a place in the Super Six..Against pak. Ganguly 0 Dravid 44 not out Yuraj 50 runs.India won. These were the pool matches..Now super six.Against sri lanka sachin 98 sehwag 65. India won.Against nz ganguly 3 Kaif 68 n.o Dravid 53n.o.India won and went into semifinals and in the final 24..He played well against Kenya and Nambia..and in all this rahul dravid was a wicketkeeper..I don't think Ganguly contributed one percent.Check the records..Don't blindly support one player.

And i would like to add one more thing..Ganguly pulled himself down..Let's go down history shall we? It was becoz of Ganguly that Chappell was appointed as coach. He insisted that chappell be made coach. Then when chappell suggested that ganguly give up his captaincy so that he can concentrate on his batting who asked him to come to the media and reveal it.Was he trying to gain sympathy? Y did he come out with it? This was the starting of this whole fiasco. He could have just said something to chappell or the board and left the matter as it was..But instead he chose to publicise it..If u think dravid is a puppet to sharad pawar what do u think ganguly was to dalmiya?

Ganguly is a great batsman but not a good team player. He is supposed to be the most aggresive player..Where is all the aggresssion now? being a senior u have to help the others in the team..He is always with the ipod..Where has his aggression gone? Do u mean to say that he is only aggressive when he is captain? What does that say abt him?

Yuvraj is just like ganguly..His attitude is getting in the way..I too don't want dravid to lead but at the moment he is the only choice..As batsmen v have got the best ppl in the world..Even australia cannot stand against us.V have ppl like Sachin,Sourav,Dravid,Yuvraj,Dhoni but y r v not able to compete with them?

its not always that a captain always have a great record but the point is team as collective unit should do well & i think everybody knows who is the best captain of all times when it comes to the indian team but I think only the time will tell about dravid or yuvraj as decision has already been made.

carol devon i agree with u 100 percent.you have done excellent analysis. actually the people in our country r blind they support individuals out of emotions.too much has been said about dravids captaincy and sourav ganguly is regarded as a good captain by our countrymen but the fact is ganguly was a nervous captain who did not had any trust on his regular bowlers.dravid on the other hand has won india 17 consecutive matches with his good batting. on the whole dravid is a much more composed and mentally strong captain then ganguly.actually the memory of the people of our country is very weak, they have forgotten the fact that indian team was all out for 54 runs against sri lanka under the captaincy of the so called great captain sourav ganguly.anybody who still believes that sourav was a great captain and he took india to wc 2003 finals then please read carol devons comment given above. although india is out of wc 2007 but dravid should not be blamed for it as it he fighted hard in the last match against sri lanka made a brave 60 after having cramps in his legs for two times. so, guyz dravid is the right choice at the moment. well done carol devon.

Present cricket team is the best
by Libran on Apr 07, 2007 11:31 PM  Permalink

Among all talent available to play today, present Indian team is the best. I am not being sarcastic. All they need to change is their attitude and bring out the natural talents. In fact, our bowlers are not as talented but have shown right attitude and have done better than their better talented batsmen- teammates

Sachin vs Ponting..
by Gaurav Deol on Apr 07, 2007 11:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sachin is almost 34..Ponting is 32..
Sachin started his international career when he was 16..Ponting started it when he was 24..Sachin has played many many more matches ( both tests and one dayers).Ponting has managed the amazing and in the last 3 years, he has totally dominated the batting charts while sachin has struggled..At this rate, Ponting will overtake Sachin by next three series and he will reach 50 centuries in no time in test cricket..The only way Sachin can reach 50 centuries by the end of his career( if he has any) is maybe, probably by BCCI making India to play atleast 2 Test series each with Zimbabwe, Kenya, Bangladesh and maybe ireland .But for that , the corrupt BCCI must first fight and bribe and convince ICC to give test status to a few of the above mentioned countries..If Bermuda is by chance given a test playing status, maybe, just maybe Sachin can do it..
Take it from me guys, there IS NO WAY ON EARTH WE CAN EXPECT SACHIN, THIS SACHIN OF PRESENT DAY TO SCORE CENTURIES AGAINST THE LIKES OF AUSSIES, SOUTH AFRICANS,SRI LANKANS, KIWIS AND EVEN ENGLAND..I MEAN HE WILL STRUGGLE AGAINST THEM EVEN AT HOME CONDITIONS AS WE HAVE ALL SEEN RECENTLY

RE:Sachin vs Ponting..
by raman garg on Apr 08, 2007 12:05 AM  Permalink
gaurav u cannot compare the two. although ur right that ponting is a big match player and sachin has not done it in recent times but you should not forget the fact that ponting belongs to a much more stronger team and he gets more support from the batsman on the other hand like hayden, gilchrist, clarke and symonds.but sachin has not recieved that kind of support from other end of the crease.but still sachin is the greatest batsman of all times. your memory is weak perhaps dont u remember that semi final and final in sharjah where sachin won india single handedly and independence cup final in sri lanka plus all the matches in wc 2003.apart from it also sachin has won india so many matches but your memory is weak. every match of a wc is a big match and dont u remember that sachin scored 673 runs in wc 2003 and more than 500 runs in 1996 wc.41 centuries in odis and 35 centuries in tests and more than than 14000 runs in odi and 10000 runs in tests is not a joke. well on the basis of three matches of wc u can say that sachin is ordinary and ponting is better but the fact is sachin tendulkar is far more superior than ricky ponting in technique. ponting's technique is not better than sachins. i am sure that sachin will rise to the occasion now and he will shut the mouth of all his critics as he has always done. beware world, sachin is coming back!!!!!!!!

Yuvraj ,one of the best finishers in tha game today
by Gaurav Deol on Apr 07, 2007 11:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Along with the likes of Hussey, Oram, Symonds and Bouchers..

The only problem with the lad is that he is very arrogant. If he curbs that and learns to be humble and diplomatic, maybe we have a great captain for the future in long terms..Definately , most certainly Dravid will not be there in 2011 as he will be 38 nearly and i dont see him feilding and running between the wickets with the same agility..I must admit that Dravid is the best batter we have today but then Yuvraj is not far behind..he needs to mature himself, stop hiding behing Kim´s saree and start desciplining himself

These days its a game of words & they do have some sort of effect on the players although it proved to be good for india on that occassion but it was the attitude of ganguly that took the indian cricket from bottom to sky & its that extra humbleness of dravid that has brought it down.

Do u know what is wrong with many of the fans? They worship the cricketers like gods but when they fail these ppl don't accept their failure..You see many ppl here want sachin to be captain..Sachin is not in form at the moment and giving him the captaincy would be a bad idea..Giving Sourav the captaincy is also bad..He is called an aggressive player where is all the aggression now? He is with his ipod all the time..Being a senior player does he not have to talk to the youngsters..You get aggression only when u r captain is it? Shows u what kind of an individual he is? Yuvraj bad idea as welll..believe me i too don't want rahul to be a captain but at the moment he is the only one who can be given the job..Don't worship one player and but down the other..After all they are all playing under one team.
