I bet nothing will change. Neither there will be change in BCCI selection Crew nor any replacement of senior players will be forceably made to retire? Unless we change our mind set in our attitudes towards selection and regionalism issue, or favouritism towards non performing players. There can not be any improvement in field.

Pawar said earlier you may see major changes soon... Major changes acc. to him will be remove coach, trainer, manager, cashier & some management staff.... Team will remain unchanged... Who cares abt teams winning n losing...Don't you see the personal records?

sachin gave joy when his contributions mattered to the team......can't recall any such performance in recent past. selctions shud be based on the merit of performance & going by that simple & universal yardstick......sachin doesn't deserve a place in the team with his current form.
And don't u remeber the innings mentioned in the article...sachin was selfishness exemplified. He wanted to avoid octroi on the free ferrari...he was greed exemplified. And with the number of times he is getting his stumps broken....he's a lame duck personified !
Nobody races an unfit & old horse just coz it ran well in its prime.
I think most of the people would have guessed the outcome of this so called meeting as you have pointed out. It is very strange that Sachin chose to respond to the 'attitude' problem in a way it put a full stop on any other discussion related to the world cup loss. The agenda is now completely hijacked from why we lost the WC in the first round to how can a coach comment on Sachin's attitude. Now, to reward Sachin, these idiots will give the captaincy for him and he will screw the team for another 4 years. All the seniors must go now and the team needs a fresh build up to even have a chance of fight for the next WC. Seniors, please save the indian cricket and leave the floooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Indian team is desperately in need of personality development professionals who would teach them attitude management, behaviour management, hierarchy management and everything that needs to keep team as united.....
Sachin hasn't performed for a long while. But instead of retiring gracefully at his peak, he is clinging on to the national team. It has to do with his contract with his sports managers-he gets his Rs.25 crores per year promised endorsements only if he sticks like a leech to the team. Out of team, out of endorsements. Greg is right when he says the seniors act like a 'mafia'. They are only bothered about their endorsement. They are not bothered about India and national glory. We poor TV watchers are the real suckers. We think our cricketers can't do wrong. But Azhar and Jadeja have been there before and yet we remain gullible and can't believe the obvious.
I think it is a good article though it clearly states the frustration shared by so many of us cricket fans. I dont know myself who the real cricket fans in this country are-the ones who burned effigies during our losses to Bangladesh and SriLanka or the ones who predicted that India will win the World Cup after the crushing victory against Bermuda!!! What will happen-people like us are going to write our views-some of us will counter-view (and maybe abuse each other). I think it's not about Indian team anymore-try convincing a Bengali that Ganguly has batted selfishly in the past or try arguing with a Maharashtrian about the diminishing abilities of Tendulkar or try debating with a South-Indian about unimaginative captaincy of Dravid- one will surely get the answer. Who is going to forget the boos the Indian team received after it lost to S.Africa in Kolkata in 2005 because 'their' Ganguly was not in the squad. Maybe, India will have a tough time playing anyteam in Mumbai if Sachin is dropped. Howcome teams like Australia have dropped players like M.Waugh from ODIs and yet have gone on to rebuild a good team and win World Cups? Even Hayden was dropped from ODIs and now he's back and perhaps in his best form. The question is not about individuals-its about the team. e are so divided amongst ourselves and so regionalists than how can we expect a team that is going to put up a united fight??

We should appreciate Bengal people for their support to Ganguly when he was in trouble...they are the true fans and not the idiots who are criticising sachin....

Ok Saurabh-it seems you are a passionate fan of Sachin. I admire your support. Now please honestly tell me-do you think Sachin can command a place in a team like Australia (in their ODI squad)? Also, when was the last time Sachin played a match-winning knock in an ODI when it mattered the most.aybe, I dont remember but atleast you can refresh my memory?

See my point is that Sachin should quit ODI's. I still think he has a lot to offer in Tests (and so does Dravid and Laxman, though I am not too sure about Ganguly). In my opinion, though we might never find another talent like Sachin was in his prime, Dinesh Karthik can be a genuine match-winner. Man, I don't hate Tendulkar-I just think eveybody has to end somewhere. Some of my best cricketing memories are that of Sachin smacking Kasprowicz in Sharjah 1998 and taming McGrath in the 1996 World Cup. But he is not the same anymore Saurabh!

The Sachin Sourav fans; (Bloody hell these fans only need to be hung down the fans)
How many more yrs are we going to rely on the same old cricketers. Even Kapil found it tough to retire coz of the moolah. Are we worried abt the Indian Cricket as a whole or are we gonna support individual for personal whims and fancies. It's time we groomed young players and stop crying over spilt milk. It's an eye opener. It's come at a right time, much much before the 20-20 world cup and the bigger tournaments to follow. We all know we were one of the worst fielding teams in this world cup, bettering only Bermuda i guess.
The amount of money in this sport is damaging the sport. Truth hurts but it's better to know the truth from someone close rather than lose again to a "Bangladesh".
Thankyou Chappel, you did your best, you could avoided certaing things which the nation can't digest easily. However, hats off for the effort. I am sure there would be more nations awaiting to use your skills and guidance.
Thankyou Sachin for your 17 yrs to Indian cricket. It's time you atleast gave up the ODI's. YOu know it, your body wont be able to take the burden" Groom the youngsters, may be groom more Sachin's. Play the tests. But for heavens sake Sachin Ganguly hang up your boots from the ODI's. Unfortunately we do not have strong gentlemen in the board to have the courage to remove Sachin, unlike the Aussies who dint care a damn whether it was Steve Waugh or Mark. When people say we are not like the Aussies to behave that way, I feel like showing the finger to them and telling thats why we'l never play hard and committed like the Aussies.
Selectors, go to the tribes, you'l find many extreme fast bowlers and strong lads, whom you can teach "Cricket", iff you can.
Arvind, agree with you. I m not surprise if they appoint Gavaskar as a new coach to expand their group.... Pawar, Tendulkar(capt.) & Gavaskar(coach) & Vengsarkar(selector).... God bless Indian team....

but then sachin can find his place in the team now only with vengsarkar as selector & g'skar as coach.........coz this wud ensure that nothin silly like merit of performance doesn't come into play !

And he has a perfect oppurtunity waiting for him to score runs (Bangladesh series). As he is only capable of scoring against the the lower rung teams and that too 1 out of every 4 innings
Drvid is and was the worst captain ever, due respects to his batting prowess but he just isnt a leader. Just one or two bad matches dont make sachin a no hoper. He is and was the best player to play the game. Boo to those who Boo him.

If Ganguly was out of the WC team we would have definitely reached atleast the semi-finals. The most jealous, the most selfish and the most greeday player to play for India is ganguly. Look at the way he played against B'desh 60 odd runs in 130 balls and in the end plays a totally rash shot and gets out. Against Bermuda when all the other players had a S/R of over 100 this man has less than that. And against SL he again plays a totally unwanted and a rash shot and gets out. It's plain, simple to understand he cannot see Dravid doing well as a captain. It's high time Ganguly, Sehwag, agarkar, dhoni are kicked out and RD given a young team.

Exactly, but not Dhoni. Dhoni needs a bit of luck too. Good Keeper, in fact. The rest all to be thrown away. Dravid may not captain anymore. He'll be unwilling. He may advise the professionals anonymously, for another year or so, and will retire from ODIs, and may be, Tests too.
