Pawar will not ask Tendulkar or any mumbai players to step out as this will have a huge impact for pawar's NCP in the elections. Non-Mumbai players (except Ganguly) may get hit from the BCCI as scape goats. No one in india will forget sachin's contribution to the team. But he should realise that now he is unable to cope with the current cricket played. So he should retire on his own and go out. Give some chance to youngsters....Give them a chance...don't ruin the careers of youngsters. So all budda's (ganguly, sachin, sehwag, agarkar) should retire from 1 day cricket and non performing yongsters like Bhajji, uthappa and modeler dhoni should be dropped. Sachin---Enough is Enough...Please do good...

The mumbai players will remain in the team ... now besides advertisements, they will also have additional responsibility of canvassing for Sharad Pawar's party in Maharashtra
with so much load you cannot expect them to devote much time for practice, can you ?

It will talk much about future and eye wash the public.... there will be no decision of change of team..... BCCI is not capable of that

Vengsarkar and Pawar can not take a decision like Chappel and are influenced by nasty politics....... so it will continue like that
I do not know the reasons as to who exactly is responsible for the dismal state of cricketing affairs in India. But what I do know is that never once did the Indian Team look as though they wanted to fight and give it their best shot. They were at best tottering, grovelling and whimpering. Mr. Tendulkar may have the best attitude, intentions, team spirit, spunk etc etc but that never did translate into runs. No one is questioning his attitude but his lack of form. Well Sirs, if you are playing for your country show it in your actions as well. We are riding on our past glories and feeling happy about it. We are carrying on the burden of the past with a bunch of people who are willing to go down without a fight. I may only have played cricket at the school level but I sure will fight back. I'd rather go down trying than meekly submit to my opponent. That is the issue Mr. Tendulkar Sir. I respect you fro all you have done for Cricket. You are a legend and will remain so but show me some runs on the board and the will to fight. Your recent dismissals only show that you have lost your guts and gall to fight back. We would like to see you play more but not in a manner that is demeaning your potential and capability. If all the Senior Players feel so strongly about Mr. Greg Chappell or his methods or his lack of understanding, why didn't all of you put your heads together and perform. It seems the entire contingent was too busy doing odd things just to get even. Well guys if this is what is putting your best foot forward and playing for the country, please do us a favour: Don't play. Whenever you are able to sort out this mess, come back and let you game do all the talking. THe fact remains that as opf date you guys are bad ambassadors for the game as well as the country. So take a back seat and come back only when you perform. LAST WORD: Mr. Tendulkar Sir, Did you ever spare a thought for us. Did you spare a thought for ud? Did you try to find what we have been going through? It does not behove of a man of your stature and calibre to be retorting in this manner. You are only destroying the halo that surrounds you. And Mr. Tendulkar Sir,please use a lighter bat, your timing is out because your reflexes are slow. Using a lighter bat just might help. The world cup is gone, Chappell has gone but for heaven's sake let your cricketing achievement die. PCIK UP THE STRINGS AND LET US ALL MOVE AHEAD. Sunil Mansingh

very good comments....appreciate every bit of ur writing..
It is a meaningless exercise to go in for an inquiry. The way the team played was there for everyone to be seen on the TV. But had there been any 'match fixing' it would be difficult to prove. Instead of postmortem the BCCI should look ahead and start from scratch to prepare for 2011 world cup. Ban sponsorships, ban cricketers from giving interviews, coaches should be given smaller periods of contracts and their extension/retention should be based on their performance. Do not go by the players past reputation. The performance on any given day only matters.
I think it is a good article though it clearly states the frustration shared by so many of us cricket fans. I dont know myself who the real cricket fans in this country are-the ones who burned effigies during our losses to Bangladesh and SriLanka or the ones who predicted that India will win the World Cup after the crushing victory against Bermuda!!! What will happen-people like us are going to write our views-some of us will counter-view (and maybe abuse each other). I think it's not about Indian team anymore-try convincing a Bengali that Ganguly has batted selfishly in the past or try arguing with a Maharashtrian about the diminishing abilities of Tendulkar or try debating with a South-Indian about unimaginative captaincy of Dravid- one will surely get the answer. Who is going to forget the boos the Indian team received after it lost to S.Africa in Kolkata in 2005 because 'their' Ganguly was not in the squad. Maybe, India will have a tough time playing anyteam in Mumbai if Sachin is dropped. Howcome teams like Australia have dropped players like M.Waugh from ODIs and yet have gone on to rebuild a good team and win World Cups? Even Hayden was dropped from ODIs and now he's back and perhaps in his best form. The question is not about individuals-its about the team. e are so divided amongst ourselves and so regionalists than how can we expect a team that is going to put up a united fight??

Yes. Big 3. But don't blame Dravid too much. He's definitely going to resign after the board meeting. He'll remain an anonymous adviser for an year or so, and then retire from both forms of cricket. Dravid served the country a lot better than the other two.

completely agree that Dravid has been a better package....on quality, commitment, attitude...and definitely on fitness

Agree with both of you friends!Dravid is anytime better than the other two. He's defenitely way above them in terms of fitness, commitment&unselfish&dedicated batting!
Abe hum ko mat nikalo. Sharad pawar ko nikalo. Wo hamein accha khlne ko bol raha hein. Abe mera paisa ginu ke accha kheloo. Sala yein sunfeast walo ne to mujse ad karvali aur paise ke badle sunfeast biscut ke 2 box khane ko bhej diya. Sala isliye to me world cum mein nahi khela. Aila mera idea kaisa laga.
Sachin, Sourav, Rahul all have served Indian cricket to great length. Let US INIDANS START RESPECTING OUR HEROS---let us not fall pery to petty tactics of Chappel brothers who are only trying to divert our attention.
We are out of the cup is a reality ,will it now change by mud slinging or disecting at who is at fault.
Greg and Ian are both only involved in creating controversies which are of no use to our nation and cricket all they can do is only damage it further.
Sachin, Sourav, Rahul are all Indian greats and we as a nation sholuld respect our heroes and
any body making allegations against them shoold be reprimanded.
Ian wants Sachin to retire ---
Who is he make a comment like that ---
Did India ask him for that advice---
Media carries surveys based on Ian's comment --
We should think thru' these questions and not get carried away and not wash our dirty linen in public depending on some unhealthy and unsolicited advice.
We sholud support our team in Bad Times rather than abusing.
I appeal to the nation once again to respect our players and if at all there is anybody who can scold or demand anything from our players it is we Indians

and what's ur education...."media carries surveys based on ian's comments"......stupid kadi...who r the participants in the survey ?
The seniors are acting like a bunch of pampered school kids who are running to Sharad pawar complaining that the headmaster is to strict and they want to change him. My suggestion is they should change schools.
But You have to agree it takes an Indian to make a match interesting like Ravi Bopara did for england. May be we should look at exporting all our seniors to bermuda, canada etc, then the world cup would be more interesting.
Very right sachin will be made the captain.Gavaskar the coach after all sachin wants to play 2011 WC.Without Gavaskar's help he won't be able to play till such a time. And also many mumbaikars will be present in the team
