Mr Arvind Lavakare~I really appreciate you for such a great post.Being a mumbaikar, you had the guts to show the facts&the courage to take on the "dim-witted sycophants ".Very well done.Hats off to you !
sachin gave joy when his contributions mattered to the team......can't recall any such performance in recent past. selctions shud be based on the merit of performance & going by that simple & universal yardstick......sachin doesn't deserve a place in the team with his current form.
And don't u remeber the innings mentioned in the article...sachin was selfishness exemplified. He wanted to avoid octroi on the free ferrari...he was greed exemplified. And with the number of times he is getting his stumps broken....he's a lame duck personified !
Nobody races an unfit & old horse just coz it ran well in its prime.
the article is simply too goood. u put it down straight and simple. tendulkar how big a man he may be, still has failed. And except fort he Sharjah cup, long long long ago, he has never come to india's rescue in situations needed most. No doubt, he has all the personal records, but what use are they, when thay cant win matches. But again, nothing is going to change, the sponspers will see to it that their interests are saved. The likes of Tendulkar, Sehwag, will continue to remain.Lots of prospects, who could perform better....losing their career even before it kicks off.
WHO are the brilliant youngsters that Vengsarkar didn't give to Chappell? 'Raina for Sehwag' was all that Chappell demanded and in last 10 innings, Raina averaged less that 20 and didn't score a 50! Could he have changed the things in world cup? Again, Chappell was lying that 'senior' group was opposing 'juniors'. True, in last few months, Indian batting is not flourishing under Chappell's coaching. But statistics clearly shows that within that it is Saurav, Rahul, Sachin, Dhoni, Yuvraj who were getting runs and NOT Chappell's boys Raina, Venugopal, Karthik. Sachin has also to open his mouth, as the truth is that there is hardly any group in the team. Except for Rahul and one or two, everyone - junior and senior - are fed up with Chappell. Once Sachin exposed this, Chappell decided to throw in the towel.
