Retain Sachin in team for all tours, but also ensure that Steve Bucknor is the Umpire for all the matches in which Sachin plays. Steve will ensure Sachin's early retirement from the game at least.
I really like Arvind's writing. Amidst all the crap that is flying around, he writes some sense. From CNN-IBN's pathetic attempts at vilifying the captain and coach just after our exit to the different 'expert' opinions doing the rounds on TV (yeah, that is literally becoming the idiot box, with them coming in all shapes and sizes), your current article and the previous one have been insightful.
I have nothing against any member of the Indian team. They are members of the Indian team because they have some talent. Else I could have been there too. However, it is this great Indian inability to accept folly and the even greater ability to cover up that has reduced the game itself to a pathetic sideshow in a main event that goes by the name 'reaping rupees'. We are the corporate nerve center, Australia is the world champion. What more needs to be said?
It is a really sad thing, because we could have been so much more...
btw...Gavaskar is too smart to agree to be the Indian coach...
