John Wright obviously allowed this to go on to the detriment of the team. I am not prepared to sit back and allow this to continue or we will get the same results we have been seeing for some time now.

It is time that all players were treated with fairness and equity and that good behaviours and attitudes are rewarded at the selection table rather than punished.

I can assure you of my very best intentions.

Yours sincerely,

Greg Chappell

Hats off to CHAPPEL

If ur calling Rahul Dravid a Puppet, dude get out of the bar ur in and sober up!]
Rahul Dravid has been one the the few captains for India who has retained his form and Captained well.
You can not blame one man for the failure of 11.
Please dude, think bout what ur saying the nxt time.

he is actually a puppet....dont know hat to do at the right time...he is not the right captain of indian team...
he is a good player..everything is good but...he dont have tat captians quality...

he is a cool person...but we dont need cool people...we need cool and quality people...

a captain shoud have captains quality ..not a batsmans quality...
he is a wall but he dont know how to captain india...

gangualy is not a good batsman like dravid, ..but he has tat captains quality in him ...
right man sud be there for the right place...

dravid should have opted for better combinations like

1. sachin sewag
2. gangualy dravid
3 yuvaraj karthik
4 doni patan/ agarkar
5. patel kumble/ harbajin
6 Sreeshant

use players acordingly...

no need of more openers...
spiners shud be used according to the condition of pitches and opponents...

for eg:- for barmuda...use of harbijan singh
against srelanka...use kumple

use pathan against sreelanka instead of agrkar
use sreeshant atleast in one match...bcoz he is a wicket taking bowler.. thinking bowler

we sud have used kumble against bengaladesh and sreelanka...

sewag is a natural opener and we have seen him bating with sachin as his companion

we can look for other option like gangualy and sachin...which already worked in past years...

we had the best team...but using the right player for the right match against right opponents on a right kind of track...

but now its laready over..lets see which coach will takeover as our new coach.. john wright?

anyway ... we heard some commets frm sachin too

who mostly wont speak against any person in particular...
chapel made somany experiments....even in the world cup...thats y we failed..

ookk

lets stop here and think positively..

let everything will be alright...

will the puppet follow suit?

Thank go Greg is not Coach of Indian team
by ss ss on Apr 05, 2007 12:58 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Greg is great batsman and may be a good Captain. But it is not necessary that a great batsman can be a good Coach.
He is not good coach. He wanted to lead the team with Captain's attitude not as Coach. He never had team trust. Team got divided. Once he is gone, you will hear story from players. Sachin, Kumble already told.He is leaving... good for Indian cricket. Amarnath or Patil.. a good choice.Patil would be 1st choice as he has the capability to deal with different minds.

Patil is not at Number 1 compared to Jimmy. When Kenya made semi final last time was purely due to luck. Not by thier own effort. Since the other countries did not play with them they got the points. Though I appreciate they gave a shock to SL

No coach can change India unless so called legend go out. we make them superstars(like Dhoni). In 2 or 3 yrs time Indian cricket team will be no 11 or 12 position in world

Sorry for all the politics in our cricket establishment. You are a great guy and you would do well. The loss is for BCCI. Indians do not like people telling the truth on their face. That's what the problem. Forget about Indian cricket and start coaching a good team soon,

If Greg is really telling the truth, he should have told it prior to the failure . Not after the fall to blame on the team by disowning his responsibilities.

The problem with India is that we are never used to a face off. We like to beat around the bush. Chappell gets straight to the point and we are not able to face it. Chappell is a very good coach but if he is not considered a team memmber by the Indian team and try to make their own decision , there's nothing much left to say. Everyone talks about the 1983 World cup and everyone chants 1983..1983...1983... , Open your eyes and read the fact.Team Australia who have won it 3 times in a row and hopefully their 4th time this year.We are still talking about winning it around 24 years ago which is absurd. In My Opinion . India has not won fully on its own merit in the 1983. Remember in 1983 , in a later series , India was beaten badly by the WI in the series that was played. How do you expect a whole team to be out of form ? Its a shame to say so. One or two players may be out of form but the fact that any 11 member that are supposed to play in the world cup go out of form quickly suggests the quality of players that we have. We have thrown mud on ourselves literally.Indian coaches are not good enough for the team and any other foreign coach would think twice before coaching India considering what has happened. we will have 20 people making decisions for the team and the very motive of playing is killed. How long before the Indian team gets into form is another unanswered question. Should India even play cricket is for the other users to decide, in the meanwhile goodbye greg ,we will miss you.

i am surprised by one thing, why did media crow in a loud voice when India beat WI in the warm-up game for 85runs.The truth is there is a cotorie in Indian cricket otherwise I am really surprised how a bowler like Ajit agarkar who doesnt even know how to bowl is in the Indian team.agarkar always bowls thinking there are 10stumps to be hit wen only there is 3(Wide outside the off-stump), this from a person who has played abt 183ODI's.

Please for gods sake dont make Greg a scapegoat, maybe Tendulkar was voicing his concern for Greg pointing fingers at him.How can Tendulkar say tht past coaches havent pointed fingers at him and now Greg is questioning him.It mite be past coach didnt have the guts to question Tendulkar. The only thing with Tendulkar is he created a lot of personal records but left team in the lurch wen it was needed most from him...It was said Sehwag caught hold of Wright's collar, this is how our team players behave with the coach.

Sehwag's indiscipline was pointed out by Desai, and Dravid went on air sayin who is this Desai. Then Dravid supported Sehwag for his past reputation, in that case based on past reputation lets tell Kapil dev and Gavaskar also to join the Indian team.We need to cut things which are meant to be cut, we shouldnt hold them in our hands and thik what will the other fellow think.Otherwise we will always keep thinking with our head than with our brain...
