No Indian Coach !!!
by bugmenot on Apr 04, 2007 08:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Simply they may creage regionalism !!! so ther is a easy chance for groupism (as already it is there)...

So choice should be a foreign coach...

My choice would be (these people have transformed their team from nothing to superstar team)

1. John wright
2. Steve waugh
3. Arjuna Ranatunga

Before appointing the coach, they should ask about coach's strategy and psychology !!! if it suits for indian culture, they can go with that coach.

BRILLIANT WAY TO GO.....GREG!
by ALIRIO SALDANHA on Apr 04, 2007 08:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You were straight in your ways, as a Coach! and I must say, you did everything in the best interests of the Indian cricket team.

Rubbish are the comments made by many - that you as an Australia, would be pro-Australian, and anti-India, in your assignment as a coach. No sane thinking person will just you in that way.

The thoughts you expressed in your statement, spells absolute diplomacy and discretion. Great indeed! You did not provoke anyone, and even praised the press and the people and everyone about you.

Farewell, Greg! Some other country deserves a great coach like you, not India! I am sure you can do greater things with ANY other cricketing team, around the globe, 'cause of the excessively high level of politiking in Indian cric.

You did well to resign, and bow out, gracefully.

Looking forward to A GREATER FUTURE FOR YOU, without the hassles of Indo-politics.

Players!! accept facts exposed by Greg
by Bali Reddy on Apr 04, 2007 08:29 PM  Permalink

You all famous HARD EARNED and STAR Palyers of the country happy with resignation of Greg Chappel. But you forgotten to learn some basic facts and hardcore ideas, strategies from our (you all players are blamed for making him scape goat for your selfish needs and upmanship in the team) coach to become great team (not like traditional indian team who aspires to get in to the team with lot of hopes of to become billioneers on this platform).

All players are selfish except one or two good players who really cried for not making India in to super eights..we knew who are those (Captain: who doesn't hold players as a team with bunch of selfish, greedy players like Bengal Tiger, ZK, Chucker, Nawab of Delhi, GOD from Mumbai and Fans: Many who watched with lot of hopes on these famous five idiots)

No coach whether from Indian or Abroad can change these players attitude towards the game except themselves to retrospect into their commitment to the team winning and flying Indian Colors with every win.

Hope all these famous stars or dada's or models will be removed from Indian Team and get fresh faces with bunch of quality, aggressiveness, committed and NICE guys to make better team for the future of Indian Cricket.

What do you say all Indian Fans......?

I know what is going to happen next.

Same non performing players will be selected for bangladesh Tour, because they are going to cry in front of BCCI and will put all the blame on Chappell.Dont select coach for players sake, select for Teams intrest. If you are not going to follow international standards then you are just covering up the problem, one day Cricket team will become like our Hockey Team.

Its not against any lobby..... just to state some facts... Greg Chappel was the coach of South Australia in the domestic competion in australia and there south australia came last in the standings...... a person of the stature of steve waugh advised saurav not to go for greg chappel as coach..... when chappel was appointed coach in may 2005 a reaction of australian playes especially south australian players was taken and most of the mebers in the team which included greg blewett, darren lehman and jason gillespie expressed thier doubts about the quality and expertise of greg chappel as a coach.... for whatever form sachi, saurav, sehwag showed... its is very very obvious that greg chappel very shrewedly used one player against the other to keep his place and image intact... he used the media and email tactics so often...but finally he just tried to play to many games with to many players at the same time.... its so well documented that ian frazer the bio mechanics expert is the cause of irfan pathan losing his bowling skills thanks to the methodology that was adopted.. the so called scientific methodology..... the way greg chappel was lazing back on the table when bangladesh was thrashin india just proved how concerned he was... without remorse he was just watching the match without any emotions... sorry but i have ssen other australian coaches... simpson,, marsh, whatmore, king, buchanan, moody... but none played as many games withinn the team to dismantle teh etam and the moral of the team..... remember a gentleman like kumble who would never and will never speak spitefully about anyone came out strongly against chappel... welll hopw betetr things will follow now... cuz we have landed in such a deep hole that the only way is UP

rahul deshpande, chappel was not using anyone for anything. His already had a contract till the WC so he didnt have to hold on to anything.

Have some sense and think before you scribble something.

It is the seniors who were insecure who needed ot hold to to politics to be in the team.
Seniority over rationality is a plague in our country, be it companies (even pvt companies), govt. or just our attitude in general.

new coach and sachin
by shibananda biswas on Apr 04, 2007 08:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

John Buchanan is the first choice...India need a coach who will be very good at man management and also will stay away from focus and media...also BCCI need to be strict in its rules and should give the coach and captain full support...India can only do well if it can nullify its star studded system and try to produce sporting pitches for domestic cricket(not the flat ones).
I am also a Sachin fan but plz stop supporting Sachin blindly...can any one show few examples except from sharjah where Sachin has won matches for India...He is the king of flat tracks...he has scored only 155 runs in last 11 matches against Australia and South Africa...at an average of 14...for past few years he has been scoring runs against the minows whereas a player of his caliber should stop playing matches against them...but he will continue to do so for records...everyone of us now knows that how he plays when he is nearing a century...once upon a time he used to dominate all the bowlers around the world and now a debutant or an irregular bowler can make him struggle for runs...can anybody explain why there is not a single innings of Tendulkar in top 100 innings???I think it is high time for him to retire...

oh!! man thanks for something which i always wanted to write, our so called idol Mr sachin tendulakar must be realising now that you cant fool all the people all the time,ok fine you have good technique, good very good but tell me me sachin what the hell is of the use of such technique when it elopes the moment india is in a difficult situation....sorry man you can not be compared to steve waugh, brian lara or for that matter injmam ul haque, these people win matches for their country......sorry for being little rude and using only small fonts but i cant help it because sachin has become so pedestrian that no superlative suits him anymore.

you had a great time man, just say goodbye now and have a nice new innings at your restaurant, may be it needs you more than your country.goodluck

Good one Rajesh and Shibananda. You both have virtually written all the words that were in my mind. One cant fool all the people all the time...!

Unfortunately after his interview in TOI and after Greg Chappel's retirement, I will be praying for his failure everytime he bats....very unfortunate but diehard fans dont have a choice. Sachin put himself in this situation and has no one else to blame for this.

Guys, I second your opinion. Great fan of sachin once upon a time, was fooled by some of his performances but when it mattered the most the guy is no where to be seen and the same goes for minnow basher Ganguly. Pity that players like Sachin, Ganguly, Agarkar, Harbhajan, Sehwag are trying their best (in a wrong full way) to keep their places in side and inturn stopping the new wave of more hungry players to wear Indian blue. Manjerekar said it right - Chappell held a mirror to indian cricket and he found some real selfish players.

you may not have been a good coach, your abrasive nature came in the way of good man managment, your short temper is also not a very good attribute, but all said and done it is not the coach who goes out and plays, it is the 11 players and if those 11 superstars cant win a match against Bangladesh there is nothing anyone or even GOD can do.

Fall of the secret emissary of ACB
by TOI Ad on Apr 04, 2007 08:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Finally Indian cricket is purged. The wicked soul of the undercover emissary of the Australian Cricket Board has left us and we are blessed. Now its time to find a new truely Indian coach and a captain with balls and not bangles. BCCI will also do well if they order a judicial inquiry to prosecute the wicked soul Greg Chappell before he leaves the country who has taken Indian cricket back by atleast 4 years.

What you said DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

It is the players who play, not the coach, Mate!

You got to wear the right thinking cap or hat or topee friend.

Greg didn't tell them to lose against Bangla or Lanka, so that he could achieve his role (as you suppose) as an emissary of ACB.

The records show that he took the cricketing level to a greater level, then it was before. And even the players said so, in their earlier comments, when they were in winning ways!

This debacle, the WC, is the undoing of TEAM INDIA! If Sach, Gangs, Wags, and the rest cannot face up to the minnows challange, tell me who is responsible? Greg?

You got to use a thinking man's filter, then you will get a smoking man's taste.

Its not cheap at all. All new things have to prosper from where it starts. Post John Wright and beginning of Greg Chappell, Indian cricket has only gone down. Think thru your mind and be rational. Lets not admire a gora like our zamindars did in pre independance. Hope all of you have seen Lagaan and remember the traitor who was an ass licker of the goras. Lets not be one of them and lets support only Indians to the Tee.
