Chappel is a good coach but
by Dias Thomas on Apr 04, 2007 06:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Greg Chappel is a professional coach. But he is not a successfull player manager especially in indian scenario. The one reason is that australian psychology is different from indian psychology.

hello,

see the below stats

First, India's overall ODI record under Greg Chappell:

Played 62, won 32, lost 27. It's a fair record - more victories than defeats, a win-loss ratio (1.18) which is better than that achieved by West Indies (1), Pakistan (0.94) and England (0.65), and only marginally behind Sri Lanka (1.22).

and do also that of ur sachin since 2005 except minnows..

Yuvraj Singh 5 209 52.25 1/ 1

Rahul Dravid 9 248 31.00 0/ 3

Virender Sehwag 10 247 27.44 0/ 2

Irfan Pathan 8 148 21.14 0/ 0

Mohammad Kaif 8 142 20.28 0/ 0

Sachin Tendulkar 11 155 14.09 0/ 1

Sachin Should Quit
by Deepinder Singh on Apr 04, 2007 06:21 PM  Permalink

First of all No Player should come and speak like this. Sachin is a great player but this is not the correct way to answer. He should have done something like Saurabh Ganguly to Answer.
I think its time for his retirement coz even making Tons in upcomming bangladesh Tour couldnt clear his performance.

I fully agree with Maya. Ganguly was not thrown out of the team, except Zaheer, Yuvraj, Bhaggi no one raised their voices. Seniors like Tendulkar was mum since he tried to save his own a..... Dravid more clever than Sachin decided not to open his mouth. An old saying Dumb people do not have enemy's. Everyone knows the truth. Rahul knew that the coveted post can only be taken away from him by Saurav. Rahul after the world cups early exit , as a true sportsman yu should take the moral responsibility for the defeat ( as done by Inzy ) and let BCCI decide whom to select as captain. In the meantime
let Greg chapell continue as a coach so that he can bring some fresh talent in the Indian Team.

Interview of Niranjan Shah, BCCI Secretary.
by samir mandal on Apr 04, 2007 06:20 PM  Permalink

I have read the interview given by BCCI Secretary Mr Niranjan Shah . First of all person like Mr Shah should not be selected as BCCI Secretary, since he has no exposure to Test cricket/ One Dayers not even Ranji matches.
In his interview either he has said that these are his personal views or will be decided by the working Committee. Why the hell is he giving such interviews? Such F........ should be shown the exit door . Moreover Govt should have some control over BCCI so that they do not cross their limits.

who are they?
by on Apr 04, 2007 06:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Who the hell are cricket board members? are they chosen by indian nationals? they are self declared board members powered by some politicians. They are playing with our imotions. May be Sachin didn't played well in recent past, but by heart he is a true indian and one of the greatest players of india. I think indian govornment should take some decision against indian cricket board for the debacle in world cup, they are the only reason behind our failure. They are playing durty politics. Who is niranjan Shah or sarad pawar? What is their comitment for indian cricket. first kick them out. All of them should be thrown out from the board. Otherwise our cricket will be like our hockey or others sports.

Great News For Indian Cricket
by Rajarshi saha on Apr 04, 2007 06:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Guys,

Indian cricket looked back during Greg's period as coach. He tried to put the ball in other's court everytime he came accoross failure. This is not the way to show his greatness. To bring the youngstars in the team started long back and 2003 world cup team was the prove of that.Team was much more better balanced.Dont forget Mr Ganguly supported the youngstars like Yuvraj-Kaif-Zahir,Nehera,Patel and lots..sif you follow the cricket just go back during John Wright 's time..India done preety good...so Mr greg didnt do anything great, neither Mr More and co.The vision/Mission 2007 WC also the proven result for Mr Greg. Enough.

With all due respect, I dont understand when you say Greg chappell put the balls in other court when there was failure. Your arguemnt is self defeating. Greg is not playing in the ground. He can only show how it can be played. But the only the players has to carry that forward and execute that in field. If you dont do that then automatically whether Greg or any other coach could have told that you are not performing. What is wrong in that ?

With more than 10 yrs of exp and nearly played 300 ODIs, do you expect to someone to perform like this ?
