Correct. What Sachin did is unprofessional. The professional way to do it is to let Chappell say what he wants and have it leaked to the media with the help of sms'es to media people, indirect means such as the "close sources suggest" means or the "oops, how stupid of me to include a top journalist's name in the BCC field of my e-mail to the BCCI (no pun intended)".
But how could Sachin do this to all of us? How could he? How can anyone be so unprofessional as to speak his mind to the media? And that too directly? It's heresy.
So what if the entire Indian team (except for the ever-silent Rahul Dravid) is against the Chappal...err Chappell. It is wrong to offend the coach like this. Even in the ages of war, kings would give special treatment to mercenaries. Come on, you pay for them remember?

Well said patriot! What good would happen by talking to BCCI? They would only sweep it under the rug and then it would be "business" as usual for them. Sachin did absolutely right by letting the public know. Chappell is a miserably failed coach and what he is doing is blaming his team instead. Thats is acceptable to this Niranjan Shah? Where was he when Chappell questionned players attitude in public?
Chappels decision is good for all incluidng Chappel. Hope Chappels wishes are honoured by the Board. This is step no 1 in the right direction. Lets see what comes next. Tell me India why should any of the three Rahul Sachin or Saurav retire? Tell me India which newcomer you can rely upon? Utthuppa, Kartick, Raina or who better than these three? Unless you find suitable new players you cannot simply ask the old guards to take rest. I feel the coach and the captain failed to perform the role they were supposed to. Coach must keep watch over the old tested players. If someone is failing it is not always prudent to remove him. You analyse as a coach the reasons of such failures. Give him confidence. Dont make him shaky. Tell him to change his batting stance, tell himto change the weight of the bat. With age people lose a few things but gain many, like experience and confidence. This you will have to honour as a coach. It is very easy to simply pass on the buck to senior players or players. It is more difficult to extract the best ouf your limited resources. It requires prudence and patience. Chappel lacked both of it. Dravid was equally hopeless. He did not make up the lapses and lacuna of the coach. As a batsman Dravid Sachin and Saurav has still left a good amount of cricket in them but may never be upto the next cup.

It is good that Greg Chapell has retired He was wasting his time trying to imbibe professionalism and team ethics into the Group
He forgot that selfish play and politics is in our culture

Coach is the boss in every game. Player should play according to the strategy laid out by the coach. In india, the player like tendulker is greater than the game and the Coach. Indian cricketers believe themselves greater than coach and the game.

guys I feel good that india have crashed out of the world cup. bcz then we would have missed the excitement and entertainment that we r gettin now. I think Greg vs Sachin is a bigger draw than world cup.
Truth always hurts. recent statistics speak for themselves not sachin himself but many of the senior members who have failed to deliver when required and how can one expect these seniors to motivate young players. Recent poor performances has been going on for a while. if there were grievences, it should have been addressed well before the world cup and measures taken to deal those. If anyone who is not committed to the cause should step down. National pride is more important than individual. The problem starts from the top the BCCI, whose refusal to learn from mistakes. When something is not right the mantra is start from the BASICS. Creating a ideal environment for the players to widen the skills i.e. providing bouncy and wickets with pace will equip players get used to when playing overseas. Bowling, fielding and the list endless. Most importantly the mental attitude and the commitment as Kapil Dev put it. When India last won the world cup it was not the strongest team, but they won purely because of the mental attitude and commitment. Hope these comments would help
This was exactly what was expected from the master blaster for a very long time when novel treatment was meted to colleagues and fellow cricketers in whose company the little master made Team India shine. Unfortunately it took such a long time to show non cricketers and others ruling cricket what is cricket all about. Not so long ago our guys played like tigers chasing oppositions all over the cricketing world. Of late they were transformed into teddy bears for it is easy to deal with teddy bears than with reality. Our great cricketers within a period of little over a year were made toothless, cuddly, tigers without claws, tigers without menace. There is plenty of top cricket yet to come from Sachin, Dravid, Kumble, Saurav, Laxman, Viru, Ajit and our younger cricketers. Well done Sachin. From now on Team India can only rise. There is no further nadir any more.
We indians are super hypocrites. Few days back when PCB said that no more foreign coach for them, we were ridiculing pakis, bashing them etc. now they way Greg has left indian coaching, which foreign coach will take Indian coaching. Mind it that before JohnWright, we had lots of indian coach, KapilDev,Srikant, Wadekar etc and all of them failed india badly. Everyone is after money not after winning matches. Now we need a shrewed coach who can manage indian players' pshyche more than teaching cricket to them.

you really think coaches are there to teach the game? I think they are in it for the money and we will definately have another Foreign coach...Champu has left with embaressment of his contract not being renewed...he's blaming the players what has really done for the cricket team in India but destroy them till very end
Problem is with BCCI, selectors and coach, sachin never indulge himself in these politics. After reading his views it seems that he is really unhappy. But we really need change.
ALSO according to Mr.Shah "But it is not the end of the world." its true Mr. Shah but it shlould be end of dirty politics and it is a request that this hsould be the last time with stuff like this. WE NEED WORLD CUP not advertisers.
