One thing is for sure. Indians are immensely weak in heart. They never had or will have the iron power professionalism to fight out the opposition. They are lacking the true zeal. This is what GREG CHAPPEL wanted the Indian team to pervade with. Indian did not have the will power to accept that. They only want the easy ways to success. DISCIPLINE is what is lacking in the team. All of them want to be SUPERSTARS and not WINNERS. This is the fate of any sports, India participates in. And to the HARDCORE INDIAN FANS: "PLEASE, ACCEPT THE DEFEAT OF THE INDIAN TEAM. THEY NEVER, EVER DESERVED IT. IN SPORTS, WINNERS ARE ALWAYS CHERISHED, LOSERS ARE DUMPED. SPORTS IS AN AREA WHERE YOU FIGHT LIKE RUTHLESS WARRIORS TO WIN A GAME. YOU WILL NOT FIND A PLACE FOR YOUR DROP OF EMOTION. AND INDIANS HAVE NEVER IN THEM, TO FIGHT. IT HAS HAPPENED FOR AGES, WHEN WE WERE ALWAYS CONQUERED BUT NEVER CONQUERED. WE ARE SEEING THE SAME HERE. THIS WILL BE THE STORY OF INDIAN CRICKET."
The one person who would very much happy with Sourav coming back in team is Tendulkar, as no one would then question his place (as naturally if Ganguly/Irfan etc can be sacked on ground of performance) than why not Tendulkar.
But as luck would have it, now Pawar is BCCI boss and Vengsarkar as Chief Selector, Sachin can do whatever he wants to do, criticize coach, blame other. History repeating itself you would say, before Dalmiya/Ganguly now Pawar/Vengsarkar/Tendulkar.
Very sad moment for Indian cricket.
Another issue every Indian has to ponder (or ask) on Sachin blaming coach. That whether Sachin was playing for Greg Chappel or India (and its zillion fans). The stroke he played and got OUT was forced by Greg Chappel or 17years of cricket experience is not worth playing against Bangladesh (OR its worth only playing Bermuda????????????)
Gavaskar was literary push by people to leave the team same thing needs to be done again.
TV channels should bring all players, coach and bcci officials in one room and show live like thay show in reality shows. I bet it will have much higher viewership than if India continued in the world cup.
It is unfortunate that a player of Sachin's calibre has targetted the life and safety of a Coach forcing him to face the wrath of millions of angry fans knowing fully well they had vandalised property. Not only that the entire team had to arrive in India under heavy security in the dead of the night for safety reasons. Despite all that Sachin blamed the Coach. I have zero respect left for him. What a freakin coward. let him choke on the millions he made outta endorsemnts deals.

well despite everything, chappell did not stop from commenting.
Sachin had to come out and say what he said only because chappell was playing politics and trying to spread nonsense. So why blame sachin.. he spoke last when it had become too much...

Politics played by players and officials is the reason the Team is in shambles.
Both Sachin and Ganguly are past their prime they need to be kicked outta the team and boo'ed by fans whenever they play. Their overrated titles and sorry performances have burdened the team. They have played for many years, how much longer will they deprive a young blood the chance to be a great player??
Sachin is making millions outta the seat he occupies in the Cricket team, that is why he won't give it up easily despite his bad form.
Nothing the Coach could have said can erase the fact that the Indian Team played badly in the WC, the entire world witnessed their sorry ass performances, they were thrashed by a newbie teenaged Bangladeshi team. He did not put the team to a shameful defeat at the WC, the players on the field did.
All Sachin needed to say was MY FELLOW COUNTRY MEN AND WOMEN I AM SORRY I FAILED YOU.
I do not understand BCCI policy. Any of the board member is free to air his opinion in media. So can the coach why only the sanction against the players making their point of view to the media. Let the public buy or leave what the players say. Why this restriction?
Shame on SACHIN for targetting the Coach and blaming everyone else while conveniently playing the brokenhearted victim..what a loser! I would have respected him if he held himself responsible and apologised to millions of fans for his poor performance. He is answerable for it we don't need to read his views on others. Instead we get a melodramatic outburst on how is broken bcuz the World cup was also his dream blasting the Coach. BS. World Cup was not a dream that one wakes up from, it was his goddamn JOB that he failed at. Resign and Retire Sachin with whatever dignity you have for the sake of your glorious past before your fans desert you.

Well my dear fellow, that is what happens when you doubt the integrity of an honest man! How dare chappell doubt sachin's integrity and attitude.
We all know how sachin is. In the peak of match-fixing era, the bookies did not bet until sachin was out. That is his integrity.
And chappell? His integrity is that he will sway according to the prevailing wind. When everyone wanted ganguly out, he also wanted ganguly out. When ganguly started playing well, he also was happy and said it was because of him. Ditto with zaheer.
Before the worldcup he says this is the best team india could have. As soon as they start losing, they are villians. He just follows popular opinion.
An honest player always puts his sport ahead of everything. When money deals take priority over practice time and poor form leads to bad performances on the field...his integrity is breached thus under suspicion.
A Coach is a puppet in the hands of BCCI biggies playing favorites with Superstar players who refuse to respect him. Players like Ganguly are the bullies who refuse to quit and come back in the team backed by regional politics. A coach is then helpless.

by Howzzat on Apr 05, 2007 12:25 AM Permalink
If he has not opened his mount then what else he has opened. He is the Big B...... of Indian cricket. Just to avoid the nation shitting in his mouth, he is openeing his mouth on Chappels s... to gain sympathy. Both Sachin and Sourav should be thrown out. Sourav was the brain behing brining in Chappel. He should be taken for a roal ride since he is the price of Bengal.
Planning to make a hattrick of world cup wins and considering India as their main opponents due their super star batsmen and turbonator etc. I feel Australia's Preparation for World Cup started about 22 moths ago, when they planted Greg Chappell right in the middle of the Indian team and look what fantastic job he has done i shattering the harmony of a perfectly balanced team. Ricky ponting must be relieved and applauding Greg Chappell's success with his game plan! I'm sure many will agree with me

100% correct.I have my friends this around 10 months back when Ganguli was neglected and Irfan was getting chances to make use of his batting skills. Now he is not a perfect bowler and nor the batsman. He has planed to distroy the Indian strong team and he succeeded and many of our idiots and corrupt BCCI authority like Kiran More, Niranjan Shah and Lalit Modi has helped him to acheive his goal. These persons are like the kings and other who ditched India and helped british company to capture India in old time.
Sachin has been a great player and has his supporters as well as critics. But I am happy to see one thing - that ALL Maharashtrians have not FANATICALLY taken up his cause. At least, this is something better than the case of Saurav Ganguly, where almost all bengalis are fanatically supporting him as if Saurav is more important and bigger than INDIA, and are totally blind to his poor performance and politics.

Good that you have taken vote in both Bengal and Maharastra, and came up with the result. We are supportning Sourav only when you people(Like Maharastrian) think him as a player from Bengal, not from India, and Sachin 'was' a great player. Stop praising him now. Very shortly he is going to make another world record i.e. Making maximum '0' in oneday.

I suppose, then, that some Maharashtrians are simply not proud enough of Sachin. Which is a shame.

dude. why bring bengalis and maharashtrians in here? sachin is a national figure. and he has played more games for india than for mumbai. please dont start something out of context here.
Putting blame on the coach is no good. What can a coach do when the players have attitude problems.Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid are becoming too big for their boots. How did Bangladesh defeat India? They played for their country, and they did hard work on the field. indians are too slopy, and the maximum blame for this should go to Dravid, he is the one who has done maximum damage to India, when everybody is fielding first after winning the toss, it was Dravid who took to batting first, it was his decision, and that cost India the match.Indian players, specially stars are known for their sloppiness.Tendulkar has been a failure throughout and he can bat now only against Bermuda or Canada.Records are for records, nobody is interested in the records, what everybody is interested is to see you work hard and not to throw away your wicket. Tendulkar must have got annoyed with Chappel, cos his 7younger brother Ian that other day has called for Tendulkar to retire as he is not the best batsman in the world. tendulkar lacks consistency, how can a good batsman fail for so long, how come Jayasurya and Lara score runs most of the time. Chappel has done a marvelous job for India, and he should not be blamed.

If you check Chappel's outburst on media, it was not Dravid's decision to bat first against Bangladesh. It was some "senior" players' decision and they have framed that decision before hand. I really can't understand why Dravid has to be blamed. Captain can cheer the players up, set fields for the bowler. Its in the hands of the batsmen to deliver the goods. You know the score against SL, you have to play sensibly to counter the initial overs, and keep your wickets. You can't blame Dravid for this.

1.Sourav plays a lofted shot and throws his wicket away after being well set in the bangladesh match - Dravid has to be blamed for that.
2. Yuvraj same as Sourav in the Bangladesh match thows his wicket away - Once again Dravid has to be blamed for that.
3. Robin Uthappa keeps playing lofted shots in the crucial Sri Lanka match - Dravid has to be blamed for that.
4. Sourav out of frustration not able to time his shots does the brilliant thing of stepping out to slash at the ball (Once again in the crucial Sri Lanka Match) - yes once again blame Dravid for that.
Can we be real and honest. Lets stop finding scapegoats for things that india did not do right wiht the basics.

If that is the case what is the difference between a good and a bad captain and a good and a bad coach?
RE:RE:Sachin should retire

With rare exception , mostly people's and Media's Definition of A good captain is when he wins and a bad captain is when he fails. There were times in back to back matches the Captain was called bad after a loss and Smart after winning in a span of one match. THe bottom line is even if a captain is astute, brilliant or smart he cannot be responsible if individual players do not take responsibility to see the game through. This is what has plagued Indian Cricket right through. Just go through the history of Indian Cricket and see how times when India should have won matches we have lost. "ONE" not the only , but "ONE" of the most common occurence has been that totally set batsmen just "gift" their wickets away, either because they complete their century, or they just lose their patience. I have said it earlier Australia wins matches because every player tries to play his game till the end. It is a simple concept which the media calls it hard. Sure Dravid did make bad calls. But which captain has not. Here it is blown out of proportion because of the world cup and its format. But to say that he is a bad captain based on the loose definiton of a good and bad catpain is ridiculous. IF Dravid had not stayed and continue playing his long innings with Pakistan and Australia would we have won those series????? So whoever was the Captain was a good captain in those series was a "Good" captain ?????

how can you blame robin uttappa now?he was just playing his natural game.remember that he got his position in the team due to his attacking style of batting which he showed in the WI series. He just lacks experience.Just give these youngsters time and they will prove their mettle.
