Every innovative ideas has it's success & failure, i pray it must get success so that BCCI should get it's proper place.
I was seriously thinking about such an effort , for such a common man that I am. Bravo Zee.. Competition is good for indian cricket . This is a country of 100 crores. There are millions of kids apiring to play in our team, but we keep the same outdated players for a generation or more. Guys goto www.cricketvotes.com and vote on various issues including Zee's initialive on a new cricket academy.
Excellent, daring and what not . I remember somebody in one of these forums refered about a parallel league. Dont remember who?? But this is a great beginning and a excellent brains. Hats off to the Zee team. Having said that , zee should ensure clean and honest deals or else already deppressed fans will unleash their frustration on you. Best of Luck.
This seems parallel to Ranji. More interesting because the 4 international players can be from any country, if I got that right. Kind of English county cricket.
Zee has done it before with music. It may work out. Super!

You are on right track, this will be like county, with more young Indian talents coming up for national team, provide BCCI doesnot poke their dirty nose to spoil this league.
I am sure BCCI will play spoilsport by barring "zee league" players from playing for ranji /india. Though a good move , not sure how successful it will be.
if it all works out fine, the seniors will have to fite for their place in the team. i wish the domestic cricket is made more exciting..test matches coupled with twenty20 and the like. more tv coverage etc.

If it all works well, current seniors may try to take high road saying they are too good for the league or that it's too taxing to play so many games, and would say they are not interested. May be Laxman, Kaif, Kumble, etc. can join the league.
Its an excellent venture by Subhash to identify young and promising talent which will have killer instinct. Its a big scale project and I certainly hope BCCI lends Zee all the support to assure their project is a successful one.
With that being said, this project will not change the outlook of the Indian Cricket in days, it is only being introduced in the 20-20 version with later moving onto the 50 over regular ODI format. But cheers for a great idea. It will motivate a lot of young talent from different parts of India as they will be employeed by ICL. Later on during the course of the project, they may look to have a similar league for the longer version of the game as well. I hope BCCI allows Zee to use their stadiums.
