Man doesn't anybody see that the Team India never got involved in any sort of controversies in all throughout the period when John Wright was the coach, and the day Chappel became the coach, India was almost at competition to Pakistan, as far as controversies were concerned. His motto was to disorganize a good team, bring up divisions in the team members, and destroy a team that had the best chance to win the World Cup. And he succeeded.!!!

a good joke winning a world cup.that should be in ur dreams only, the so called seniors even wih so called tons of experience cannot take bull by horns they look more like frigtnrd rabits in front of bowlers.even with somuch ofexperience if they feel thratened it shows their mental make up. comon akshat ur players r chickens even in front of ordinary bowling
As we all know that Selection Comiitee and BCCI and even the player always says taht final 11 Players are selected by the Coach And Cpatain, so how can u blame on Selection comiitee that they have selected the wrong team , in one side our former coach blame that i did not get the best team , why he has commentd after selection , that he was satisfied with the team. And one thing we should not forgot that on hte ground level only cpatain and coach decide the strategy , and we cab pin point the cause of fialure at the strategy level in Bangladesh Match. I agree that it was a low scoring match and those matches are won only by getting the opposite team All out. So, why dravid has decided to continue with Power Play after 10 Overs , when he can chhosed that on later stage. Similarly hy there is no change in bowling when agarkhar is no performing , is he a chappel or dravid favourite or he is there to make india lose the match. What happen to our batting line - up ,why is there is no change in line up when is collistion , some yaer ago u can send srinath at no. 4 for brake in wicket falling and fast cscoring, why not in that game when u have agarkar who is all-rounder god knows how at no. 4. These are very same issue and are to be decided at ground by Coach and Captain.

agarkaks batting is a big joke, he is in ahurry to be in the pavilion at the earliest so why not send him as a opener
Its Pawar BCCI President - reason very amazing one - It all started when Chappell landed in Mumbai with his beautiful wife JUDI & that's where Mr.Pawar started it all - "LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT" - So guys its Pawar who is responsible & moreover Chappell is still retained as a Consultant again its Pawar who is responsible.

the main problem in indian cricket is the bcci chairman mr. pawar he should be kicked out and everything will be okay. how can such a post be given to a person who has never holded a cricket bat. bloody power hungry politician his name should be changed to sharat(betting) power
Is it true that before being appointed coach of Indian CHAPPEL ASKED FOR FINANCIAL HELP? Is it true that CHAPPEL AND KIRON MOREY had buiseness patnership in some form or other? Who will tell the real truth?
Greg Chappel was never fit to be the coach of the Indian Cricket team. It was like a job & environment misfit. It is good that he has gone. Perhaps normalcy will return & the focus shifts back to Cricket Matches rather than off the field news

U r right. This is the guy who ordered his brother to bowl under arm when he was captain to win a 20K$ prize. What do u expect from him?
Reading the article by Arvind Lavakare dated Apr 03, I couldn't but agree with the author.
What happened in the 07 World Cup is not a surprise because Indian Cricket team has always been a bunch of heroes rather than players. The BCCI might as well have assembled a team with Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Akshaya Kumar, Sunil Shetty and the like. The passions, the ad revenues and TV viewership would have been no less if not more. I have been living in Sydney Australia for last 10 months. I watched Australia continue to pound and pulverize every other team despite being short of Brett Lee. But that wasn't so noteworthy as the fact that while Mathew Hayden scored the fastest WC century, there were no TV chats or analyses or speculations before he did that, nor any endless newsroom accolades for him after that match against South Africa. All in all, his blinding century got about 3-4 minutes of time on National news, and a few minutes on sports channels along with the due coverage in sports sections of leading newspapers the next day. And this is in a country that has won the cup twice in recent succession.
This is in sharp contrast to what happens in mera Bharat. For two days before any match, all newspapers, TV channels and newsrooms are full of "Cricket Experts" and even Astrologers speaking so positively about our heroes, that it creates an impression as if India has some kind of a right on the World Cup. Like the team (of heroes) is there just for the formalities. And then the TV discussions continue after India's defeat as experts calculate the probablity of Bangladesh losing to Bermuda.
That's more talk and less cricket.
I don't remember ever seeing Australians discuss strategies before playing any match or analysing the results after any match. Even if they do, most of it stays confined to the player's dressing rooms, and when their team goes out in the field, it never shows like they are concerned about who the opponents are. For the last three World cups, winning is a way of life for the Aussies, whether it is a full 50 over game or if bad weather applies Duckworth-Lewis constraints on the match.

Hi Vishal, You are absolutely correct. Its so much of a hype here that they tend to forget that one fine day it would be very difficult for these players to keep up to the standards made by the newschannels.Almost all of them are a hype & selling news to Indians is the easiest thing done as they believe in whatever they see or being shown. Its become a trend to sell news here but its high time the media should curtail certain things in their reporting nature.
i think he was jealous of indian cricket because when he got the post when india were worlds no 2nd team and only team having guts to beat australia.only he knew ganguly could make the team no1. hence he removed him to make the team weak.as he was a tough captain like pointing of australia. he played with the players making them insecure about their places in the side.

no need to blame chappell , till the moment kiran more and sharads team is there. there is again divide and rule.
there are 3 points which led to his down fall as coach. 1. he removed ganguly out as it he was india best captain . 2. he got the post as india were 2nd in rank after australia. 3. he played with indian cricket as he only was not sure to play senoirs or youngsters between this nor he got proper senoirs or younsters.

SEE , STILL GANGULY IS NOT MADE CAPTAIN , ITS A SURPRISE.DRAVID IS NOT A LEADER.SHARAD AND TEAM WILL DESTROY THE INDIAN CRICKET. THEY ARE ONLY LOOKING AT BIG MONEY AT BCCI. ITS LIKE SEND SHARAD AGAINST KRAMNIK INSTEAD OF VISWANATHAN ANAND.

guys kike u have read the hindu for objective analysis of the world cup debacle.ur friend and hero saurav was playing for himself in the macth against bangla desh by taking the runs slowly against amediocore bowling. i belive he should be held responsible for the debacle whatevr the good will he earned he lost it in the world cup, even shastri has said abt the same thing
I am staying in Australia / New Zealand for last couple of years. Following are my observations: 1)People like Chappell try to rule by 'Divide and rule policy' same as British ruled India. Same they are doing with aborginals and Maori of these countries. 2)They look nice but can stab from when their interest is hampered. 3)Too much ego and can even sabotage for keeping their ego. 4)Now they are afraid of Indians and Chineese as they feel these two countries will rule the world like British ruled India.
I know that few of my Indian friends will not agree with me because they are those similar Indians for which British has ruled India.

Dear Biplab Saha, I wonder why you (so called true Indian) have gone to AustraLIA/NZ for the last 2 years. The problem is that the game of cricket in India is ruled by passion rather than pure understanding of the actual game, logic and performance. It is we the PUBLIC who spoil the cricketers with undue adulation when they beat a team once in ten matches. If you notice Chapell has tried his best to instill discipline, fitness, importance of fielding, youth........but the socalled Gods of Indian cricket (Ganguly, Tendulkar, Sehwag, Harbhajan, Agarkar, Zaheer & Yuvraj) resisted this change which is required in today's new brand of cricket. Have you seen that all the successful teams of today like Australia, SriLanka, NZ & SA field with all their 11 players equally well and there are no star status accorded to anyone. The captain leads the fielding effort in the field. With a captain like Ganguly, who refuses to bend to even block a ball, I wonder how a team will field well?? Just give Rahul Dravid the youth power and rest assured that he will lead India to glory in the new way of playing cricket. OR ELSE Indian Cricket will go the HOCKEY way in the GLOBAL arena......Chapell actually gave a wake-up call to the Indian System, be thankful for that.....Now it is upto BCCI and the keepers of INDIAN CRICKET to take it forward.

absolutely write , you are the first person who is having logic.but what can you do, its our own people , who can sell this country for money. you are lucky , at least you are in australia. dont come back. else lets throw these cheaters out of this country.
All these that is happening with BCCI is nothing but a way to divert attention of the fans .The bottom line is that India is out of World Cup with so many star players.Loss to Sri Lanka we can digest it but lost to Babngla desh is something we have to vomit.
Well these plans were chalked out by senior members of the team,Coach and lots of influential person in the team.Role of bookies, gravy renumeration from the add companies and little concern about the Motherland is the main cause of the team India debacle. The team is spending less time in practice and more time in Catwalks. And even if u see them practising it just bcoz its their daily job to show the people through their own media that they r deeply involved in the game.
And just see how stupid we Indian fans are.By just one good knock or by just one good performance we forget all their errors. If we are cricket lovers and really love cricket and understand what a body language the players on the day of an important match should be like then we will feel really sorry and angry .Just see the Bangladesh match vs India.Players were so casual. No effort from their side.
A proper investigatin should be done.I would suggest a CBI investigation. The past history suggest that Indian players were involved with the bookies and so we should not ignore this fact

i agree with you. for long, we have allowed these superstars to go unpunished. its time we brought them to book. look at tendulkar. the man is afraid that his image gets tarnished, so he comes out and blames chappell. he should introspect himself and ask himself why are we failing to win in crucial matches having the worlds best batting side. he is in no position to retire as he has crores and crores of endorsements.chappell gets the blame for asking him to be more responsible!!!! come on tendlya, whom are you fooling???

Everybody's past time nowadays seems to be critcising sachin for his failure in the worll cup forgetting that cricket is a team game. What was the contribution of the other 10 players including our captain? since sachin is the only one who gets criticised shows that team India still means sachin.
