Everybody is searching for reasons for the India's debacle in the WC. I think that the chairman of selection committee Mr.Colonel is more responsible than anyone. Remember.... he is the one who leaked the news that dravid insisted on sehwags inclusion in the team when they are embarking to WI. He should have released this news after the india's campaign in the WC is over (who know india would have emerged victorious but for the pressure created by media based on colonel's remarks). Releasing this news put unnecessary heavy pressure both on sehwag as well as dravid. BCCI did right in taking serious exceptions to these remarks of Mr.Vengsarkar. Also, Pathan should have played in the WC in place of a batsman (Uthappa), since he could have scored as many runs as Uthappa scored and had also strengthened the bowling. OK agreed that he is out of form in bowling but who knows on the seaming wickets he could have succeeded. This is the fault of tour/team management. Hope atleast now we come out of regionalism and support the indians. Also I request not to support the media because the pressure created by media and sponsors is also one of the biggest reason for our team's debacle (early exit) I also request all the indians not to watch/purchase the products endorsed by the indian cricketers and PLS. DONT SEND ANY SMS/TALK TO CRICKET ANCHORS/GUESTS TO THE CHANNELS SO THAT THEY CANNOT GAIN ON OUR HARD EARNED, PASSION FILLED MONEY. With all this still you think Mr. Chappel alone responsible for India's early exit?

Please....Please Mr. Author ..Please .. fullfill the wish of this self imposed "Hitler Arrogant Rascal Idiot"
The best thing happened with this world cup debacle by our Indian Team:
1. In our country, this is the time for academic school examinations at various levels. This Indian team helped most of indian familes by these childrens not watching televisions and getting frustrated.
2. We Indians are too sensitive, that when when ever we send our childners outside, we take too extra care in keeping them informed " Please come back as soon as possible ". We are god fearing people in our true respect. Like wise our Indian team of 15 members have also come back very fast. What's wrong in that?.
3. Poor Chappell does not understand these Indian sentiments, as he himself does / doesn't not speak to his brother Ian and Trevor for years or months across.
Please do not under estimate / mistake me for writing such an issue. As I am an Indian
HEY DONT YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANY OTHER WORK? WHY THE HELL U GUYS ARE WASTING TIME? BCCI WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU AT ANY COST AS CRICKET IS A BUSINESS FOR THEM ! ONLY FOR US ITS A PASSION ! JUST FOLLOW THE GAME OF CRICKET IF U R PASSIONATE AND DONT EVER HAVE OVER EXPECTATIONS ABOUT INDIAN CRICKET. ENJOY HOW AUSTRALIA, SA, NZ PLAYS...

I think so that it is stupid to blame chappel alone. The truth is that the whole of indian team failed every player, the coach and the g8t BCCI.I agree to the above article.. 1)The running between the wickets was terrible...ganguly was the main offender..he is terrible between the wickets.I dnt know how he is gaining a place in indian team. 2)sachin reflexes r gone 3)kumble is much better than harbajan in any given situation except feilding which can be shielded 4)There is definate groupism between players and many suffer from attitude problem 5)Dravid sometimes lacks attacking skills

Would you also add your god Ganguly in this list? He should also share the blame for batting at snail's pace.

Well the Indian's appointed him, its not Chappells fault is it? Those who do not have faith in their own countrymen deserve to suffer at the hands of foreigners. All the senior cricketers have to be blamed they only supported Chappells inclusion.

1 BREAKING THE TEAMSPIRIT OF TEAM INDIA. What spirit ??? 2 BRINGING POLITICS IN THE DRESSINGROOM. Thatz not new. ganguly the politician is already there. 3 LEAKING OUT INSIDE INCIDENTS TO PRESS. i think itz ganguly who told espn that chappel want him to resign 4 ADOPTING DIVIDE AND RULE POLICY BETWEEN SENIOR JUNIOR PLAYERS. Everybody knew that sehwag, zaheer, yuvraj r ganguly's chamchas. 5 GETTING FAT PAY PACKET. Whatz his pay when compared to senior players. 6 ABUSING OUR HONBLE PARLIAMENTARIANS. I wud have kicked them for interfering in cricket. 7 SACKING THE MOST SUCCESSFULL INDIAN CAPTAIN. I wud have banned him from playing cricket. 8 MAKING ABUSIVE POSTURE TO KOLKATTA CRICKET FANS. Don't call them fans..they r fanatics..Everybody saw how they booed team. They chose to support ganguly instead of india. 9 LOSING THE WOLD CUP INSTEAD OF WINNING IT. PUTTING THE BLAME ON BCCI AND PLAYERS. What can a coach do..if the so called senior players can't score a single run.. 10 SAFELY LEAVE FOR AUSTRALIA NOW. Better for him to coach kenya or zimbabwe. Atleast those teams doesn't have egoistic players and politicians in administration.
The problem is not with Cricket or cricketers. India simply does not produce sportsmen. Blame it on our physical constitution, and lack of infrastructure even at the district levels, if not village level.
It is with great difficulty our cricketers do one thing, bat or bowl. Asking them to field properly is like asking too many favours out of them, and finally if you ask the bowlers to learn to bat consistently, they will stop bowling and start considering themselves as the next best batsman after Bradman!
Simply put, Indian players just do one or two things well, and forget the rest. Gundappa Vishwanath only knew batting and even in that the only thing he knew was how to square cut. It was great going for him till the time a quickie like imran khan came into the scene, after which the only thing gundappa used to do like a joker, was to square cut after the ball had reached the gloves of the keeper!
Or for that matter Venkatesh prasad. The only thing he knew was bowling, and the only thing in bowling was the leg cutter and off cutter. It was great going for him as well, with some bakras like Gary kirsten and Aamir sohail, just made for getting out to his form of bowling, but finally most players and primarily the aussies figured out that the only thing you needed to do for Prasad's bowling was to stand a wee bit ahead of the stumps and negate the cutters he bowled. He neither had the pace nor the brains to counter this strategy, and he soon faded.
With these kind of dud players, as our legacy, how the heck could we win any thing in world cricket? Mind you, I have not yet spoken about glorious players of the past like " Venkatapathy Raju(Muscles)" "Chetan Sharma" ...

We do not have sporting ability, especially in case of sports which require lots of energy, especially games like football. All we can be good at is traditional games like kabaddi, kho-kho and games like shooting, golf, Chess etc.
Our country favors academics over sports, as long as this continues nobody can arrest our declines as a sporting power.
Attitude is what I really feel, the indian team lacked. Their body language was pathetic. The batsmen lacked the aggresive intent and our captain looked like a statue of liberty. He failed in each and every aspect of the game. He was unable to make use of the conditions. I don't think that chappel is only to be blamed for this. Because on field, the entire responsibilty is on the captain. And our captain....
The best thing happened with this world cup debacle by our Indian Team:
1. In our country, this is the time for academic school examinations at various levels. This Indian team helped most of indian familes by these childrens not watching televisions and getting frustrated.

Greg chappel and the team managemnt missed the trick the moment they decided to send sachin down the order. and over that playing with the tentative sehwag did not make us fel comfortable from the start. sachin struggled a bit when he made a come back, but he was in his rythm(not exactly what he was few years back) and he could have given a blazing start to indian innings. By bringing an inexperienced uthappa, we again gave lot of advantage to the opposition. And regarding chappel, i can only say that he failed and faled completely. u see what dave Whatmore has done to srilanka earlier(96) and to bangladesh(now). he as a coach has transformed those teams and now bangladesh is not doing badly against other teams as well. A coach has to bring the best out of the team given to him. instead, a brilliant team was given to chappel, and he brought out the worst from them.
If our players like Yuvraj yawn big time on the field, somebody should investigate what he was doing the previous night. Spending time on the dance floor, or in the bar or the restaurant or walking on the Caribean beaches or ..... , late into the night, when there is a match next day morning.
Heard on TV last week that our players were seen walking in the corridors of the Hotel at 1.30 am in the night, when they had to report to the ground, next day morning for the match.
Sehwag, understand from the media, during his last South African trip, didnt even bother to be regular for practice.
How disciplined are these players and do they listen to anybody and the rules put up by the Manager, Coach, etc.
Stop blaming Chapell and discipline the players first.

Now there are complaints that our players yawn. great people! tommorrow som one will say they are having food, sleep, yestarday there was a photo that dravid was at a beach. This is utter nonsense.

Mr.Krishna, you have not interpreted the larger picture. When players yawn on the ground, when standing in the sun and playing a tense, must win match, there is something wrong and somebody should investigate, what they did the previous day / night.
As per medical terms, a yawn happens when you either didnt have good sleep the previous night or your body is tired. Both shouldnt be applicable to any player of any game, if they have prepared mentally and physically for the next days match. I dont think our players prepared mentally or physically for the match against Bangladesh. Their body language was so bad.

I agree, discipline will bring consistency,They should have part of compensation attached to there regularity to the practice ground.
