Guys, I thought of something that would put an end to all the disputes. Regional/Money %u2026everything.
First let%u2019s remove the selector%u2019s board. There shall be no more regional allocations. Not even 0.0001%
Let%u2019s stop blaming the coach or the captain or anybody else in the team. Let%u2019s stop blaming the players for their interest in Ads, that%u2019s none of our business. If he wants that extra money let him earn it.
But if he want%u2019s to be in the team, let him earn it as well. He must have an eligibility to qualify inside the team. Like Duckworth-Lewis rule, which decides a match after rain, let%u2019s put an equation, which recommends a player for the team. Based on performance & consistency.
Simple rules, that would keep the players on their heals & make them really run for their money.
What I have suggested below is just a start, everyone is welcome to make it better. For any player he can accumulate/lose points on 2 different basis. a) regular points b) pressure points
For Batsman on a given ODI if he scores [regular points]
Good economy means good line & length. Let them use their heads on how to contain the batsmen.   ; &nbs p;
Extras except byes, leg byes (bowlers can%u2019t be blamed for these extras) [Pressure points]
Extras >5 Points   ; -3
And reduction in one point for every 3 subsequent extras.
Fielding
Dropped catch -5 Direct Hit at stumps for run out 5 Over throws   ; -2
Add whatever u can think off%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026.
Wicketkeeper
Missed stumping -5 Missed ball from fielding -3
Add whatever u can think off%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026.
Let all the players be evaluated based on their point system. And very importantly A PLAYER MUST BE EVALUATED ON POINTS IN THE LAST 10 MATCHES ONLY (to keep consistency & keep away records. To avoid players hitting a century and staying in the team for years). And let this points system be followed for every match. The reason for having regular & pressure points is to bring the conscious of the situation on the kind of matches they play. For example a semi is more crucial than league, any decider match is very crucial. So on these occasions the pressure points can be doubled or tripled. Players get the tendency to play better and careful on deciders. Our players work better as individuals rather than as a team %u2013 a general view. Well%u2026..Let it be%u2026 Let us make them do best what they are good at.
Earning money is not a problem people, look at jordan in basketball or lomu in rugby. Cricketers still don't earn what soccer or basketball players earn.
Real problem is that spinners didn't perform like singh and the senior players except ganguly didn't perform.
look at other team, they are doing well because of their senior players are leading by example.
no tendulker, singh, dhoni(he is overated) and munaf patel.

ganguly didn't played, you can say yuvraj is one played best of all, in 1st match he scored with good strike rate, in 2nd match his heroic put us in position to expect a miracle ..even dravid played well in last match when we needed most ..what is this we keep on hanging ganguly ...
Chappell isn't good person. There are quiet a few people like the writer of this article who supports him...What I feel about after reading the article is that the writer is trying to misguide the readers....There are many things to which Chappell has to take blame for...I have following questions to the writer or Chappell supporters...
1. Chappell was appointed by BCCI for the MISSION World Cup 07 but India failed to reach even Super 8 stage then how Mr. Chappell is not responsible for that? He may not be responsible for the team's performance 100%, but to certain extent he is responsible for this failure.
2. Chappell, on the name of FLEXIBILITY made mess with the batting order. Sachin need to open the batting which he was doing for so many years is dropped down at no.4 in the middle order. Dravid need to bat at no.3, he pushed further down the order.. why?? who had taken these decisions???Was Mr. Chappell not involved in these decisions????
3.Pathan was a swing bowler who can bat a bit in 2005 but after Mr. Chappell's came in, Pathan started to bat at no.3 and has lost his bowling action completely and looks out of sorts and now he became half batsman who can bowl a bit...What a mess...I would say, he literally spoiled the carrier of Pathan...
4.Chappell has always spat the team members. Earlier he had spat with Ganguly and now there are rumours that he has spat with senior players... who are those senoir players??? So he was not good in the books of Indian players...He always want to be in the controversies surrounding him rather than working as a coach... He never seems to have developed any rappo with any of the players...
5. After India's debacle performance at the world cup he don't want to take the blame and trying give some excuses and making the stories of senoir player attitude and behaviour but my question to Mr. Chappell is that if he knew all these things then why has not told to BCCI before the team leave for the world cup??If he was not happy with the squad that he got for the world cup, why he had not told to BCCI before going to W.Indies? Why he is telling all these stories now??? That means he is searching for excuses...
6. The most important, he knows that Indians belive more on the person who is outsider than any Indian person.. So he is using the same principle that was used by BRITISH people about a century ago.."DIVIDE & RULE"... that is what he is trying to do..
But that doesn't mean that the players, the BCCI, selection comitte are not responsible for India's debacle at the world cup.. but to a certain extent they are also responsible...
India certainly needs a new coach certainly not Mr. Chappell....

BCCI hired Chappel only to coach the Indian cricket team and enhance their performance. He has miserably failed in that. No doubt, Indian players do have weaknesses. But that'swhy we hired Chappel! To help them overcome those problems! If a student fails, the teahcer has also failed. However to this extent, Chappel may be excused. However, he is more often seen in giving interviews and creating rift amongst the team which is not acceptable. He must be asked to go. And the lesson that BCCI must learn is- Make it a code of conduct for the coach and the team - No media image. No interviews. No public speaking. Coach's fee should also be linked to the performance of the team.

I have a strong opinion in this case that if anybody is to blame it is the players. With tons of experience, why is it they there were not able to deliver in batting / fielding / bowling?!!! The coach gives them ideas on how to play under different circumstances, but, like all forms of sport, the greatness of a person is always when he performs under all circumstances. We credit Tendulkar for his brilliant batting; at no point of time do we credit the coach for this. The same is for Pathan's bowling - when he was going great guns, he was the star - endorsements, advertisements, flowed in. The focus shifted. Similarly, Dhoni / Yuvraj have all lost focus in their games. The present generation feels that as long as we score one century a season and couple of mediocre scores - get an average of about 40, its fine.
It is good that endorsements and affiliations are being critically looked at nowadays. It should not degenerate into a situation that the top people share the money and the sport be damned.

I am in agreement with you. Chappell has destroyed the TEAM which was never so worse and he should be booted out as soon as possible.

Thank you! It would feel honoured to have my name written next to these celebrities.
When Greg joined the indian team, it was not in that much trouble. He wanted to make some youngsters to invaluable players. As the author said irfan was the best example. Everyone is blaming on greg for his lose in pace. Noone can think that irfan can bat in no.1 position. even azhar has sometime tried srinath to bat at no.3. Eventhough we failed in batting against bangladesh, we should have bowled out within the target. 192 is not a bad score. their batting is not that much strong. they played well only against india. becoz considered india's bowling attack is weak. even their captain told this before this match. Immediately we need a bowler like bond, lee , muralidaran. if people says indian pitches are favourable for slow wickets why cant a spin bowler emerges. anil kumble is a good test bowler, but no batsman will say we are afraid of his bowling. and kumble was the only match winner in indian test side. srilanka has found some good fast bowlers like malinga & fernando who can bowl at 140kmph consistently. I think there is no need to change the coach, instead the bowling attack should be changed. find some
I am sick of the Bangali message postors here. They just seem to be incapable of thinking beyond Ganguly and Chappell. They have only one hero,Ganguly. And only one villain,Chappell.I am yet to see a Bangali here who is objective in his thinking. And they are proving by their robotic Chappell bashing that the columnist is cent per cent right about our national mentality.I would say the writer has been rather mild in his criticism.Sachin,Ganguly,Agarkar,Harbhajan,Zaheer and Kumble should have been history by now.And you don't drop players like Kaif and Raina, but persist with them no matter what, nurture them bring them to their real potential. It was an Indian who emulated Jonty Rhodes to dive full length and run Nick Night out while still airborne 4 years ago in Durban. It was Kaif, and such feats mark the progress of a team towards championship. Is a single player in the present squad capable of emulating Kaif?Even snakes know that to survive they need to shed their skin. But we are so dumb-headed that we will continue with the trio of Sachin,Saurabh and Rahul till they have grandchildren.

Agree. Their life revolves around Saurav Ganguly. It starts with Ganguly and ends with Ganguly. .."Om Gangulaayana maha...".

They have been playing football for all these donkey's years and are extremely proud about it. Have they helped India to develop a team which can at least qualify for the world cup soccer???
