Mr.Ravi, Can u plz tell me what Mr.Dinesh Karthik and Venugopla Rao are doing in ur much claimed 'team against strong teams and in foriegn pitches'. u're surely a southie. And why u want the 223yr old 'old man'Munaf in the team. Get Aleeb Nabi or Ishant sharma in.Atleast they shoukd be having some aggression in them.India would be better served if Munaf can borrow some aggression from Sreeshanth.

If the board dont want to exclude the senior players, give them rest for atleast two tours Let them try some young blood like Ravindra sing Jadeja,Manoj Tiwary,Rohith Sharma,Joginder,VijayaKumar Yo Mahesh,Abu nachim Ahmed,Piyush Chawla etc...? Where is Gourav Dhiman. In his first world cup (U19)he was a very good swing bowler partnering RP SING,in his second worldcup he became a hard hitting opening batsman. He is not bowling frequently now. This is the problem of indian cricket that is why india is not producing good allrounders.RS Jadeja is a good left arm orthodox bowler who can bat at any position, and a very good fielder too in the inner ring.Manoj Tiwary is a good batsman who can bowl good legbreaks.Joginder sharma can bowl 10 overs with an ecconomy better than ajith agarkar. He can bat at any position from opening slot to 10th.Piyush chawla is a good allrounder with nice loopy legbreaks and a gutsy batsman.

We cannot blame dhoni always. When he is coming to bat the score will be 65/5 or 150/6 in the 43 rd over. The n what magic he can do? The truth is that india not proerly used its strength.Dhoni should bat at top of the order.
Below are some of the Chappel words when we lost matches continously
1) We might loose, and we might win.. but our main goal is World cup
2) We want to try out all the players at all the position so that they can fire in world cup]
3) We want fresh blood to put India on top for world cup
4) Ganguly is mentally and physicaly unfit
5) I assure, we will be in semi finals
6) He tried military training and kho kho and injured many players... what is the use of giving military training. his words.... we want everyone to be fittest
7) Suresh Raina is a must.. Rain except for England match in India has failed in almost every innings
And when the world cup came, India lost to bangladesh ...This man is a curse, a disgrace a god curse which is result of Indian dirty politics in Cricket. Let supreme court select Indian team... Indian team should have sacked him and chappel when we lost Champions trophy in our own soil.... but everyone said lets wait till the world cup... and here what he did.... We have to blame our BCCI.. the dirtiest many hungry body .. Chappel is a destroyer.

As much as i agree with you, i think Chappell is not the sole reason we lost. I don't think he got what he wanted, and if you don't look at this WC, i think he did ok. I would give him one more change(a short one though) to prove himself.
Let's face it, our lost was due to collective failure(management, selection, composition of the team, captaincy & coaching), not individual failure. One partnership in the SL game would have changed everything, we failed completely as a team.
RE:Chappel
by Reform India on Apr 02, 2007 07:21 PM Permalink
Why cant we select 15 young players and ask chappell to train them. I think our senior super stars and cricket legends mess up Chappells plans. Chappell wanted to convince everyone keeping the old legends creating a batting line up so that they can fit in some how. That why we failed.

by Yasmin Bhat on Apr 02, 2007 07:28 PM Permalink
Yes.....you are right. As a coach he has been hopeless...ask the Aussies themselves...he ruined the south australia team when he coached it. Being a great batsman doesnt make one a great coach. Anyway, now Chappell is busy blaming the attitude of the seniors for the WC debacle. What was he there for......if not to control things? and dont tell me he didnt have authority.....he had plenty when he had Ganguly ousted from the team.
RE:Chappel
by Reform India on Apr 02, 2007 07:31 PM Permalink
When Ganguly was thrown out, did you not see the outburst from his fans and others. So he did not want to do the same on Sachin or Shewag. Another thing is Dravid influence of keeping out of form Shewag and tried Kumble
Request the media to leave the cricketers alone and give the readers something more meaningful than news on what they are doing these days, or who are the seeing etc. Excessive media glare and overhype has been one of the key reasons for their debacle at the world cup. Let the players live a life in peace and give them some time for self-introspection.

Do your employer leave you alone when you are not performing at your job? Do they leave you in your job considering the fact that you are human being? What's wrong expecting same from our indian team? We all deserve for accountability from our team.
I know you would argue that you will get some chances to perform well in your job before action is taken on you. We did give enough chances to our indian team.
