dravid captaincy is good like ganguly's it is senior players did not support him druing WC read article in cricinfo By S rajesh see the analysis of batsman. it is not bolwers or captain batsman failed to deliver when team required. many players like ganguly, sachin harbajan, zahir undermine dravid's captaincy. ganguly batting only for self he socred runs consistantly but never tried to accelerate run rate or rotate strike always savinghis wkt if team win or loss did not matter he scored runs but he gave more runs to opposition b'cuz of poor fielding. cost team some more runs of poor running between wkt. and sachin being VC failed with bat. Body language of 2 ex captains in 3 matches as if they were playing a practice match. Harbajan never bolwed to his natural stength. b'cuz he thought his cpatian is ganguly but herbajan latest achievement is that he was informed by ICC twice by his wrong action. dhoni is failed in WI and SA he scored runs only in dead ptices of subcontinent. Dinesh karthck is better than dhoni he opened innings and won 20 -20 match in SA . can bat any no.... and since munaf was in playig XI, dravid couldnot play sreesant. After sachin's return from injury from during DLF cup onwards, sachin was doing bowling 6-8 overs regularly and there is no place for 5th bowler. Except Aus no other team has consistancy in winning. Some section of WB media is cariies anti dravid articles just b%u2019cuz he beceame captain, and ganguly was out of team for some time .many forfot dravid%u2019s contributions to ganguly%u2019s success as captain. All media speculations. Discussion are eyewashing experience sachin and ganguly are main culprits for wc debacle. and there were huge public opinion against sachin. But strong mumbai lobby will never let down theirlocal hero. and vengasrakar wanted him to captain. resting ganguly and sachin is eyewashing exercise. And many ex cricketers, media cricket experts had not guts to spaeak against these 2 super starts. the lack of commiment , passion , poor body languge or groupism or petty politics played against captain and coach.. both ex captain are fighting for captaincy behind scens. so they have to prove dravid is not good captain . but dravid started well wining 18 odis in chasing and won test series in WI , histoirci test match win SA, and odi sereis in WI.Chappell report was right in pointingout these dressing room politics and some players undermine dravd's captaincy and not to led by skipper . why r u creating false story. recorded vidio coverage of game is proof ganguly did not play for team cause but for self and save his wkt and cement his place. many news paper carried out dravid took responsiblility for defeat and he did not blame any individual players. After WC debacle he thanked players and asked them not blame any individual player it was collective effort. ganguly was not doing briefs when he was captian and team lost matches. It is not indians but U R DUMB and BLIND. I think pointing to just a single person whether Chappell or Dravid or Ganguly or Sachin would not be the right thing to do. It is a collective failure. Most people i see here are fanatically against one person or the other.
All of them had their weaknesses. Dravid's track record as captain is not too bad either. Though he does have some weaknesses which need to be addressed. However, with no other young option available, he seems to be the only choice as captain.
Ganguly and Sachin are past their prime. Ganguly has made good scores recently but his rate of scoring might not be good enough for a one-day game. Sachin might stay until we find his replacement, or take a risk in trying out a youngster in his role. Another thing, when Ganguly was captain, all the big three were in their prime which is not the case now.
Replacements should have been done but either selectors failed or their is seriously no talent available or maybe selectors were not willing to risk some failures with youngsters.
The selection policy is hardly clear. Age should not be a factor, form and fitness should be. They need not close their eyes entirely to oldies who perform well. Who knows we might get another Robin Singh (who came in at the age of 33 and played for about 4 years).
As for as BCCI is concerned, the less said the better. Their decisions still seem to be based on personl whims than any logic.
At this time it is important that the team, the BCCI and selectors share a common vision and more importantly, take steps towards it.

I agree with u completely. The reason for ganguly's success was because he was the leader both in and of the field not John wright. In case of Dravid/Chappel it's just reverse. After the ganguly-Chappel fight, it was pretty sure that they can't work together any more so one has to go. here only BCCI made the wrong decision to fire Ganguly. Saurav is our boy we know him better and he also made a succesful partnership with Wright, whereas Chappel is a newcomer ho knows nothing about Indian cricket, his vision could be great but his way of achieving it cud make it impossible, and that's what happened !!! The best case scenario wud have been sacking Chappel, stripping ganguly of captaincy (not his place as a player) and appointment of Dravid as Captain. The message shud be no one is god and everybody is under scanner...... So basically it is BCCI and it's policies which failed.

Not Dravid.. just think broadly.. what happened between 2005 and 2006 year matches.
Once ganguly and tendulkar were out , dravid got all support from team.. this is the proof of consecutive match win ... dhoni ,yuvraj, kaif, dravid.hinself ..played..Everybody accpted in 2005 , indian middle order batting line is very strong so that they started to chase run ..why performance suddenly down... everybody is going failed.. they want to prove that if one person dropped because of poor perforamnec, now dropped all team.. because some of them pollute youngter mind...

THINK BROADLY........india played at home against sri lanka in re bulding phase...and west indies.... PATHAN....gone... SEHWAG....confidence player....lost it all...
A good spinner need a good captain.....bhaji's decline is something to do with dravid's captaincy....he made bhaji a defensive spinner.....he just didnt knew how to get results out of a aggressive bowler.
the mistakes dravid made...suppose dravid is a captain of australian team.....what will he do...
1.ask gilchrist to change batting style...be more responsible...and selective...dont be too aggressive. 2.Hayden....ask hayden to bat in the middle order...because he has the experience... 3.symonds to concentrate on taking singles in the middle overs not 4's and 6's 4.never use michael clark and symonds as a bowler 5.ask michael clark not to take too many risks in the middle overs.. 6.hussey to open the innings.... 7.shane watson to bat at number 3. 8.ask shaun tait and brett lee to bowl line and length like glen. 9.nathan bracken and glen to bowl fast. 10.set defensive fields for brad hogg.

What u mentioned are correct. And u didn't mention some points. If Dravid is the Captain of the current Australian team, then he will open the Innings even if they are having two spectacular openers. Also, he will put Bret Lee to bat at one down in every match so that Lee will loose his rhythm in bowling and will be out from the team. Gilchrist will bat at 7th position as Dhoni is doing now.
Now come to the fact... Has he used Sehwag and Sachin to bowl in a single match at any time? and in the match against Bangladesh, if he used the spinners early ( that time the bangladeshi batsmen were punishing the fast bowlers), then I am sure that the result would have been different.

Not Dravid.. just think broadly.. what happened between 2005 and 2006 year matches.
Once ganguly and tendulkar were out , dravid got all support from team.. this is the proof of consecutive match win ... dhoni ,yuvraj, kaif, dravid.hinself ..played..Everybody accpted in 2005 , indian middle order batting line is very strong so that they started to chase run ..why performance suddenly down... everybody is going failed.. they want to prove that if one person dropped because of poor perforamnec, now dropped all team.. because some of them pollute youngter mind...

Our team was greatest ever!!! Pakistan and we are the only two teams that Australia have not dominated during the World Cup 2007. If the Indian team had gone till the Super 8's they would have had to come out with six more defeats. But great Indian team came out of the World Cup 2007 with just two defeats!!! Congrats Team India.. We will continue our obstinacy against surrendering before Aussies by not playing them... Let us play Bangladesh, Ireland etc... and let the commentators brag about the domination!!! This is really very abysmal. It just shows that you dont have respect for your country and its fellow countrymen. Players have played poorly in the World Cup and there is no denying but all these stories have no consequence. We should all forget the past and concentrate on the present so that the future is bright.

Very easy to blame captain, What about other 10 players players%u2019s the lack of commtiment , lack of passion to win/perform, , poor body languge or groupism or petty politics played against captain and coach spending time in crease for sponsers cause, playing for self records, many players think they are leaders and not to led by skipper, superstar attitude .. 1. Not sure why Freek Guy is ascused of not having any respect for the country. I am sure he is equally disappointed by India performance in this world. I would just take that as a fair criticism. Truely India was not dominated by Aus.
2. Players have to ask honest questions tp themselves, what is the reason they want to play cricket. If thats winning more matches for the team, then its great. But if is for moneny and for their contracts deals or just to leave the internation stage in their own sweet ways...then it is high time they leave.
3. Indian cricket is sure in the hands in the worng people now..Well when a board generates Rs. 3000 crores, well they have to be held acountable. If their stand is to do something good for the country, then I would suggest them to hold office in Indian Football, Khabadi, etc.
4. Indian cricket has became a business house, so as long as money is coming in , its running in success. Sadly, cricket is not even in the back street.
5. Atleast I don't think anything is going to happen in the next few years, sadly not sure whether it will ever happen.
6. Sumani said that BD will have to pay a hefty price, but for that to happen, we should do what WI did to us after the 1983 final. We should hit them and hit them hard. Stamp on their chest and put a bullet in their head. Win each and every match which will be played in BD. BUT THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WE WILL ATLEAST LOSE ONE MATCH.
