Niranjan Shah was always a very mediocre(if not bad) cricketer during his days. So, we can't expect that he will understand cricket or cricketing problems. The only thing he is capable of doing is to open his filthy mouth in situations where nobody wants him to speak. It's a pity that this corrupt peoples are heading the BCCI. There is just no board official who has good recognition in international cricket in a country where several legends have born, can u believe it !!! Their dirty ego and jealousy for cricketers is ruining Indian cricket. they brought Chappel to teach the cricketers a lesion, which ultimately ended up in dividing the team where everybody looses there faith on captain Dravid and the results like 1st round exit were inevitable. Dravid shud show some aggression to defend his players to re-earn the respect,it will boost the team moral. otherwise he will end up as the worst captain in the history of Indian cricket doesn't matter whether whether he plays with a junior team or a senior team.

If you took your ar$e out of your head for just a moment and look around, you'll notice that one can be a good administrator without having been a good player. Some of CA's bosses haven't played any cricket at all.
We all know that Tendulkar & Ganguly have been rather good players. They've given us a lot in terms of entertainment but have gained a lot too in terms of money & fame. Nobody owes anybody anything. If they continue to perform, we should keep them in the team. If they don't, out they go.
Bengalis have always been a rather smart lot. But you Indranil, with your incessant pro-Ganguly & anti-Dravid posts most of which are devoid of any logic, risk giving them all a rather bad name.
Cricket is just a game. Ganguly & Dravid are just players. There is no reason to either put them on a pedestal or stamp on them. Grow up.

U r absolutely right ravi but its just one thing i can tell in Indranils support. I think Indranil was trying to point out on people like Girish Rao & Suman Bhat for being anti Ganguly for no solid reason. Being a bengalee it must have frustated him too along with many others. So lets forget regionalism and concentrate about cricket.2007 is past ....we would like to look fwd to 2011.Lets hope for the best

You're right. There are plenty of idiots around here who give Ganguly a fair bit of undeserved stick.
I absolutely agree with him getting kicked out of the team last year as he was clinging on to captaincy without performing as a batsman for too long. But the time out seems to have made him mentally stronger and if he continues performing as he has been recently, I'd have him on my team any day.
Of course, Ganguly being in the team gives Dravid a few political headaches. But as captain, it is Dravid's job to show some steel & sort such headaches out. Dravid must impose himself on this team now & I think he has the capability to do so.
Just check for stats each of team which reached semifinals (http://www.itsmylinks.com/uscricket.html?gclid=CMjOsP3woosCFTIeGAodSxhZkw) Every team has 6 players who scored more than 150 runs and 4 players who had scored more than 300 runs and 6 bowlers of each teams took more than 6 wickets and 4 bowlers of each team had taken more than 10 wickets each. This clearly indicates the specific roles given to batsman and bowlers of these teams are being performed 90 to 100% without fail. Where does so called India Batsman and bowlers stand. None of them have performed more than 50% of the allotted roles in the 3 matches played. But still our cricket stars are angry and start giving personal statements to press and wanted to create impression that they haven%u2019t done anything wrong.
How foolish they and blind minded. They don%u2019t want to accept that they have underperformed.
Don%u2019t you think Indian team deserve to be out in the first round

Ramnaresh Sarwan name is missing from the list.He has scored more than 350 runs in this WC
Hmmmmmmmmm, My countryman, Alas! What I thought and what it turned out to be! And Rahul is responsible for all this. He did not allow Ramesh but insited on Sehwag. Sehwag is such a load which he tried to carry!! Rahul is so headstrong. Always he tries to prevail. But he hardly consults others. I am fed up with him. He mishandles everying and makes a mess. As selector I failed only because of him. I shall no longer back him. Kick him out. Bring Powar in. Kick out Rahul. Make Sachin captain and Agarkar his deputy.

When you're getting ready for your wedding & require your house to look great, I'll come & paint it all green because I like that colour. Sounds good?
Dravid was given the task of making a young side world champion in a year and a half. When they were doing well, all was hunky dory. But then they started losing & we panicked. We shouldn't have. If a young team had lost to Bangladesh & come back in 5 days, some of them would use that experience to put up a better show in 2011.
Look forward not backward. Seeing from your ar$e is all very well, but try your eyes sometime.

Yea Yea, as you warned Rahul already for the biggest blunder he made to keep Shewag at any cost(cost is WC exit) similarly he tried Kaif number of matches if even scored single digits. He also tried Gautham and failed and failed and finally no choice to drop him. RAHUL IS SO STUBBORN AND NOT FLEXIBLE

Better we Indian don't pray for Oz to lose, because it always backfires. As many fans prayed for India in WC 2003 finals and backfired. This time before start of WC fans prayed and immediately backfired, so dont pray for Oz to lose. GOD DOES NOT LIKE TEAM INDIA - HE REJECTED PRAYERS WHICH IS FOR EVIL

mohan dont talk like a retard ,god helps those who help them selfs, the aussies work hard and they deserve to win
You should know one thing Indian didnt play its full quota of 50 overs in any match. So it is foolish to say ganguly wasted more balls. When wickets fell at one end at regular intervals how could one expect ganguly to come out of crease and hit a six against fast bowlers, which he is capable of. The main person responsible for defeat against Bangla and Srilanka is our Captain Dravid. he should have asked the keeper to come near the crease when the opener Hamim was coming out and hitting fours and sixes. All the other team captain did. Why? our captain didnt think. Honestly speaking do you think of a captain retaining the same team which lost against minnows (bangladesh) against the strong opponent srilanka. This is foolish. Sack dravid from captaincy. I am not comparing captains. Let some new captain be there for India.

Dear Siva, Keeper standing up or staying back does make a diff, if u do not hav enough on the board... by mentioning dat Ganguly did not score at the reqd pace, i also said dat he got out at the wrong time... I am questioning his commitment, but w/o failing to mention dat "baki sab dudh ke dule hain" Kindly note dat he was well set wen he got out, others never got a look in...... Wen they r in form, they will score, unlike him who deserted the team wen reqd...... He definitely has attitude problem, especialy bcoz sumone else is CAPTAIN.....

What diff does it make???? those are the things make hell of a diff. How do you think Flemming with mediocre talent manages so well. If you give he Indian talent he will win WC thrice in a row. Captiancy and those changes are what it is all about at the international stage as every body has talent. And more over we were defending 180 it is not so bad to defend against BD..i dont evn wana try to defend that fact through, India defending a mediocre score against the mighty WI in 83. But even still with just some skills picked up in ranji should be enough to play against BD instead of dropping shoulders and showing face which is so pale. Dravid is a great human, rare batting talent great steel in mind but not a captain. I tend to agree with Siva.

Ganguly was also not supported by the opposition bowlers when he batted. In spite of knowing that he was so scared with short pitched bowling, fast bowlers like Mc Grath, Lee etc. continued to bowl the short pitched stuff at him. So cruel of them! After all, cricket is a gentleman's game. As good gentlemen, the bowlers should have been gentle at him!!
