Club discusses cash in Gavaskar%u2019s locker 07 July, 2000
Mumbai: The general body of the Bombay Gymnkhana club met here Thursday evening to discuss the discovery of a huge amount of cash in a locker belonging to cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar.
However, most of the members refused to speak on the outcome of the meeting.
Gavaskar who was supposed to give his version of the matter however decided to stay away from the meeting.
Kamal Morarka, one of the Vice-Presidents of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, was one of the few members who spoke about the controversy. He said, ''It was nobody's business to know what was kept in the locker. Do we ask any person what is there in his pocket''.
Soon after the match-fixing controversy broke out, there were reports that a lot of cash was found in Gavaskar's locker in September 1999. His wife Marshneil had said that since it was during those times when the cricket star was flying in and out of the country for his commentary work, he had no time to deposit the money in the bank and had put in the cash, which could run into thousands, in the locker.

Why dont u yourself take a initiative to file a case stating u r hurt the way Saurav was treated, no doubt lots of other players like VVS Laxman have not taken into squad but u kept silence REASON HE WAS NOT YOUR BENGALI DADA????
Grwwn up and behave like a mature man but hope is very less....
One Bengali = poet. Two Bengalis = a film society. Three Bengalis = political party. Four Bengalis = two political parties. More than four Bengali's = Countrywide agitation to bring Ganguli into Team.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH......goodone!!!
This may be true for this forum but in reality I have few good bengali friends and I am fully disagree with u
Same side I agree with u based on the messages posted by the bengalis were highly biased to Saurav Ganguli, Everybody knows that Saurav was dropped due to his bad performance for a long time BUT this was a BCCI mistake that they have not dropped Sachin and Sehwag on same reason??
If anybody disagree then he should prove then Saurav performance and compare with other batsmen ( not with Sachin and Sehwag, I have already told them they MUST be out)
How many Tests have India won when Sachin Tendulkar scores a hundred?
To date Sachin Tendulkar has scored 34 Test centuries, and 11 of them (32.35%) have been in matches that India went on to win. Eight of them came in matches that India lost, and 15 in draws. That percentage puts him a fair way down the list of players with ten or more Test centuries - Adam Gilchrist is on top there, as 11 of his 13 centuries (84.62%) have come in matches that Australia went on to win. Australians dominate the top of this list - Damien Martyn is second, with nine of his 11 Test tons so far leading to wins (81.82%), and Don Bradman is third. He scored hundreds in 28 Tests, and Australia won 22 of them (78.57%). Then come Michael Slater, Matthew Hayden, Steve Waugh and Mark Waugh, before the first non-Aussie - Inzamam-ul-Haq, who has scored centuries in 20 Tests, of which Pakistan have won 15 (75%). Warwick Armstrong scored centuries in six matches, and Australia won the lot - he's one clear of yet another Aussie, Darren Lehmann, there (centuries in five Tests, five wins). At the other end of the scale Bevan Congdon of New Zealand and India's Vijay Manjrekar both made centuries in seven Tests, but didn't finish up on the winning side in any of them. Jimmy Sinclair of South Africa uniquely scored three Test centuries in his career, and ended on the losing side each time.

Many people are surprised to see so many people going against Mr. Tendulkar.
#1. People who know cricket and watch cricket know how Tendulkar exploited the opportunity.
#2. People who do not watch enuf cricket or just see it in news/media (or are his relatives) favor him.
#3. Personally speaking he is a great player but somewhere in his career he thought of becoming CAPTAIN and started POLITICS, making 100 and getting out... but he forgot its all about HABBIT ... and now that became his habbit getting out around 100 ... how many 150 scores he has?
#4. When Sorav ganguly and Dravid scored centuries in England ... he ust have felt bad coz until then He was having Monopoly... in Hindi - Andhon mein kana raja.
#5. with Sehwag came in the side and became famos (try to think how may people talked abt tendulkar when Sehwag was going great) it became obvious that Openers can make centuries even if they dont have technique! In fact Sehwag holds better records than Sachin I would love to see Sachin scoring 300 in an innings.
#6. Sachin is best - provided he quits politics.
#7. If you remember his back pain politics - when he used to score 70 odd and hold his back and then india will loose... I thought either he should have taken retirement or get his back fixed. But don't mess with Cricket.
Now it is the time for ten-duck kar to rest as he has failed countinusly for 20 matches with an average of 20. And it seems that he cannot play in pressure. seeing his past record we should not select him.

ready????? u r ready to kiss i suppose u run after guys sometimes over phone to someone abroad .... shame on u
1)The player are talented no doubt but they need right game tactics and a right coching staff.
2)The BCCI needs spring cleaning..especially Pawar who needs a face lift.
3)The players shouldn't be allowed to have fancy hair(do i ring any bells Mr Dhoni?)..certainly not the type inspired by Andrew Symonds of australia..(he's a great batsman though).
4)They should have absolutly no hyped up connections with bollywood (Do you here me Zaheer and Yuvrj?)or any other film related stuff...Also Adverts should be given less importance and they shouldn't spent a whole load of time doing ads.Remember Practice comes first ALWAYS!
5)There should not be any "fixed" position in the team. All players should be equal standards and all players' can be relaced due to lack of consistancy. (for which they need to find good back up players).
6)Players should be honoured for good consistant performance. They do this in Austalia and South Africa.
7)All players should be good fielders.I mean ALL of them! For instance can you compare Munaf Patel to Glenn McGrath? And look at the age difference.
8)All players HAVE TO..i mean it...play domestic or county cricket...pay cut if they don't! Selectors have to research from all forms of Domestic cricket.
These are some steps i would take if i were the President of BCCI...except im not Fatman Pawar!
Is it really hard to understand the vast difference between cricket and politics?
