How ironic is the fact that after Nathan Astle, the most prolific kiwi batsman announced his retirement (shocking, to say the least; just before a WC, the kiwis have secured the most satisfying wins to their credit. Assuming that the bench strenght of Australia, the Brad Haddins and the Cameron Whites of the world are the future of Australia, the future does look a bit shaky. Whatever the reason for Astle's retirement, he will surely be missed even though it doesnt feel like that way now.

all the match timings are mentioned here... http://www.rediff.com/cricket/wc07schedule.html
Well, there has been a raging debate as to who should open for India. Perhaps if we could figure out, who not to open with, or who should not bat lower down, then probably we could figure out the combination. As of now, precedence should be given to form alone. After all, each match in the WC counts. Its like one of those Board exams, where its not a question of how much you know about the subject but how much you score. And current form is the only yardstick by which you can judge things. Going by that, Saurav makes the cut easily. The Bengal tiger roars everytime he is asked to take the 22 yards these days. Hope he remains on the purple patch as long as the WC continues. It is very important to get solid starts. That would ensure Tendulkar & Co donot fall into the over-defensive warp. That would leave Sehwag and Utthappa as the second choice openers. Its good to play Sehwag and Utthappa as openers in the warmups to the run up of the WC. Either of them would warrant selection based on current form, which is exactly what i am trying to tell. Hope somebody's listening. Mr Chappell?

I feel Uthappa & Sehwag will open in the World Cup. Followed by Ganguly, Sachin, Yuvraj & Dravid.

Hallo Friends as per my thinkinking Uthapa should open with Sourav.Bcos he has the natural ability for sending ball to boundary within powerplay 20 overs.Iam also blindly support Sehwag for open But he is slightly shorter than Uthapa. As a fresher he is impressed with his batting. So we can't ignor him.So Sehwag should bat in middle order & our batting line will more sarpen.
After Returning of S.Ganguly,Z.Khan n other players who was out of form.i think it will be a big trouble for other team to take world cup from india.Best of luck team india, karlo dunia muthe main
