Real Talent
by Balakumaran on Apr 26, 2007 01:19 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This worldcup shows that the nation that has talent, hard work, integrity, team work, consistency can deserve the worldcup. We all know that Indian Cricket team
1) lacks team effort/integrity due to politics between players (Dravid Vs Ganguly), politics between coach and players, politics btw players and selection comittee, politics within selection comittee
2) lacks hardwork since players are working hard for their commercial advertisements rather than cricket
3) lacks consistency since we are always shuffling players selection, batting order, bowlers selection, selection committe members

The only positive point is, we have talents but lacking rest of things. BCI is talking abt building nice grounds/pitches like in Aus, but look at Sri Lanka. They entered the final because they are good enough on all the areas.

Hence, our current BCI strategy of picking 30 players wont give success unless they address all the key areas.

Worst World Cup EVER
by Annie on Apr 25, 2007 09:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is by far the worst world cup I've ever seen. Both the semi finals are completely anticlimatic (As i write this SA is 122/8, with a performance this disgusting one can't even entertain the hopes of some miracle). This world cup will probably be remembered for all wrong reasons, so many players retiring, coaches resigning, empty stadiums, woolmer's murder, need I go on. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am thoroughly disgusted by the whole affair. There better be a very competitive final to make up for this.

Every result is based on performance... No Luck No Rain! I think this world cup shows where each team stands.

World cups are supposed to have the air of a carnival with some of the best cricket being played, so far this tournament has been a snoozefest. I really don't care who wins or loses, but all I want are good COMPETITIVE matches. If this is how the teams really stack up, and not one team can give any decent competition to australia then it is a very sorry state of affairs.

Set Max Sux
by Freek Guy on Apr 25, 2007 05:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Set Max has become Advertisement Max. Their new style of airing a series of advertisements, then showing the field for a second and then reverting to advertisements suddenly is a new spoil ploy. It adds to the woes from the non-cerebral out spurts from its shameless anchor chick

STRENGTH OF CHARACTER
by Vaibhav Krishna Sihorkar on Apr 25, 2007 03:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We as a genre lack strength of character. we belienve in premature celebrations, anguish, frustation, expression and anger.

If I ask my self if I have done enough in my personal, professional and social endeavours. The answer in most probability would be a tame "NO".

Once we as a generation focus on accountability in everything what we say or do, the resultant, including 15 cricket players, fail to succeed, as they fail to show accountability, when it matters most, they fail to challenges.

Let us change the trend.

I beg to differ. We definitely achieve in our personal and professional lives. Luckily, most of us are not in a Government job. The cricketers feel it is a Govt. job, so no accountability.
