A close match between Srilanka & Bangladesh: Expectation from Big brother India
by Brahmananda Chakraborty on Mar 21, 2007 04:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As Indian we should pray for a close contest match between Srilanka and Bangladesh. In that case no one can increase their run rate by a large margin and a victory against Srilanka will put India in Super-8. Going to Super-8 with 2 extra point gives higher probability in entering to Semis. We hope India will beat Srilanka and go to Super-8 along with Srilanka so that 2 extra point will help in the second round.

As an Indian it would be better to pray that lanka beats Bangladesh by a bigger margin.
that will enhance lanka's chances to get into super 8.
If we are going to beat lanka, then it doesn't matter if lanka's run rate gets better than us in today's game. Right?

Sidhu murdered a person with
a cricket bat. So channels
might be little bit wary of him.

Manjeraker is the best in business.
Don't know how he got missed out.

gavaskar:"look at the balance, the follow through(u guessed it...of tendulkar)splendid!!!" now how many times have we heard this line?
manjarekar:"this is something i have against tendulkar...he has the capacity but never hits such telling blows as gibbs did now" u didnt do anything apart from getting run out or running others out.

Read and Think before making astatement against me
by Anirban Basu on Mar 21, 2007 01:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

By Anirban

I just cannot understand why people call this type of cricket event as World Cup? Is this truly a World Cup? Definitely not. We are living in a FOOLS%u2019 PARADIS, and we are becoming fools day by day. Cricket is making us fool. Look at the other countries and compare the position of India with them. Ghana not only qualifies for World Cup Football, Malta is winning Gold in Olympics, even Pakistan is winning Gold in Olympics; and what we are doing? Just becoming crazy behind some bloody jokers. Cricket is an event where, Bollywood stars, politicians, and businessmen are the dominant players, not the general fitness of sportsmen, nor the performance of the players, not even the nationalism and pride for the country. I am sure that after 20 years, India will no longer in a position for qualifying even in a single sporting event anywhere on the Globe. Sports are those things which build Morality and Ethical values in the mind of the citizens of a country. India doesn%u2019t have that spirit because of that lack of sporting spirit and good quality of sportsmen. A country like India should play Football, Hockey, Rugby, Volleyball, which need physical fitness, devotion and mental strength, not cricket, which is dominated by glamour, entertainment, match fixing and scandal. It is seemed to be a circus. Still we have time to improve our condition. It is my pray to everybody to throw Cricket and Cricketers in the sea. Being a son of my motherland, I wish India%u2019s loss in each and every match in this ICC World Fun and Entertainment.

Cicket requires nuances, eye coordination
and other mental skills.

Most of the games like football favor
Red meat (Pigs and Cows) eating
countries as they emphasis more on
brute force and aggression than game
nuances and skill.

I wish India to be looser in World Cup Cricket

Anirban.........

I can't really understand why people call this tourmament as World Cup. This is a big joke to all of us Indians. Media is provoking us to believe this and we do. We just don't think that because of this jocker like circus, we are loosing our control over other sporting events. We were at the last position in tha last Olympic. Ghana is qualifying for WC Football, Malta is winning Gold in Olympics, and we are becoming crazy behind all these bloody cricketers. Still we have time. We should throw Cricket and Cricketers in the sea. Because, making people fool with this type of circus like game is very easy and we are becoming fool everyday by cricketers, Bollywood stars and politicians. May god bless our country...................................

Some effects are already seen.

Some people are mad for the game and some are mad against the game.

It is still better than boozing, gambling or scuffling, although these three things might go along as well.

Still it is better.

The positives are - inspite of all crazy fan behaviours cricket is something on which entire India can unite. It is a sort of ingredient of nationalism.

Secondly just imagine how much money is generated and spend around the game. Spending by some means income for some others. Players coaches organisers TV commentators column writers groundsmen food packet sellers tattoo makers etc etc etc. The money these people spend generates more money and so on.

So pleez have mercy on these people.

Don't rob their livelihood.

Dont rob the livelihood of Sachin Saurav Rahul and and and and and Viru also and thers in the team or out of the team.

I beseech you do not plead for something which if the country somehow accepts would create a huge uneployment beside other reasons posted by

the readers.

Thanks!

Just forget it for a grater cause.

win or loose learn to play the game
by Ravishankar Kumarasamy on Mar 21, 2007 12:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We would love see India in the Super8.Even if they donot make it please understand that Cricket is only a Game played by human beings.Take a leaf from your Srilankan neighbour, they too have lots of passion for the game but donot act crazy at time of a defeat.Even Jayasuriya is just another person on the road, they all are just personalities in this country and we haven't given a celebrity nor a demigod status to them.
This crazy behaviour is caused a few individuals,But think of the overall image of your country. As India as a country has been offering lots more to the world than just cricket .

From a Srilankan friend
