i dont know why people cannot even appreciate the hardwork done by this guy. most of us indians are crazy about our film actors ,actresses and cricketers. we all know most of these actors are there due to connections or being son ,daughter ,brother or sister of actor or director.i dont think they are there due to there hardwork . and how about these actresses with how many people they have to sleep to get famous.but we indians treat them as gods . but we cannot appreciate the hard work done by this guy who has achieved so much all because of his efforts not due to connections.what about all the money that these cricket stars are making . they are paid millions of dollars for advertisement , millions of dollars by bcci and millions of dollars by the goverment. they are paid that money because we all people living in all over india watch that sport, why cannot this bcci or goverment spend that money into rural areas or small towns . 70% of the people in india live in villages and most of them are also passionate about cricket. why bcci not doing anything for them .why these film stars are not doing anything for them.i hope people will take my message in positive way. jai hind

you have forgotten the most important thing. They have grown and lead lavish life only from common man's money but seldom they show their gratitude in time of emergency (see Govinda or Ms. Dutt both MPs from Congress did not turn up during the bomb blast in local train and rain havoc). We people are fools (except me as I do not watch movies)and are worried about why Ash did not yet deliver baby and Madhuri got two sons? when our sisters are yet to get married. We fantacise with their photograph pasted all around instead of thanking our near and dear who were with us at the time of adversity. Till we realise ourselves and come out of fools paradise, there are many unknown urchins who will come to lime light through our craze patronage, in the near future.
Khali cannot be a national hero. The other guy here rightly said, he did not even represent India in Olympics or for the country anywhere. And WWW fight is a mock fight as a matter of fact.
this man's talent was wasted in india. its good that he went to a place where his talents were admired, and now in that bargain he's brought some worldwide awareness about india. i people should see this side of the story as well.
and we need more people who's talents are recognised. not only a select few movie/tv stars, businessmen politicians and a handful of cricketers. we have very little persons outside of this.
the more stars we have - the less iconic they become, and more equality there is for people.
This abnormal man is not a national icon, did not fight for the country or olympic. How he became hero. Eversince he came to India, he is running after money devoting his all time with directors and producers. To me deepak from Pune is more professional and wrestler than this Khali the beast.

rightly said. this chap doesnt know how he's come up.
given his massive size, he probably wouldnt fit into a proper wrestling team, besides given how our olympic teams are run and the kind of focus there is on sports, one is surely forgiven for not taking the onus of getting medals for the billion indians.
if we need more medals, we as a country should focus on it. if there's competition from the district levels and hundreds of thousands of sports persons all over he country we can hope to produce some olympians - simple fact.
all we do is aim and produce bright minds... "kheloge khudoge tho hoge kharab, padoge likhoge tho banoge nawab" - now havent yu heard of that before ? or better still "hum honge kamayab 'EK' din" or "participation is more important than winning" . when we have such ideals drilled into kids right from when they are born we will remain backwards in sports and games.

yeah right , fact of the matter is no one knows this deepak friend of yours, and before u crib about the lack of opportunity for wrestling in india, its not gonna change ,we are obsessed with cricked as that is the only game we can play and to top it australia is better than us after pumping so much money they are underperforming , we should stick to our blind faith that indians are the cleverest in the world and stay there as ,and work at peanuts for american countries , thats all they feel we are worth
