Saviour of Punjab...India....but destroyer of Indian Hockey....KPS Gill should step down immediately on purely moral grounds....if he does have a conscience....hockey in India is going the way of football...for the last 13 years it has been a steady decline....is the sports minister awake or is he merely interested in warming the chair...besides of course raving and ranting about secularism...pakistan witch hunting Karnataka over the 'Cauvery'.....and taking on a dead Veer Savarkar....time for some introspection at all levels

or maybe busy abusing karnataka over cauvery .. instead of doing something for indian sports
Hockey in India suffers from " Sudden Interest during Asian Games / Olympics; and then total amnesia." With India Shining, the Sports Ministry could be given a special task of increasing the ranking of India in Football and Hockey. An important campaign slogan of the Political Parties for the next election. !!! A special provison in the Budget for tax exemption/ incentive for investments for Hockey/ Football ??
RE:KPS Gill is eve-teaser!! How can he head Hockey?!!

Yes man like Gill killed our national game .Its very sad.I don't know anywhere in the world a professional sports is headed by a police man or a military man . Its so unfortunate that today in india there is gross poverty of talents as a hockey player & coach .
Are u kidding me !!!!!! That poor man Dhyanchand's soul must be cringing in heaven. If only the hockey fans and administrators stopped criticizing cricket players and officials for being commercially strong and started putting their own house in order we would be spared this horrendous sight .
Guys lets accept this, Our players just dont have the killing spirit when it really matters. We boast of a very talented side, but if the players in the field cannot play to a gameplan there is nothing that can be done. Having played the game for sometime, i think it deserves enormous reserves of physical and mental strength to turn the tide especially when u are up against the wall. The forwards and mid field should just play like one whole unit possessed with the thought of winning. There is nothing much to do at this stage except to demand more from the players and start all over again,
the infrastructure that is need for a needed to play hockey by a common man is far too expensive than that of cricket. That is the only reason why hockey or any other sport is not popular. Also all the games are managed by federations and not by an autonomous body like BCCI. for officials of these federations it is just a job that they are doing for a salary and no passion to win or promote the games is needed or compulsory. definitely all the games will suffer. replace all these federations by autonomous body run by former players with good infrastructure and international coaching support and we definitely can see some results after 5 years.

in that case football is cheapest... u can play anytime come rain or shine...all it needs is a little ground..its not the expense which makes it more popular..its our attitude we indians dont like games which needs physical stamina..eg..hockey, basket ball, football...we might excel in shooting, archery, chess, carrom board, cricket where we can use more of brain than stamina...cricket captain probably is the only captain in all sports who needs to apply brain..the rest games dont need captains brains...
let us select a democratic way like bcci for the election of Hockey federation president and other ministry ,rather than keeping a non performer like KPS Gill. dONT GET JUST JEALOUS ON CRICKET.Try to impliment the best part of it to hockey too.
