by ananth on Feb 11, 2008 04:16 PM  Permalink

It is creditable that Chowrasia bagged the cup which had the former world #4 Ernie Els of South Africa. Hope he wins more tournaments in India and abroad. All the best to him.

WELL DONE SSP: GOOD JOB REDIFF.
by C A K Reddy on Feb 11, 2008 09:24 AM  Permalink

CONGRATS SSP. YOU HAVE FINALLY WON A BIG ONE. CONSISTENCY IS A KEY FACTOR IN SPORTS AND PARTICULARLY SO IN GOLF.... AND YOU HAVE SCORED OVER THE DEVIL IN YOUR MIND BY BEING THE ONLY PLAYER IN THE ENTIRE FIELD TO PLAY BELOW PAR ROUNDS ON ALL 4 DAYS. YOU HAVE LOST TOURNAMENTS IN THE RECENT PAST BY SPOILING A HOLE OR TWO. BY WINNING THIS INDIAN MASTERS YOU HAVE ACHIEVED A 3 YEAR EXEMPTION TO PLAY ON THE PRESTIGIOUS EUROPEAN TOUR. (currently only 3 indians play full time on this tour...JEEV, JYOTI & SHIV KAPUR) I AM SURE THIS WIN WOULD PROVIDE YOU INSPIRATION TO WIN ON THE EUROPEAN SOIL AND GOD WILLING ON THE PGA TOUR AS WELL... CONGRATS.....
thanks REDIFF for bringing this news item ... cricket is Ok .... but there are other sports as well ....agreed INDIA defeated the AUSSIES but that looks more like a flash in the pan.
WHAT ABOUT TENNIS ...WE DEFEATED UZBEKISTAN IN THE DAVIS CUP BUT NO MENTION OF THAT IN YOUR NEWS COLUMNS. GUYS AND GALS AND ALL THE SPORTS LOVERS... ENJOY THIS MOMENT BECAUSE NOT EVERYDAY DO WE SEE INDIANS WIN THREE BIG MATCHES IN DIFFERENT SPORTS. CONGRATS TO THE TENNIS TEAM AS WELL

Good Show

Congrats to SSP. He is a good player. But in order to survive in Professional Golf, one needs a sponsor else people like SSP will rot in India or near by Asian countries. Hope some of our corporates will support him so that he can graduate to US PGA and EURO PGA.

well said and you are spot on. even after winning big tournaments all over EUROPE & ASIA, we still dont have big sponsors for players like JEEV, JYOTHI, SHIV KAPUR & ARJUN ATWAL...

Hats Off! Be consistent, don't choke like our other Golf players, like all our sportsmen. Keep achieving. Don;t let this victory go to your head, as it happens to all our sportsmen. Once again, congrats for your achievement.
