Much better than Sania
by shyamal aleem on Aug 11, 2008 01:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sania Mirza has been winning all the accolades just becuase of the oomph she carries. Otherwise the true champ is SAINA.... a much more deserving candidate than Ms Mirza to get the Nation's backing

True Heroes

These are our true Heroes. We need to worship them and not the ones with 11 dumb heads, no responsibilities, and lots of money in their pocket

I love these kids - Abhinav and Saina
by indian on Aug 11, 2008 01:26 PM  Permalink

The kids are doing what they should do. Just go and play. They do not seem to care who the opponent is world number 1 or 2 or 3 or...

What makes these kids great is the fact that they are competing with more than 100 nations not 4 or 5 like cricket.

I am really proud to be an Indian after many many many... I do not remember last time when I felt proud.

a dream come true !!
by Madhuri Saxena on Aug 11, 2008 01:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

when i came to know about bindra's gold medal, i messaged all my friends about this news. you know what reply i got "dont joke madhu". yes, nobody could believe this. still people are trying to confirm the news as something totally unexpected and undeserving has happened. congrats abhinav for making this possible, for re directing the pessimistic indian mind to an optimistic path. we are so proud of you. and to the media ..... please promote all sports like hockey, shooting, badminton etc.. they should come out from the jinx that india is cricket and cricket is india. and also they should self restrain itself. i ve seen reports in media like "no hope in olympics athletics this time" and all. let me ask you - did anyone expect a medal for rathore in the athens olymoic games ? no. but this time he s a media favourite. stop over praising those who bring glory. sania mirza is the glittering example in this case. that is what i mean by balanced journalism. all the best to the whole indian contingent. let the unexpected things happen again. we indians are so curious to hear more and more indian national anthems to be played at the prize podium.

Congratulations
by Piyush Gupta on Aug 11, 2008 01:18 PM  Permalink

Congratulations to Saina and to Abhinav. The reason for these people being able to play in Olympics is that they are playing games which are not touched by politicians. So genuine talent can reach the right platform although it also deprives them of any kind of government support. Hats off to them. Otherwise, see what the cricket team is doing in Srilanka.
