atleast one indian has got the spirit that olympics is a game event. though his feild cricket is not part of olympics, we could see a true sportmanship in the great ravi shastri. its a shame that even kiren bedi, an athletic has refuses citing Silly reasons, ravi has decided to take it up. friend truth always hurts.we are also very repressive in dealing with the problems mentioned above. however we should ( the people , not the government) should boycott the torch as china is still occupies lots of our territory.check with people who know.

To being with all these demonstrations are a tamasha, China hosting the Olympics was not decided yesterday. By the way wy all the hypocrisy why isn't the world showing the same level of concern to what's happening with the Palestenians? Since US is so keen on spreading democracy in the world why does it try that out in China and Russia?

Ali, instead of advising USA on Palestine, why dont you ask Saudi Arabia to first introduce true democracy in that country? Then other west asisn problems will automatically get resolved. Saudis are the worst form of religious intolerance.

My friend, you are right that we all knew that China has had issues with Human rights for a very long time and we have been saying that for same duration. It is only now that the world and media is paying attention because of Olympics as China is using this as an opportunity to join the international community. Indian regained it independence not too long ago. May I request you to ask your grandparent how they felt to live under others. Dalai Lama is only asking for equal rights and opportunity to live our way of life, not independence. Is that too much too ask? Further, for your information the Dalai Lama has never encouraged his people to protest. At the same time he believes in democracy and so he does not stop them as long as it is non-violent. All I am asking you is to consider Tibetans as a fellow human beings with the same aspiration as any person anywhere in this world.

HAHAHA DSouza...show me ex olympians who are famous in India...As far as sport is concerned cricket rules and has become the identity of India in sports. No wonder Oman wants a cricketer from India to carry the torch... it will be a joke to think a country like Oman will invite even a person like PT Usha ( who was the best runner we have produced but whose best record was finishing 4th in olympics...I guess.

As for your comment on cricket - even China wasn't a part of the original ancient Olympics. Only Greece was.
