Re Montgomerie's comment
by shrinivasrao sohoni on Apr 09, 2008 07:28 PM  Permalink

Because of the powerful financial support obtainable in India and enormous future potential, players and organizers of sports events -- whether cricket or golf or whatever, may as well adjust to the simple truth that considerations about Indian support will henceforth materially influence decisions.
The old order changeth.. and has changed. But also, Jeev deserves to be there, and here's wishing him all the best.

Monty, its our time now !
by sachivani on Apr 09, 2008 07:02 PM  Permalink

Well even if we accept what Monty is saying. The truth of the matter is that people can not ignore Asians any more. Just in the same way as Westerners used to get all the chances in the past...esp. in a game like golf where blacks(Afro Americans) were not even allowed to play golf in their own countries.

Sorry Monty, call it what you want - our time has come !
