As an Indian, as a Maharashtrian and as a Sachin fan, I am disappointed. Maybe he is ill-informed with what is happening in this world.
I think we all are responsible for this. How many of us use cheap Chinese products ? Arent we indirectly financing the Chinese establishment to reign terror in Tibet, Burma, Sudan etc ? It is about time that we took responsibility for our actions!

Remember there is no point of independence like this....Fight for you right but remember don't fight for someone else land......this mantra will help social world.
Sachin Tendulkar is the most shameless and selfish sportsperson India has ever seen....
He has ammased his millions, plays only for money and never for the country!!
And now this shameless person wants to carry the Olympic torch???????
What has he done for India?? Has he won even a single medal for India?? Cricket is not an olympic sport so cricketers should never come forward and volunteer to carry the torch..
It should only be left to the sportspersons who have brought fame to India in Olympics or those who play a sport which has representation at the Olympics!!
This is the height of shamelessness by Tendulkar!!
Sorry if I sound naive, but here are few question on top of my mind..
Are we not sending team for Olympic to display we support Tibet? Sorry if I am ignorant on this, but if we are sending a team why should Indians not carry the torch?
Someone gave example of USA, are Americans not sending their sportsmen to China?
I thought we should not mix sports spirit with politics. after all, most of us disliked Sharad Pawar being in BCCI. Dalmiya playing politics.. If this is the way to show our protest, we should not share organizing of Cricket World cup with Pakistan.. we don't like them politically.. do we?
If someone has to carry the torch, let it be someone who is connected with the Olympics do it, NOT SACHIN TENDULKAR. He is not fit or should NOTE be allowed to carry the torch.
Out of the lot Milka should be given the chance or someone who has brought India closer to atleast winning the medal in olympics.
NO WAY SHOULD SACHIN BE ALLOWED, this is height of HYPOCRISY

Steve Waugh carried the torch in Sydney during Sydney 2000. What did he have to do with Olympics except being a resident of Sydney. Michele Platini lit the flame during Winter olympics in Albertville France (1992). He never played in the olympics leave alone winter olympics.

Sachin is indirectly promoting cricket to be inculded in OLYMPIC games by 2020,so u know this is called Indian sports politics -Jai Bharat
He is a true sports person, that is why he is not mixing issues and supporting the Olympic in spite of the facts is Olympic has got nothing to do with cricket...
Every time there will be some issue in the Olympics year, are you guys going to protest against it every time?

milind you are right sports and politics should not be mixed. but it is the CHINESE GOVERNMENT that is using the olympics as a political tool. remember south africa was barred from the sporting arena during the years of apartheid and the nazi government used the 1936 olympics to showcase their power. the chinese govt. is doing the same all the while trampling on human rights in tibet.
