The Republic of India MENS hockey team is defintely the best all time hockey team in the World with 8 olympic golds.
However, on ones ever heard of the India WOMENS hockey team as potrayed in the comedy show produced by the Bombay Boooollywood of Charrukkh Kann and 17 women waltzing around grass in an Australian stadium.
Next time, the Boooollywood should make a movie of the India MENS hockey team which would be more sensible.
Strongly believe that the sports and discipline which do not draw power from money draw a lots of inspiration from National Pride and its confidence. Since the country is riding high on confidence and is the New showkid on the block, the confidence tends to show in the zeal that players exhibit for the nation. Dont have thing against cricket but quite obviously hockey is the game of wizardry, skill and lots of national pride. Most of these players would go back to earn their livelihoods after their glorious run, unlike cricketers since they are all from mean backgrounds. Lets give the game its due respect.. the game which has won 8 Olympic Gold Medals for us and given us not players but legends....
u guys have done it.....we are proud of u....Hats off to the movie Chak De India which has really lifted India's spirits in the sports arena especially Hockey for which we were know for.....think those days will come back for Indian Hockey
The way India played at this tournament, it was like Australia in cricket, just dominated every team. Cogratulations to the team and to the new coach Joachim Carvalho. They have done us proud.
