Media should leave her alone
by Purav Shah on May 31, 2007 10:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Actually if the media and ad.companies can leave her alone, she can re-focus on the game more for better results as she has the potential. Otherwise see what happened to crickets or even the tennis stars like Hanna Kornikova etc. Though Hanna went too too far. Maybe a player to follow is Sharapova. Get slimmer. Better luck next time.

Are you telling me that she can't handle it. Then where will she get the necessary dollars. And how are other players managing ad companies. Why is she an exception?

People like JK and Amit are nutts, it is useless to talk to them. They still don%u2019t get my point.
Yes Sania is making lots of money and representing lots of products. The corporate world is not supporting her but supporting themselves by getting advertised. Why the corporate world not supporting dhakkans like you.
Sania got the attention of corporate and media once she became the professional player and became well known. We need our infrastructure to produce these kind of players (not start supporting them once they already are at their peak)
Don%u2019t forget Sania is competing with players of developed nations who are well taken care of from the day one they have come to this world.
We are one billion plus by default we should have natural talent in everything including sports. We should be able to pick the talent from the day one and trained them to play at international level. Its like you are going for competitive test may be you are naturally talented than all the participants, but you didn%u2019t have proper guidance or training, than you can not compete with people who are professionally trained from day one.
Some countries start training their athelete from day one, they let the baby born in the swimming pool if he/she has to become swimmer. Watch the technique of the worlds best and generate muscles and work on the body from very beginning, any way it s too much for some guys to understand, they would beat the drum from behind

Sameer is gonna build a corporate and build an infrastructure for poor kids and generate more Sania Mirza clones. If you are a Corporate Honcho would you spend your money on building some tennis court in sme obscure village? Prudence will tell you to invest in Sania Mirza's dress instead. Tennis is a professional sport and it is every man to himself. Dont blame corporates to cme to the rescue. If someone needs to rescue indian sports then it is the Govt and not corporates and it needs to give preference for team sports like hockey and football.

Sameer Joshi, you are absolute humbug of a fool!!
you don't know what you are talking about!!
Sania Mirza has corporate sponsors and also advertises for some corporates who are not her sponsors!! How can you mix the two issues?? they are two completley different issues!!
Sania Mirza gets corporate support; without that support, she would not be able to compete on a global basis!! Cmon, she is not Serena or Amelie to do that!! Get this clear first and then you will understand!!

Abouut corporate support for the game as such, well, that is a different topic and is mainly applicable to a sport that is played at a professional level in the country!!
Eg. as a hockey player, i can play for Punjab police or HPCL, HPCL then builds the facilities to promote their won interests!!

that kind of penetration is still not seen in Tennis!! It is still seen as a game of the elite!!

Sania crashes out
by Raam on May 31, 2007 10:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We enjoy headlines "Sania storms to II round" and "Sania crashes out of II round". Thsese have become very common now a days. Still I appreciate this lady from India for her fighting spirit. Other woman players in the circuit have more manly body, a few look more manly than Federer!!!

Thats called fitness my dear and not manly with the exception of Amelie Musuromo now and Matina Navratilova then both Lesb*&ns. If you cite this as a reason for her pathetic performance then Sania Mirza need not worry about winning as she knows thet she is safe with fans like you.

Salute Sania
by Sameer Joshi on May 31, 2007 10:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We have had some glimpses like Prakash Padukon winning All england Badminton, Amritraj's in Tennins etc., but if people like you would descourage than we would see this kind of talent died before even reaching to its peak. We should encourage them and support them, there should be big domestic tournament with big money attached to it, media and corporate world should pitch in so that peoples interest could be generated and we can divert our talents in these sports and than we should aim for French open or Wimbeldon or world cup foot bal etc.
We should salute players like Sania for whatever they are achieving on international level considering our poor sport infrastructure and support system

She's fat , she does the physical strength to compete in a international arena.
In india she may do good because there is no one to compete, but i doubt she'll make it to any grand slam final leave alone winning it.
Good news is Maria sharpova is doing well, salute her ;-))))

Good one Mr Murthy, Mr Mandar Mule seemed more interested in boastful talk "I have seen half the globe", hahahaha!!
the moot point is, what have you done around half the globe!!
There are some extremely frustu IT guys(called code coo*lies in the US) out here!! And their frust level is obvious, it is just the need for peer group approval and the herd mentality that drives lakhs to the US every year!! what you do in the US also matters a lot!!

even though i do not appreciate Mr Murthy looking down on Indians, in this case, i'am happy that he has flogged the backside of Mr Mandar Mule!! Mr Mule saw this as an opportunity to promote his "GLOBE TROTTER"(WHAT SHI*T??)status, no genuine love for India at all!! That is what was clear from his message!!
Cheers Mr Murthy!!
