Forza milan
by kapil srinivasan on May 04, 2007 10:18 PM  Permalink

I have been following Milan for the last 11 years, and every time I see them performing on the field, i have goosebumps!

the return leg was absolute class, one that will surely go down as a top rated milan performance, but it was expected of them and they delivered.

sadly, in India, not many follow the Serie A and not many know any club other than the "big 4" of EPL. Thats sad cos there are quality and talent outside and a club like Milan can decimate the best of the EPL sides anyday.

And like I say after each Milan victory, FORZA MILANO!

The to-be set up final clash in the champions league have certainly raised some questions about the "premiership teams" and "cup teams".the last team to have done it is Barcelona.

India Lacks Soccer Culture !!!
by Mr Lee on May 03, 2007 04:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

99.99% of Indians who claim to be soccer fans are all fakes. Soccer is the 'in' thing and we have many wannabes here in India who knows nothing abt soccer but want to be in the gang of soccer enthusiasts. so they support english clubs and england as thts wht is covered by the Indian media.

for those 99.99 % fake Indians, espn star soccer panel decides who is the best player in the world (who else but someone playing in the EPL). for such people

Best Player - Beckham (even to this date)

Best Defender - Terry

Best Midfielder - Christiano Ronaldo

Best Goalie - Dudek/Cech

Best Striker - Henry

Most promising youngster - Rooney

All time greatest player - Charlton/Best

its not a coincidence that all these players play in the EPL. its lack of knowledge of such wannabes.

However for the remaining 0.01 % of soccer fans in India and 100% of the soccer fans outside the great briton, the list is very different.

Best Player - Kaka

Best Defender - Nesta

Best Midfielder - Ronaldinho

Best Goalie - Buffon

Best Striker - Henry/Eto

Most promising youngster - Messi

All time greatest player - Pele/Maradona/Baggio

99.99% of Indian soccer fans will cheer for Liverpool in the finals of champs league while the remaining 0.01% will laugh at those ignorant supporters.

As for those who believe tht liverpool did actually defeat milan the last time they met in the finals of the same competition.... How many of you really believe that liverpool deservedly won it??? milan were later penalised for match fixing. wanst tht match very very suspicious. Milan agreed tht they fixed a few matchs. Uefa did a cover up by not conducting an inquiry into tht match as tht wud dent the popularity of their premier club competition.

Definitely you think a bit too much of your self, dont you? And what wrong in supporting an english team when that is the only league covered in India, rather at proper timing. i know even La liga is covered in Zee. very well.

And perhaps i do not know that the ones who claim to be followers of football are just starting out to follow, and may be that is the start of any footballing enthusiast.
I have started following Manutd well after the treble but now i ama vivid football enthusiast with knowledge of most of the happening at least in Europe. And i am saying this becasue i am not the only one whom i know is knowledgable about football, there are many whom i know are ardent fooball lovers.
Do not just criticize people that way, I believe that will boost the football interest in India.

And well by the way, you look very funny when you quote the best players up there, you mocked at general people , and i mock at you.
Kaka best player! well he is very good, but best?! just on the backing of 10 goals in europe?
Ronaldinho best midfielder! well biased again, what a lack lustre season he has this time.
Henry best striker?! hmm again , when was the last time you saw him play!(may be same with Eto)
All time greatest player - Pele/Maradona/Baggio??! whoa whom are you quoting again, what basis! .

Gigi best keeper, well again, he is very good, but why best?! how do u compare him with other, why does cech lose out eh!

Messi surely is very very good, and so why isnt ronaldo the best eh? are u sure they can be compared. Ronaldo wins headers, he is stronger. Both have their weaknesses.
I see no reason why you should out right go on and say who is the best or worst.
May be thats y its done by voting.

See the positive side of the football in India rather than branding them glory hunters and fakes.

I am sure you know the rules of football, the team that puts more number of blass behind the net wins. And i am sure liverpool did not liverpool did not defy that law. duh.
They rejuvenated in the second half, while Milan was clue less. may be (slackened).

And you are coming with a brillinat logic saying Milan fixed the champians league final, haha I seriously doubt your intellect.

Fine take a chill pill sit back and enjoy, i am sure u do watch the premiership week ends. If you dont, well better stop talking football.

And finally, I guess you are stating the obvious, "india Lacks Football culture" duh. Well my friend its in the lines of saying Germany lacks cricket culture.

You expect Football to be in the same lines as it is in europe?! Hmmm.

Calm down Einstein,

First of all Its "FOOTBALL" and not "SOCCER". Do u think u come under 0.01% when u dont even know name of the game? How u can name Baggio as greatest ever player(for your information there are 3 baggios in history of football and none of them were closer to be best ever). ok best player is KAKA(may be ronaldinho or ronaldo)today. But to recongnise it we dont require "Einstein" like u. Have u in touch with current football affairs? AC Milan wants John Terry at any cost. If they are having best defender(ie Nesta)why they require JT at any cost? And finally what the f*** u know abt match fixing scandle. Cynical people like you are real scandler and criminal. So get the f*** out of this stupid discussion. U r not even football fan obviousely not expert. Understand u Einstein!

brothers n sisters

am being very polite while expressing my views. i expect the sme from u.

n thts not my favs list. tht was a general list open to discussion/debate. if u ask for my favs then it will be packed with azzuris.

fyi, best player isnt the one who played well in the last match, but the one who has been playing well for the past 2-3 seasons. as per your theory, one day a waste character like wes brown could be the best player in the world going by his last match's performance.

every player goes through a lean phase n thts exactly wht Ronaldinhio is going through.

Forget 2005 and focus on May 23rd!!
by Akash on May 03, 2007 03:54 PM  Permalink

Like some1 said ..... both teams should look at this match with a fresh perceptive and forget 2005. Anyone who dwells on the past going into this game is doomed
