Beckham was not at all a threat. There were no specific focus on him. The absence of Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard was negative for England. Also defence was rather weak. Shorey was the weak point.

why didnt young guns like Darren Bent and Ashley Young (Aston Villa) not tried out? Why wasn't Jolien Lescott not tried out in defense especially as he is doing so well for Everton? Why wasnt Scott Carson not tried as GK? Why shud McClaren persist with Robinson despite his porr keeping over the last one year???? The English FA should be held responsible...
