It is a shame that such large corporates who spends millions to promote their brands can't adopt this new hope for India.

Sponsor !!
by Sunit Kumar on Aug 22, 2007 08:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What Anup Sridhar has achived is fantastic but he has reached only the Quaters, had he won the cup i bet he would have pushed sania out (if our media was not sleeping). The point to be noted is J.C Owens equaled the world Sprint record when he was training in the college HEATS, his sponsorship came after that. Cricket got its fame after the 1983 World Cup, Paes,Bhupati, Sania for that matter, achived something before they got offer...Before Anup Prakash Padukone and Gopichund have achieved much more...so i say show the results and take the BOOTY !!!

Hey dude

What did Sania achieve - one title in a third rung tournament? I don't want to demean Sania's achievement. She has become the heartthrob of all Indians because she has talent and is also so beautiful. Koneru Humpy is the number 2 woman in the world in chess. I don't see her getting such fame and sponsorships.

Roger Binny

Your words are downright insulting and your jealous feelings are better turned to achieving something positive.

I knew at least one of them years before he made his billions. I can tell you he deserves a lot for his single minded commitment to achieve big. He went of course much beyond that and seized all the opportunities that came his way, without losing sight of his goal.

Nothing prevents you from earning big bucks and as you have a feel to help the upcoming sportspersons, you have the incentive also.

The above people have shown the way and inspired many that success can be had provided you want it in the first place and ready to work for it.

Roger Binny,
What was your contribution to anything till now? Their millions are earned by their intelligence/ hardwork/ luck or maybe manipulation/looting/cheating whatever they are capable of. You have no right to ask them to part with them.
If you can, earn and then sponser somebody. Don't be jealous.

Focus away from cricket
by prasanth kumaresh on Aug 22, 2007 07:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

i want to request all corporate ppl in charge of sponsoring to look beyond cricket. we need to produce better sports persons in all sports. Its not the lack of talent in our country but its the absence of appreciation.
Thanks to Leander, Mahesh and Sania Tennis is appreciated in India.
We need to produce world quality sports persons, which can be done through proper training and adequate resources. so corporates plz sport all Indian sports, atleast the ones who are promising.
