Let Sania wear anything she likes..why poke our nose in her private affairs..If she is a celebrity it does not mean she is a scape goat..Hey Media!!There are many other important concerns in this country waiting to be addressed immediately..Leave these silly things and focus on whats important

what hypocrisy
by sher doaba on Nov 12, 2006 06:15 AM  Permalink

Sania was praised by a large number for taking on muslim bigotry, for defying mullhas by wearing revealing (read functional) tennis dresses.

and what a turnaround it has been.

By wearing hijabs she is condoning subjugation and degradation of women as in arabic culture and religion i.e. islam.

speaking just for myself, Sania u\'ve disappointed me.

Islam and fundamentalism
by jamal on Nov 12, 2006 03:27 AM  Permalink

I want to write a little more but at the moment i request you all to go and read about islam first and then discuss it. If somebody does not have a complete knowledge os islam he cannot discuss anything genuenly. There are a lots of muslims who do the same thing.

Prophet Mohammed fought multiple wars at his time and does anybody know how many people got killed. It is less than thousand and how much he conquered from north to south and east to west. Turn the pages of history and ask yourselves a question - who gave peace to the humanity and to the world and we muslims donot shy about when we say islam is nothing but peace. Non-muslim have security under islam. Read how they were treated at that time and after that. Muslims rulled the world for hundreds of years to spread peace , there are exceptions as weel as couple of rulers misused islam for their own purposes and exploited the public

to be continued

SANIA IN BURQAH
by Peace on Nov 12, 2006 03:02 AM  Permalink

Also Mr.Batt.. you told muslims are terrorist ,

What they calling so?? They are fighting for their Home land...for eg : Palaestine , Afganisthan and Iraq...

And Please note mr Bhat there r 30 crore muslims in india and rest 70 crore r

hinds if all muslims became terrorist as you think than every terrorist need to

kill 2-3 hindus and u know it very well what happening in Iraq for American troops

A terrorist r so perfect to kill dozens so dont make muslims terrosist just let them live peacefully

and practice them what ever their religion said to them

Women in burqa are better than those bathing naked on ganga ghats... Do you agree???

i think i have an answer to ur stupid joke!

and i am sorry to say these thinks and I am sorry to hurt any one fellings better follow the religon in a right way, Ask God Almighty to show us the straight path Aameen

Leave her personal life alone!
by Nadeem on Nov 12, 2006 12:35 AM  Permalink

What is wrong with you people ? Whether she wears and Burkha or a Hijab , why does it become a topic of national interest ? In first place, Rediff should not have posted these pics knowing the kind of comments/reactions that would be posted here.
Let us comment about her skills as a tennis player. What she needs to do to get into the top 20. To win tournaments. I guess most of the people who are posting abusive comments about Islam or RSS don't understand a thing of Tennis.

May Peace prevail
by Pranat on Nov 11, 2006 11:12 PM  Permalink

...religion divides then lets not discuss religion. Lets discuss something that unites us as Indians. Is it cricket, IT , lawn tennis ;), eradicating poverty, educating people?...

I think our respective gods ( Allah,Ishwar or Jesus) would be more happy if we engage with each other fruitfully in the areas that unite us and make us stronger.

Good Luck to all and our country!!
