Just think of the stupidity that one Indian sportswomans dress evokes so many responses! Wonder y no one responds to the dress that actresses wear in movies? There were and are lots of Muslim women in acting industry who wears close to nothing in cinemas and in photos. Y no one has any problem with it and only sees religious dress code issues on a girl who happen to represent the whole country in a sport where its essential to wear short skirt or shorts? By these standards would these who are blinded with talibanistic religious extremism ask for athletes to cover whole body when they run? Shouldnt people be tolerant about other religions and genuine criticisms about themselves rather than issuing fatwa and jihads?? All religions speak of humanity and love for mankind. Its the extremists who are bending the interpretations to suit their ulterior motives. And by the way if you guys think that Muslim women dress perfectly according to the religion in Muslim countries, ask people living in Gulf. Theyll tell Sania is nothing compared to what they see daily there.
It is ok for sania, sonia,or maria if they feel so good about it why give so important and project it to invite controvercy.Let our brothers from her religion spoil her carrier which is facing down and import the type of religion from Pakistan,Afganistan and like minded states which is not good for you and your family.
Being a Hyderabadi, I have keenly followed Sania's Tennis since her first WTA match ("HYDERABAD OPEN" in 2005). While she has come a longggggg way as an Indian girl making it very very very BIG in World Tennis (Rank 38).She has begun to lose momentum and focus just when she started to peak. Distractions like TV Ads and People (talking about her absolutely normal TENNIS dresses) coupled with some injuries have pulled her back in the game and she has slid in the rankings, which is clearly evident from her poor 1st or 2nd round exits in recent Grand Slams and WTA events. Sania should understand that she is a professional player (donnning performance Tennis gear) on the courts and a good girl wearing decent dresses off the courts...She should turn a deaf ear to people who don't know the game of Tennis or dunno what sportswear or equipment is best suited for enabling optimum performance in the game) and she should stop focussing on ADs..she is seen in many Ads these days & the money she earns thru Ads is satisfying her more than Tennis it seems. SHARAPOVA started doing TV Ads (Ex. Canon) only after she worked hard to reach No.1. Sania should learn to work like Sharapova. Go! Hyderabadi
If Sania is at Mecca, why shud that be a big news on rediff!!! Media doesnot have any other work other than tracing what a celebrity is doing/going and publish in the Internet! Who knows, she might have gone there with HUJ Subsidy...which would have been better utilized for ppl/kids dying BUT WE ALL WILL HAVE TIME FOR NEWS LIKE THIS!
I am using Rediff from past 10 years and i liked it very much from the begining to till the date.
Why rediff is supprting such a contraversy? As a media person you should always support to the good things to the public and not to make the public under tensed. What are you going to achive? Do you think by putting this kind of thread rediff popularity will increase? it may increase for a period of time, later every one will reject. So i request donot support such a controversy.
my sister Saaaaaaaaania, I like Saaania with Burga, It is wonderful, beeeeeutiful for seeeeeing , I ENJOY SANIA, I Likkke like love my sister Saaaaniaaa, when u play wearing other dress, make me little injur me, okk no problem, but after play or after marrriage please continue Burga, bcos, I want to see you in Burga any time.It is good for Islamic culture. Vante Mataram, Jey Hind, I am proud to say- Indian MUSLIM. salam.
Sania went for a Umrah, a muslim pilgrimage. She has dressed approprialty for that.
Is there an issue with here dress here or the fact that she has gone for the umrah?
In both the cases its a personal issue. I mean who comments when a Sachin visits a temple in a traditional dress with a dhoti. The point is why should anyone? Thats his personal issue and belief.
So the same is with Sania's case.
Communal people just need some bahana to make a "issue" out of nothing, and the most disgusting thing is for rediff.com to carry this news in the front page for nearly a week and sensationalize it. What is the real aim rediff.com? Do you have issues with Sania being a muslim and practicing her religion?
