I think its undoubtedly Roger 'King' Federer. The way he has played in 2006 (winning 12 of the 16 tournaments,including 3 Grand Slams)is just remarkable to say the least. I think he has played much better than what other sports person has played in their sport. Not only is he the GREATEST Tennis Player ever,I think he is also 1 of the greatest sportsman to have ever walked the Earth. Just to think that he achieves all this without a regular full-time coach shows raw talent n the genius in him. So in my opinion, he;s the best sports star of 2006.
For me the best sports person of 2006 from entire world sports world is Merrykom.
How many of us know that she is 3 consecutive time ladies light weight world champion. I am proud about her as she is Indian. But people and media are mad about Sania who is non achiever since long.
