He ia no doubt a good cricketer but that does not meanhe is a good captain. His captaincy is pathetic. He is a yes man of BCCI and he is a back stabber. When his place in the India ODI team was at stake he was given the palce by Sourav who helped each and every palyer. Now when he is the captain he forgets every thing. He is not a good team man.

sourav never helped dravid. Why did sourav insisted dravid to keep wickets? Because of envy.Isn't it? It is dravid helped sourav with his bat..Dravid is the No.1 Test player for India and the only unsubstitutable player of India.

by Umesh Bej on Apr 23, 2007 06:59 PM  Permalink

Dear Rahul,
You are a good player, would request you keep your good game, as it may spoil your career faster, if you decided to stick to captainship.

Now its your choice

Hi,

Great ! I fully support you. This BCCI is another bunch of people who should be banished from the Indian Cricket scene.

Captain Rahul
by asit kumar chakrabarti on Apr 20, 2007 06:13 PM  Permalink

with pressure tactics to BCCI/Selection committee Rahul became captain with no leading qualities from front. He along with Chappel and the then selection committee are responsible for TeamIndia's poor performance in WC 2007

young boys
by ramakrishna praveen on Apr 20, 2007 12:52 PM  Permalink

not to blame the seniors but the reality is the lack of new talent every one now in this world cup are very well done in previous world cup as they are 4 years yelder at that time now they are 4 years older. they want the spirit of fastness, they should work on their aggeresiveness . the new and young boys will have that, so the new one has to be tried, they should be given the chance to show some gracefullness

It is right Rahul is the worst captain India ever seen. But we should honour his ability as a good batsman. Although very rarely his bat bring win for India, we can accept him as a good teamman. BCCI has done a historical mistake to keep faith on Dravid as the captain and for that reason we have to suffer for some more days.

Lack of leadreship
by Prabal Ranjan on Apr 16, 2007 05:55 PM  Permalink

Rahul no doubt is one of my all times great cricketer, a terrific batsman, rightly called the wall. But as a captain he lacked foresightedness, ability to lead from the front, take helpful guidance and suggestion from seniors, some where perhaps his ego forbade him to do so or the socalled expert caoch pulled/checked him. He and the coach failed miserably to study the playing conditions, play situations and his on field management was drastically bad and so we lost. It is only he and the coach to blame for the lack of killer instinct and positive out look resulting in dismal performance. BCCI is also equally to blame. Politicians should leave places for ex-cricketers to take care of cricketing affairs and management.
