Soldiers of the stature of FM. SAM MANEKSHAW do not come very often, it is indeed India's greatest fortune to have a son like him and now when he is no more it is indeed a great loss. He was a karmayogi in the true sense of the word as he gave the best years of his life to one of India's greatest institutions i.e. "The Indian Army." The 1971 victory over Pakistan was definitely an icing on the cake, but the most important factor was his fearless leadership and motivation of his men. God bless his soul and I earnestly pray to God that such real heroes are born in India with regularity. My heartfelt condolences to his family and to the Indian Army.
