OUTSIDERS IN MAHARASHTRA
by vinod jaiswal on Sep 12, 2008 07:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Respected Mr. Raj Thakre and his party desire that outsiders should leave if they fail to tow their line. Most recently a railway ticket was put on posters indicating that Mr. Bachan should go back to Allahabad. I wonder how much good is coming to Maharashtra by all this? I also wonder how soon a ticket will be issued to Bhagwan Ram to go to Ayodhya and Bhagwan Sri Krishna to return to Mathura as during their stay at Panchwati or at Pandu caves what language they spoke.

What about Swami Ramdev or Yoga or BhagwadGeeta?
by Vibhu Sharma on Sep 06, 2008 01:57 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I thought these are perhaps more apt icons of India... Bhagwad Geeta, Yoga, Meditation... with Yoga being especially popularized by Swami Ramdev... Would have loved to put Sanskrit language as well, but these days, people outside India are doing more research and work on Sanskrit rather than Indians ... who seem to bask in the reflected glory of contractial labour or glorified indentured labour. Anyway, from the list published, not sure there were too many to be proud of except for Lata, Abdul Kalam...

Its surprising that Rediff people cant search a better option to Saha Rukh Khan for Indias Great Pride.
I think dimak ko jung laga hain.
Cant we give scientists as an option.
Cant we have Dr. Prakash Amte as an Option.
Cant we have Mother Teressa as an option.
There are co many great persons as an option please start thinking beyond film industry.
Film Industry persons does not make any pride to the nation.

When I see a film or a serial, I recollect the days of my childhood. There were nautankies just like circuses. The group of people doing different dramas of Ramayana, Prahlad Bhagat, Krishan Janamashtmi & Holi,Ras Lila of Krishna. There used to be only gents and the ladies' role was also done by the young boys. We used to eagerly wait for them. Then came the cinema but silent and most of the films were stunt type and Laurel & Hardy and Charlie Chaplin were the most popular ones.
The point is, when we saw the actors in the morning doing their normal duties & for their daily needs to the market and taking bath in the open. Nothing looked as strange. They were rather poor people - moving from one place to another for their earnings & livings.THEN CAME THE PARTITION OF INDIA. Bombay and Calcutta became centres of movie makings. Kapoor family who came from Peshawar, settled in Bombay. Their father Mr. Priviraj Kapoor was a master of drama Art if nautanky types but done in halls hired by producers who came in this field.Their popular dramas like 'Pathan' became a hit and the public of the time became mad to see his new style of dialogue speaking and acting. Slowly they were approached to make movies and for that they had earned so much that Kapoor Studios were created - the richest of the time. No doubt, entertainment apart, they gave a full turn to the Art. You can imagine very well how many arts have developed along with the coming of movies -
stil SRK is an actor. No more

Imust say that now a days school children should not perform all filmi music to express but they should be given a chance to play on their traditional skits from which they will come to know why India was known as golden bird.what legacy we have taken from our forefathers.I was disappointed to see people performing all these.

I fully agree that the Filmi people are no great achievers except a selected few like the late Balraj Sahni ,Amitabh Bachan etc.,
And definitely Sharuk Khan does not deserve the India Great Pride. He is arrogant and the success has gone into his head. It is evdent from the way he reacted to Sunil Gavaskar's views on the four captain theory.
He had the adaucity to say that Sunil Gavaskar has not played the T20version of the game. But he should first admit that his Kolkata Night Riders coach Buchanan has not even played test cricket. Other than talking some BAKWAS and showing off his not so attractive face there is nothing that he can boast off as achievement.

MS Manisha, you are 100% right when you have asked the people of India to find an alternative to actor Shah Rukh Khan, afterall they are only 'acting' - the Karma is that which is done for others who need that. For example: at the time of Tsunami, cyclones, floods and quakes and calamities and the partitions & the riots. Just to immitage faces, to indulge in fake fights and show up as heroes doing all good to the people is a sheer nonsense and those who like to give them reward for this are absolutely wrong. Ar.. do'nt you see their purses filled in No.1 and No.2 money and their posh way life.
But, the other side is also black. We have no personality in Politics, In universities, in Public life, In Spiritual life and all what is arround us is a crowd of 'thugs' filling their own homes not the pockets because pockets are too small.

do we really think that our democracy deserves third position.
yes, i m proud to be in democratic country but then also i m not unaware of the internal situations.Every politician is just looking for there own benefit, no body cares for the common man.

Two and a half centuries before, the same thing was discussed by Lord Budha and the 24th Tirthankar Mahavir Jain when they met in a Parva - It is what they agreed to: "Are not all emperors equal to the 'moth' living only for their own lives.
Now, spiritually speaking, even if you go to the age of Vedas, you shall find that we are born democrafts. Vedas say: O MUNUSHYOS, CHOSE YOUR KING, SAMANTAS, MILITARY COMMANDERS only those who are valient, braves, good fighters, promise to bring riches to the people, take care of the best of the poors etc etc."
You ref. to the Greek philosophers who brought in ideas of democracy and other forms of govt. to the European countries. You will realise the flaws and short comings of democracies. The worst thing is 'corruption' for which the govt. is collectively responsible but here they hide the short comings of their corrupt colleagues and save themselves and the fall of govt. What they promise, they never fulfill. Now, again, the elections are coming and all the parties are well conscious of doing any thing which may not spoil their chances of winning the elections. Every party is preparing for the political fight and mud slinging on others and trying to find out the biggest short coming of the other party(s). So, You, me and all others have to silently watch what way they take to us - to flourish or to parish. God says, you grumble that you can not see me, foolish, if you are not seeing me then to whom are you seeing with these two ey

In my opinion democracy is a lessor evil compared to other forms of governement like monorchy, tyranny, dictatorship etc.The only problem is democracy will succeed if it is ruled by an intellectual
minority. For this to happen public at large need to be well educated and aware of the shortfalls of the system. But as long as the public is divided on caste lines & ethnic groups democratic form of government will be mockery. So the solution to this lies with the public only. and afterall people get the govt.,they deserve.

shahrukh.. who??
by siddharth yadav on Sep 02, 2008 07:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

it is particularly very ridiculous to post such an option "shah rukh khan". means how can u compare a cheap roadside dancer with the likes of "the Indian farmer" or "The Indian Soldier" or "Indian Democracy". He is not even comparable to Sachin or vishwanathan. more than shahrukh i pity on the mental framework of the person who has put up this option on behalf of rediff..

Mr. Shah Rukh Khan should have been in the court of Bahadur Shah Zafar making a show of mimicking the stories of olden time to make the king and the public laugh. Nothing more.
