Dear Falcon, Who are you to decide about someones faith? What matters is belief? If we have true belief, then even a stone is God. Please don\'t have a judgemental outlook on life. Learn to respect all religions - every religion teaches us beautiful tenets of love, kindness and humility. Lord Ganesha is known as the benevolent God...the destroyer of obstacles. Am sure whoever prays to Him will always be happy.
The love, respect & love of people for Lord Ganesha is very much understandable, but in their frenzied love for the Lord, they are changing Ganesha's form & posture as against what is described in the Hindu scripts & are depicting him & making HIs idols in the way they like.In stead of the standard form, people now started giving him the form of Balaji, Krishna,Rama,Dattatreya etc with the decoration & costumes accordingly & of late also are authoring several jokes on His postures in tune with various contemporary aspects of our lives.I am not against rejoicing with Lord Ganesha, but against the very sanctity of what all is told about the greatness of the Lord,we should not make Ganesha an object of humour for our entertainment. He is,after all,the Lord who removes all our obstacles & saves us with His divine grace.Good lies in retaining the sanctity enshrined in the connected ancient scripts & worship Him in the prescribed original form.Every limb of Ganesha & His holdings in all the four hands & also His vehicular creature"mooshika"(rat)some thing special to signify & symbolise.Let us, therefore, not tamper with the original form out of our mediocrity.Hindu scriptures also say that one should take care even to utter & pronounce the slokas of prayer correctly & any misuttterance has its own adverse impact on the worshiper. So,let us be careful while taking liberties with this lord-Gananath,the mustering of whose grace is a must for successful accomplishment of all our good deeds.
When indians staying abroad plan to return back for good they think am I returning back to a third world country where every third month there is a procession in the road causing traffic jams, loud music being played without any regulation, road being dug to raise pandals, people and politicians filling their pockets in the name of religion, a country where no public consultation takes place, where there is gunda raj and corruption to an extent. No grounds or gardens for children to play only cement jungles being erected by politicians no town planning no forward thinking, where power cuts are a part of the life.If people retain culture on the guidelines on Tilak and not on the guidelines of todays corrupt politicians rich NRIs can pour in money and make India into a superpower within next 20 years.
