I read here interesting comments. Qs is how many of you really have read Quran? English translation of Quran written by many muslim scholars are available. I have read the Quran. My impression is this. "Quran, desperately tries to lure the non believers by scaring them with God's wrath, and promise to reward the believers by great things in the Heaven. This keeps repating in almost all the Suras. Every pages of Quran talks about the rewards for the believers and punishment for the non believers". I didn't see any spiritual teachings, or talk of peace or nothing intelligent. Well read it to yourself. If they quote any peace verses of Quran , then it is the only verse in the Holy Book. For me, Taliban is the true face of Islam. Indian Muslims by any count are relatively the most rational minded people

the same applies to Shri Satya Narayan katha ... I mean, I have heard it being told countless number of times and the bottom line is same "Believe in God" .. of course shri satyanarian katha doesn't ask you to go kill non believers, it just shows you that great things happen for you when you believe in God and what terrible things can happen if you forget God and consider yourself to be above God ... basically when you lose all your humility.

I think the discussion was about taking scriptures seriously or too seriusly ... so, like this episode in mahabharata, when it applies to modern day times, we need to consider whether it applies in our situation or not ... are we vishwamitra? if we think that we are not, why should we pretend to be?

He asked his followers to kill a poetess who dared to question his claim of being a Prophet. Later, he told his followers to kill everybody who was a 'unbeliever'. It should be clear as to who was the world's first terrorist. Now, that the Indian Muslims are waking up to the truth, why not admit that the world's first and greatest terrorist was their own founder, and then decide to abandon the "Religon of Peace" itself.

Greeneyed Guru, do you know the meaning of Hindutva? The way you are using the word itself tells that you hardly know about the meaning and you have already started using it derogatively. O man Pl have a fear of teh almighty .Before telling anything about Islam without knowing any thing about it is like people without knwoledge.U are blaming to founder of religion,the founder of religion is Adam and Islam starts from Adam and you are also an part of Adam .Islam is the religion of peace and universal and religion of truth .Its guideline is Noble Quran which is not a book of only Muslim rather it si aBook of all mankind. Pl have a heart and mind to read before comment unknowlingly.
Pl dont see those who are doing .Those who are doing they are doing not from the recognition from the Book or any authority who has authrorised them. Those who are doing they are betraying from the guidance of Allah and prophet(PBUH).
