India??
by Sudhir Murdeshwar on May 27, 2008 01:24 PM  Permalink

THE STORY OF INDIA:
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.

Indian Version:
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving. NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house. Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that
Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter . Human Rights group and Koffi Annan criticize the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper. The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promise Heaven & Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance).

Why USA,why can't India do the same research and come out with alternative fuel.
India has ability and talent to do so.
Why look at some one else.
Stop this none sense of look at others for a meal,it is time we produced and cooked our own.

Everything we use is from American technology.. just look around.. from needle to anything.. so no need to criticise USA, though not licking their feet, at least we have to appreciate them for their creativity

The only indians who may have that ability are the scientists from Tamil Nadu. But look what happens to Dr. Kalam for his similar abilities. He is humiliated and shunted out (eerily echoes what happened to Narasimha Rao and by the same evil agency - The Congress.

As an Indian what you r doing ? It looks you are doing nothing just passing these comments ,which is very easy.. First do something for India then pass the comments ....Think on it if your tiny mind allows you to do so....

You idiot get your facts right..America is multi cultural country..hence they take talents from around the world whilst giving the success their own name.Shame on you for degrading our own people.I think our country needs to get rid of pests like you first

Rightly said, Saurabh! Much before the USA could be discovered, India was most developed civilization and already a world leader. Basically, USA is thriving on others intellectual property and human talent like Rajiv whose ultimate goal of the life is to get green card of America. The only problem of India is that its own citizens are not proud of our strengths and unable to identify our weaknesses. I think Rajiv and like minded people belong to neo-slave tribe. Jaago Bharat Jaago.Work for the country and stop dreaming about US Visa. Any confusion, please read Swamy Vivekanand, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar's 'Sanskriti Ke Chaar Adhyay' and APJ's book.

Phoenix landed on Mars - Mahesh Hyderabad, India
by on May 27, 2008 01:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Since beginning man associate with nature and try to get benefitted by moulding in to his requirements. After on earth because of his instinct he focussed on space. Landed on moon and try to on other planets. This is really historical landmark for mankind. In future let us hope man will attempt for more expeditions. Instead of religion superiority man concentrates on science & technology we can overcome several sufferings of mankind.

This whole mars mission is a waste of taxpayers money but nasa is a huge employment generator so nobody in US is yet questioning this sheer waste of money.

Sending missions to mars, moon and name-it-whatever-you-want is not going to feed our millions.

Frankly, we should not! We should rather invest in research and development which helps our self sustenance for the next 100 years like renewable energy, food production and water management, environment control and education.

Not sending useless science missions to mars and asteriods.

Look at our bloody oil state. We are planning to levy cess and what not to salvage our oil companies.

Has the government forces atleast as a pilot plan a plan which says 50% of power for household should come from renewable sources (solar panels, etc) and give tax benefits for people who do that...

come on guys talk sense.. our PSLV and GSLV acheivements make sense as they have a huge commercial value, but what commercial value does our chandraayan mission have... ?

Investing more and more in these unwanted science missions is analogous to milking the best cow you have in a herd 3 times a day while starving the rest!

Henry Ford was called adventurous;Edison was called a good for nothing fellow;Marconi was put in a lunatic assylum;Socrates was poisoned;Graham Bell was dragged to court; and we are now enjoying the fruits of their labour. So is NASA being ridiculed now but admired by men on MARS later.

Pollute all the freely available, clean, fresh water on EARTH and then search for some ice on MARS using high technology and billions of dollars.
That's the mission of modern science.
Bravo NASA !
