Why judiciary party so much
by Sandeep Kulshrestha on May 26, 2008 04:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If there are so many cases pending in our courts, why do they take break for long summer, winter vacations besides other. Why dont the judicial officers just take the leaves as in the case of others. They are just following the time table setup by the British who led the luxurios life at the expenses of Indians bcoz they least cared about them. The Judiciary also works five days in a week and god knows how much they sit in the court.

The judiciary can review anyone in the country and poin a fingure at them and one is in contempt of court.

The reasoning for - Why there are holidays in school and colleges stands valid for courts as well.
Do you know judges are provided list of cases coming up on next day in the evening of the preceeding day, they read all the cases late in the evening till late in the night. Moreover, for judgments, they read relevant documents at home only as while in the court they are busy either in presiding the court or enganged in the official work in their office. So they are working round the clock whenever they are not sleeping.
So effectively judges have no presonal / social life of their own till they are judges.
They need break from their routine work from time to time to relax and refresh themselves and so the vacations.
Students after exams be it term end or final exams are given break to relex and refresh their minds.
Nothing British in it.
Thanks

You are wrong, judges need not read about the case at all. It is the duty of the lawyers and the public prosecuters. When the modern juduciary took it's shape in England hundreds of years back the precedence was established. The first judge sentenced a criminal for a particular crime, the next day he and his hench men had the audacity to attack the judge in his home. When the case came to the court the judge did not punish the criminals because the public prosecuter and the lawyer did't do a good job.Public did't understand why the judge did't punish them. The judge see how the case is produced in front of him and the public,he is not to find out the truth, but to render justice. It is the lawyers who toil for sleepless nights to find out any loopholes or discrepencies in the case. On the day of writing the judgement only the Judge has to refer to find out how much punishment and what punishment to be given. It is notorious that our judicial system is slow. We have judges who give blank arrest warrants for a few thousand Rs,on which the police or anybody can write anybody's name even the name of the President of India or the Chief Justice.

Religious Rights above Human Rights
by deepak on May 26, 2008 04:16 PM  Permalink

Under section 498A, Indian Government has arrested more than 90000 women without any investigation as per Crime Beaureau Records. This is worse than TADA, POTA and a Human Rights Crisis in India. Is there any solution to this Mr CJ?

TADA should be Imposed on the Forgeing people who are involve in the Terrrssss act in india.

They are coming to india with the help of "DeshDrohis", committing crime at beaches of Chennai, Mumbai & Goa.

Even the Embasssies have lots of complaints but very few case taken up.

Indian Judiciary
by Badri N Raizada on May 26, 2008 03:52 PM  Permalink

Instead of taking up executive functions the judiciary should concentrate on speedy dipensation of justice and elimnation of corruption amongst them. If prompt justice is ensured the executive will automatically improve their efficiency. Also the executives must be held accountable for all their acts of commission and omission to ensure competence and fairplay.Justice must not be delayed as "justice delayed is justice denied".
