So much pain...
by T M on May 26, 2008 04:26 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I can sense the personal anguish in this piece. India's secular journalist are fulminating at mouth, as usual, at another BJP victory. Their unquestioning support of Congress so that they can flash their 'secular' credentials in iftaar parties is predictable. In India as in US, the liberals think that denigrating own culture, religion and history is sign of higher IQ.

MUMBAI: At a time when eyebrows are being raised on the kind of education being imparted in madrassas across the country, Waseem-ur-Rehmana maulana (31) from the Darul-Uloom-Deoband in Uttar Pradesh has passed the UPSC%u2019s Civil Services examination, in his fourth attempt.
Interestingly, for his interview, the maulana took training at an RSS-run institute, Samkalp, at Paharganj in New Delhi.
Maulana Waseem-ur-Rehman, 31, is the first madrassa product who has cleared the civil services exams in the country. Brother of a truck driver, Rehman comes from a poor family in Siddharth Nagar UP. He stood 404th among the 734 successful candidates. Rehman, who took history and Persian as his optional subjects, wrote his papers in Urdu.

Speaking to TOI, Rehman said he worked hard for four years to crack the exam. In my three earlier attempts, I failed in the prelims. This time, it being my last chance, I worked harder and made it a point to pass the exam. By the grace of Allah I am among the successful candidates he said.

Article on personal problems...
by Ratnesh Sahay on May 26, 2008 03:33 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is an article written by Sheela Butt in a manner as if, this her personal problem.
The journalist fails to understand, if it can be good for the state and allow a chance to the other party. In democracy, it is people who are to decide and not some Ms.Sheela Butt who will say that some Congress govt. has to be there always in governance.

Congress and Karnataka
by Rashmikant Shah on May 26, 2008 03:14 AM  Permalink

BJP has learned from their mistake in the last Parliament election. TRhey realized that development of local leadership is essential for survival and progress of the any political party. That is main problem with congress. Survival congress is essential for their Chamachas and for Nehru family like Clinton and Bushes in USA. BJP gaining upper hand in south is good for India and south as a whole. Congress has no choice but continue to slowly disintegrate in to oblivion and let all Mullahas and other to find their champion and that will provide enough time for India to progress and compete with likes of China. Times of India should be ashamed of their biases and change their editorial board and/or ask their reporters and editors to be Desbhaka and unbiased.

by mahendra sapa on May 26, 2008 02:24 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why is Sheela Bhatt hell bent of supporting Congress in everyone of her articles. I simply don't understand. I would appreciate if someone could send me her picture and some details on her. May be I need to sit down and understand her, and try to convenience her that Congress is not India. She is suppose to be loyal to India and not congress, unless she is a foreign nationalist.

Sheela you may write her at msapa@hotmail.com

Only if Rajeev Srinavasan is made one of the senior editors on Rediff, Sheela bhatt could be balanced out at editorial table...Currently, She considers Redigg, her jigar, and can write as many article as she wants... During Gujarat election, she used to write 5 articles a day against BJP... But when came an counting day, She came out predicting that BJP would sweep the Gujarat election, and that she was the first one to say it.. LOL In Karnataka election, she keep her profile lower, so she could recover from Gujarat beating...

Sonia, my darling of defeats- India wants leaders who can bring constructive change and not a Sonia's puppet
by on May 26, 2008 01:46 AM  Permalink

The Congress Party doesnot understand the pulse of modern India. They believe poor wants to be poor and doesnot support change. They always raise the issues of poverty and secularism with out even a complete understanding of what they are. We need progressive policies not populistic. we need constructive leaders not puppets. we need change, a change where the country can embark on faster growth paths fuelled by good policies and not by luck ...

It was Sonia Gandhi, who was damaging the party from behind
by satyarthi on May 26, 2008 01:05 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

During Narshimha Rao's regime, it was Sonia Gandhi who was damaging the party through her coutries. later on, this was proved when Arjun, NarainDutt Tiwari , etc., were rewarded with ministrial posts.

Sonia Gandhi even had founded her own party back in 1995.. i still remember when My cousin got his luck in becoming the president of Punjab, and was put in charge of assembling the district leaders.. That was the time, when Congress Party was the ruling party, and these fake gandhis thought of congress getting away from their hand.. And who can forget that sonia gandhi became a president of Congress, after locking the then president into Bathroom with the help of fellow goons who are now ministers at various portfolio.
