Congress needs to get its act together
by rajarshi banerjee on May 25, 2008 06:00 PM  Permalink

The INC seriously needs to do some hard deep introspection. Merely calling meetings making party HQ and party heads as scapegoats and reaffirming faith to Sonia Gandhi is proving disastrous to them. They have to think if Sonia Gandhi is being able to provide them the right direction or she is just furthering her family ambitions to make her son, Rahul baba as the future PM. With so many galactic leaders, even in Karnataka there were too many due to which congress failed to project a single CM candidate and paid the price heavily what I fail to understand is why does the party need a Italian woman to lead them at the hustings???Unless Congress starts to think beyond the Gandhi family and its cronies, it is going to face a severe battering in 2009 general elections.

STARK MESSAGE TO BJP BEFORE LS POLLS
by ajesh chawla on May 25, 2008 05:58 PM  Permalink

Neither the communal card, nor the anti- democratic stance can only make the BJP to gain the ground. The peace, prosperity must remain the poll plank of BJP as INDIA will transpire as GUJRAT before LS polls. I hope BJP must have learnt the lesson more than the Congress.

BJPs rise in Karnataka
by Balasubramanian S on May 25, 2008 05:55 PM  Permalink

I would like to differ from the author on her statement that BJP's victory in Karnataka is different from Gujarat. In fact the BJP was pushing the development agenda even in Gujarat and it was the so called secular opposition was raking up Godhra. Sonia's abdication of the throne in 2004 was due to the simple reason that the Nehru dynasty is used to undiluted power which she cannot enjoy in a coalition.

Leadership problem
by peter Ska on May 25, 2008 05:55 PM  Permalink

In addition to lack of democracy in cong, there is leadership issues too. Cong seems to depend too much on Sonia, even the PM also. Thats a bad message to all people.

Also at the state level (some state), there is lack of a charismatic leader. I my state (OR), since last 10 years, its hard to find a good leader in cong, who can match NP. And the party is so disorganized, u will never feel to waste ur vote..

by Raja Krsnan on May 25, 2008 06:33 PM  Permalink
BJP did the right things at the right time.
they have won from reserved seats also. congress was using the sc/st as vote bank.
the only person who is happy is Dr.B.R.Ambedkar who must be having a party at heaven to celebrate the congress defeat becos this party twisted and amended the constitution to suit its vested interests.
