Now after the Karnataka election Victory, the NDA has a clear upper hand over UPA in 2009 elections. The greatest challenge for BJP is to counter the anti-incumbency in MP, Rajasthan & Chhattisgarh. We shall see before the end of 2008 how well BJP tackles the anti-incumbency in these states. But my sense is that it will retain Chhattisgarh, lose Rajasthan and MP can go either way depending on how many SC votes BSP takes away from Congress. Overall if these predictions come true, NDA is likely to cross 200 mark in 2009 Lok Sabha elections. With the support of 40-45 seats from Mayawati and 20 seats from Jayalalitha, NDA will form a government. So the remote control will go into the hands of the two ambitious ladies from the ideologically rigid left parties.

Everyone appears to be overjoyed at bjp's victory. This is actually a time for mourning in the great land of india where democracy was a pride and envy of the world. Now Indians are turning into hard core fascists. Imagine voting overwhlmingly for a paerty that is openly hate mongering and violent. A party whose leaders preach hate murder and organise acts of genocide against their minority citizens with out any sense of law or order. These goonda like leaders opnely talk of annihilation of muslims in india and reinforce their message by acts of horrid violence sending terror and fear among the poor helpless minorities who are already living in insecurity and fear making their lives meaningless. Modi is looked upon as a hero by likeminded hndus. What is so great in rushing an army of thugs and murderers to murder rape and burn alive women children and old men ?Is this heroism? Indians ought to be ashamed of this . One would have expected the BJP to be completely eleiminated.Instead it has reemereged in karnatake. This only shows that Hindus are turning evil in India folloiwing thier terrorist leaders with undue loyalty. They blame Muslims for all their faults recalling old history which is totally irrevelant in todays india. Such immaturity, such a gross sense of misunderstanding of facts. Such an unfortunate way of thinking. O lord . what has happened to our dear land which was the envy of the world for its democratic structure. It has become fascist with Nazis as leaders.

I am proud to be a hindu and a follower of hindu religion which is a progressive religion. At the same same I have many muslim friends since my childhood and have family bondings with muslim friends and their families. Muslims are great nationalists there is no doubt about it. You have to look to ideology of BJP and not their attached and associate organisations. attached organisations of all parties play communal cards at the time of elections but as a political party BJP is committed to honour constitution of India and any word of hatred or communal disharmony is not in the national interest.
Dear Rhazes Ashrawi please meet some BJP leader to ally your fears.

Pl open the windows of your brain and think.....WHY many Muslims always think that BJP kills Muslims? Is it a FATWA issued in any MOSQUE to think in this fashoin????
Who sowed the seed of hatred sentiments at partitions? BJP who did not even born at that time? Pl change the thought process. The remarks like your invite trouble to all Indians. Pl think first that you r above religion and first u r countryman INdian.

would a victory by devegowda made you happy or by congress(Sonia Gandhi). All the anti national elements do want a fragmented mandate so that the role of leg pullers like pseudo secular left or JDS or such other outfits can take the nation to ransom(deeper disasters). It would make likes of Asharwi if the India is similiar in governance like its greatly destroyed neighbours Pakistan & Bangladesh where army and Mullah rule either from fron or back.

Ashrawi, Congress and its partners-Communists,Muslim League,RJD,etc have failed miserably in their mission to divide and disunite the Hindus of India, specially of Karnataka, that BJP has won absolute majority to form the government on or after 28 May'08.I wish the Seculars had played the Language card strongly, started anti-Hindi compaign. It would have reaped wonderful harvest.Similarly Muslim League should have worked more fanatically to convince Muslims of Karnatka to vote for one and only one of the secular party-Congress or Janata Dal (Secular). Both factors would have played a wonderful role and routed the BJP.They can even now start a Gujjar-like agitation in Karnatka by projecting and prompting one of the backward Hindu caste, not declared OBC so far,to agitate for OBC status. There are several such castes in Karnatka too for such exploitation. This will prove RAMA VANA or SANJIVNI for the Secular brotherhood. No need crying over spilt milk. This be tried in Lok Sabha elcction

one thing that BJP is always blamed for what happen..? why do the people dont say that why godhara happened..? if the godhara had not happened the whole scene what took place in Gujarat would have not happened isnt it..? u always see the good side..not the bad side of minority here in india..how they use to treat the hindu womens and all and after godara it was destined to happen as a law of physics say " for every action there is equal and opposite reaction "
It is a big releif to see a Ture Nationalist Party to come back strong in Karnataka. ONly wish they had secured another 10 seats just to ensure a troubless government. Remember they almost had it in 2004 but everyone ganged up to keep them away. The result Karnataka lost 4 years of precious development. I just hope they won't mess it up like the earlier governments did and concentrate on rebuilding the Gardent city and other smaller towns. Here's hoping and wishing for good governance for the next 5 years
The anti incumbency and voters frustration with JDS and Congress, has resulted in people choosing other viable alternative BJP. There is no communal and other reasons for their victory. Even states with BJP rule changed to Congress and so voters are becoming clever and never tolerate cheap politics and gimmicks.

Which Jayalalitha you are speaking about?. Is she the same lady who is loosing her vote base to Vijayakanth and counting her days. In Tamilnadu BJP will start its account with -39. So stop your bull shit analysis.
This is one of the clearest, boldest and unbiased article I've ever read. Very analytical and accurate. Sheela Bhatt, congrats! you've done what we journalists wanted to say since long and were not bold enough to do so. Pls. keep it up. Bhahaduri is journalism, truly. Sycophancy is obsolete and apparently unworkable in present day India. Just one little thought Sheela: How many publish such straight and inspiring articles? Pls. name a few sources who do. I wish to contribute too. Incidentally, let me confess I'm not pro-BJP man, nor pro any political party for that matter. Rgds. Rajendra.

Rajendra:
With the credentials you supplied, you seem to be a far more suitable candidate to be the political editor than this Congress-minded Sheela.. Look what she did to a story which was supposed to be telling us how BJP's K'taka win is credible. Instead she ended up telling us how and why Congress lost... :-)
